Hi, I just bought an 18000mah battery pack from amazon by EC Technology, it has 2 outputs, one 1AMP and another 2.1Amp. My Nexus 5 charges at 1.2 amps, would it be safe to use the cable that came with the phone in the 2.1AMP output or am I better off using the 1AMP. THANKS

I bought my G2X used and it didn't come with an AC charger. I've been using another charger I have from a LG phone (STA-U12WD) that is 5.1V and 0.7A. Was looking for a replacement and I read on an Amazon review that the original charger is a STA-U13WV 4.8V and 1A.
Can someone check their charger for me? Thanks.
You'll want both a high amperage and high voltage. Look for a 5 volt (or 5.1) and 1 amp charger.
Think of it like a water hose. Voltage is the pressure, amperage is the width of the hose. So higher width and higher pressure gets the most water. Also note that lowering the width of the hose increases the pressure.

hey redmonke, do you own the original charger? Can you check the model #?
and if you recommend a charger with higher amperage or voltage what are the limits?

I have the original charger that came with my T-Mobile G2x:
Model #: STA-U13WV, Output 4.8v, 1.0a
In my car I use a 5 volt 2 amp charger (though I'm not sure if it's 5 volt split across 2 outputs or if it's for one output, I'll need to test when I get back from university) . Look for 5 volt 1 amp on Amazon with good reviews.
I currently use a cheap 5 volt 700mA charger and it's alright, though it's not the fastest.

thanks man!
I use an apple charger. I also have a charger that can charge a battery and has a USB output of 5.2v @ 800Mah. I'm a little concerned of the 5.2v, I don't want to use it and 6 months later my phone stops charging or worse.
Hi m8s,
I sold my HTC ONE but I already bought a Universal Charger.
do you think I'll have a problem or will it mess up using this universal 5.0v - 2.0A charger on my LG Nexus 5 32Gb?
Cose in discription it refers compatibility with S4, Note 3 and Nexus7?

I've used my Nexus 7 2012 2A charger and my Anker 2A portable battery pack to charge various different phones including N4, N5 and HTC One without any issues-the phone's charging circuits will not allow them to charge at a higher current than the phone would like.
My worry with that charger would be the quality of it being a cheap Ebay special. Probably won't damage your device but then again it might, plus will it actually charge at 2A anyway?
Using a 5v 2.0 A charger should be fine. USB chargers are all 5V. The nexus 5 comes with a 1.2A charger. Using the 2A charger won't cause any harm because the phone itself draws the current it needs.
However, I did notice that while using my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 charger that has an output of 2A, that it started to charge my nexus at 1.5A.
So using a 2A charger over the 1.2A charger that came with the Nexus, will actually charge the phone about .3A faster
But you do have to watch who you buy it from. Some chargers don't output at the rate they are supposed to.

Looks like the Note 4 comes with a 2A charger. I imagine this is all we would need in a car charger to support the quick charging?
Nope. The charger has some type of 9 volt mode to facilitate the quick charge, apparently.

You'd need a special Samsung charger. The one that comes with the Note 4 has dual modes. It will charge at 9V 1.67A up to 50%~ and then switch over to the regular 5V 2A.

So, has anyone tried the ones not listed by Samsung or Qualcomm? Amazon has both Anker and Verizon for about $10 or $12 that are 2 or 2.1 amp. I know they probably don't do what the officially compatible ones do but they'd be better than the old Sprint thing I have been using for 5 years, right? It's probably 1 amp or less. I need a new charger but not necessarily fully-compatible until they get cheap like this stuff I am seeing.
If you want the fast charging in your car you need to buy one that is Quick Charge 2.0 capable.
I tried 10W car charger from Samsung and it charged from about 60 % 1% every minute up to 75 % while testing it. But it isn´t really fast charging technology or?

Where did you get this information re 50%?
When mine passes 50% it continues to quick charge according to the battery stats I have obtained on my device.
I imported a number of the Incipio car chargers to the UK. They are excellent but not cheap!
Hi all, I have bought my s8+ from the secondary market without any accessories. I wanted to buy the original charger then got a bit overwhelmed by the jungle of ''genuine' ' offerings on ebay, and whilst I needed to charge this beast ASAP I have bought one of those micro USB to type C plug adapters and used and still use my LG g4 charger with a micro USB cable (from amazon kindle) plus this adapter.
Now it occurred to me that I might be doing something wreckless here and I am a bit worried.
The Samsung original one has input of
100V - 240V with 50/60Hz 0.6 A
OUTPUT - 5V - 2A
9V - 1.67 A
My LG charger has
Input
100V - 240V 50/60Hz 0.3A
OUTPUT - 5V - 1.8A
As far as I can tell I have a lower amperage and it should be fine..
The charger one time showed fast charging but it didn't ever since and it usually takes 2 hours and 5 minutes for a full charge.
Should I stop using this charger and invest in a Samsung one?
Don't really want to if I don't have to since this has such a good battery, I only plug it in every 36 hours or so.
You should be ok but may not get a fast charge. The main thing I've noticed is it's important to get good quality cables, not cheap ones. I'm using Anker ones as backup. I bought what I thought was a Samsung charger but it heated up and on closer examination seems like it may not be.

Am I the only one not giving a damn about chargers? [emoji16]
I bought one from eBay...paid £5 and it has 3 usb ports (one quick charge).
I use in the car and at work the usb micro to c adapters...not a problem (I don't care about having the quick charge).

I prefer the lower voltages. In my opinion it's better for the battery
Suggestions for best charger.
Our stock charger is good, its only the usb cable that is bad, first try with a different cable and stock adapter and see what speed you get. Also keep the temp of your phone down, if it reaches above 42 you'll get slow charging.
And suggestions for chargers that I've personally used are mi 2A adapter and samsung adaptive fast charger which is also a 2A charger.
The cable i use is amkette 3A cable.
I use LCARE charger that I bought from Amazon. It is QuickCharge compliant. Charges the device from 0% to max in 2 hours and 5 minutes for me. It's the model with 2 high speed ports and one regular 2.0 amp port.
I bought it for approx 500 rupees.
