Thank you On the ui update @bleu8888.
First of all I would like to say the below content is my personal opinion and it maybe stupid. Also I don't know if I'm allowed to give feedback on beta's.
All my feedback is on the ui.
Sorry if it doesn't matter.
1. Dark theme is removed Implemented
2. No colored status bar on material update Implemented

3. Vertical Volume and brightness gesture look could be better and more material. Like the screenshot below.
Mx player
QuickPic
4. refresh button isn't needed. Material has a swipe down gesture for it
5. Edit function can be removed from overflow menu. Material implies on touching icons for selecting individual items in a list. Implemented
6. There can be a option to use bordered fonts and buttons Incase anyone wants to use Complete transparent theme. Similar to how subtitles work.
7. Material touch effects are missing from the video list, while they are there in Settings list. Implemented
settings
Mx list
Mx settings
8. Action bar may dissappear while scrolling down, as ads already use some space of screen. Like the reddit app here does beautifully.
9. the play button on the action bar Can be a fab (floating action button) like the yellow and green thing in the screenshot. Would look kickass I guess Implemented
10. New icon. It's about damn time. With the material update a new material icon would be the Santa's ? gift ? Implemented
6. When I mean bordered icons. I mean like the auto rotate icon that we currently have. It has some shadows and is hence easy to see on white backgrounds. If other icons would be like this that would be great. Matches material principles of shadows

Thanks for feedback! Here is my idea;
1. Black theme is still on the list.
Did you check the black one next to white one.
2. Actually it is matter of choice. I think black one is better but will add an option for coloring notification area
3. Definitely need improvement
4. Yes, it can simplify interface but not so intuitive, I think. Anayway option will be added also.
5. Hmm let's think about it.
6. I will try it.
7. Fixed on latest test build.
8. Hmm. I prefer referring Goolge apps rather than 3rd party apps. No Google apps are using this feature.
9. Thumbs up!
10. Yes. definitely.
8. actually Google plus uses this. Just open a post with lot of comments, scroll down the comments and we see the actionbar dissappears
Also for the new material seek bar use this library it's better than the Google one.
https://github.com/wasabeef/awesome-android-ui#animation
It got some good animations also

But UI improvement may not be applied on today's patch because of lack of time.
Any possibility of adding an AMOLED Black theme?

Have an example of what you mean, and/or how that would be different from the current black theme?
P.S. I've opened this new thread as a quick guide for customizing themes and setting up transparency: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/mx-player/customizable-ui-themes-t2988237

AMOLED Black themes use the hex value #000000 for true black which allows those pixels to remain off to conserve power and have a darker black.

According to me, if you're looking to conserve battery.
Doing this won't benefit much as I think you will spend more time watching the video than at the list
@bleu8888, awesome update, thanks!
But I just noticed the search field has keep Holo style (screenshot attached), please remove it :fingers-crossed:

Hmm, I still think it would be useful to have a "true black" theme. It would only need to be 1 more option that isn't too difficult, since everything is just set at #000000. My only question is, does it follow Material design? Though, it's probably a special case that could be made the exception...
Aashuk, mind hiding all those large images in the OP in spoilers? It would make loading and scrolling the thread a lot easier

Aashuk, first of all its a brilliant player, 10/10
Second, why DID you remove the pure black background and not simply keep it as an option? This grey colour is really, really cheap. I want my player lists colour BACK to how it was or at least be given the option to do so.
My OLED tablet and my smartphone both suited the black well. I don't understand this deletion on the theme update.
Please, please put black alongside grey in the colour options again ))

As for the volume and brightness sliders, @bleu8888 has said that on the next update, they will match what is set for the progress slider.

In the ROM Pre-Installation window put a checkmark next to "Backup Existing ROM" ONLY!!

or
You can install the theme from Recovery - Just make sure to do a Nandroid backup first
Thats it.

Nice Theme....only one problem...it is RED!!!...I would love it in blue
This theme is beautiful, It looks like you put so much work into it! it goes great with my speck case I have 2 requests though
- a patch for a stock battery but with red insides
- a patch for stock lock pattern dots
thank youuuu
Very nice work! Just installed over skyraider and it looks great.

Very nice work ! However too red for me, blue would be killer !

dude what a theme, wow, incredible work.
Just installed on the 8-1 dated New Leak and looks great except for one big thing:
Please remove the red line under the notification tray.
It sticks out way too much and stops any black backrounds from blending in seemlessly with the notification tray. It also doesn't look right as the battery icon and red line overlap each other.
Again I think it would look cleaner without it.

Like stated in my first post, this is a work in progress. I am aware of the icons resting on the line and have been slowly but surely raising them up so they do not. I messed around a bit just making the notification area just black without the red line and it didnt look right. I will play around with it again.

Does there have to be any line of any color? I think just removing the line would be great if possible otherwise I would take black or whatever color the rest of the notification bar is.
Anyway thanks for all your work you can tell how much polish went into this.
Can you post the wallpaper that is shown is the first image? That in my opinion is what makes the theme awesome.

Having it solid black notification area looks incomplete. The trick is having it blend (transparency) but doesn't look funky when the notification area is pulled down. I am working on it now.

Strange, as far as I know I can add the widgets at any size and resize. Have you tried starting the widget in the prescribed size, and have you set margins of the homescreen to zero/none?
Trying it out now. Kinda like the PIE UI I have now, this sucker takes a while to put together just right lol.
Sizing seems fine here for me. In Nova, you HAVE to set the grid to the correct size so that the widgets will fit correctly.
I did see for example the Clock skin, where in the UCCW is labeled, 4x2 where it should be 2x4 for the correct size and can be adjusted accordingly. Most everything else is 2x2 so that's a given.
Green tiles here I come! LOL

Here's mine. Did a little editing with some of the tiles. IE Dont have FB and whatsapp... For some reason the 4.2 camera app doesn't show up on the uccw app list. I just took off the hotspot and put in an invisible icon with the camera app there on the top part of the tile. Workaround win .

Btw, for the overeager modders amoungst you: the icons are from the Alex T as well. You can download it here. Also, you can shuffle the layout really easy by simply swapping the widgets. And good job on the camera workaround!

Also just another note in regards to using Nova Launcher or any launcher really....
To get the tiles to fit, other than what is already noted in the second post; is to remove the dock or hide it. To access the apps I use gesture function of two fingers swipe down. Then to turn off the screen I simply swipe up. :good:

You did everything right. There went something wrong with the non square tiles, when changing the filenames. The proper files have been restored (this means that the names are inverted again) Until I've got some more time (busy week) I'll fix the names properly. Nevertheless, functionality is no issue!

A simple widget that displays your most recently used applications in a grid. Blacklist apps you don't want showing up and style the widget to match your home screen theme (IAP).
Instead of cluttering up your home screen with tons of app shortcuts just add a single MRU widget.
All your most recently used apps show up automatically, ordered by most recently used or most used.

Sorry to hear that. :crying:
Does your Note 4 have an 'Apps with usage access' option in device security settings? Near the bottom?
Love the idea but haven't actually tried it yet. One question/request...would it be possible to have these in a regular homepage folder?

Thank you. My reasoning is that I like to keep my homepage fairly clean/simple/minimal. The widget is a little much, but if I could have all those apps behind just a single icon it would be fantastic.
Either way, good work. Android FTW

I just pushed an update to Google Play (v0.4) that allows for a 1xN grid. So you could have a tall column then shink it down to one home screen space, making it vertically scrollable.
Functionally similar concept to Hangar's widget, would be interesting to see where this goes
I def like the idea. Would it be possible to get like a contextual widget that shows apps by location for example home, work, out and about gym.. Car etc something like how the HTC sense home widget work's?

Icon label color is based on background color. Dark backgrounds have white text and light background have dark text. If the background is transparent then text color is based on the launcher wallpaper.

Can an option be included? I am on Note4 stock TW launcher and the icon labels are white. I cannot see the labels since my wallpaper is black but I want my background transparent.

Glad to hear, some other Note 4 users were having issues. I'm pretty sure it's Samsung removed some of the Usage Stats APIs.
News:
I've got icon pack support coming in the next version. :good:

Respone speed when click icon to open is quite slow
This works for me. Thank you OP!
Just one request: I noticed that when you switch to 3 rows, the labels are not shown immediately. You still have to scroll down to see the labels on the bottom icons. It would look a lot better if you wouldn't have to scroll down. (2nd screenshot)

Should look into allowing icon packs to be applied to the widget.

Yes, it works. Small bug is, I have put transparency for the image and when I click hide and then show, image is not transparent. I don't know if it is supposed to be like that...
One suggestion is, will it be possible to lock the position??? And pls add an image like grant on left and right sides. It gives an impression like Samsung note edge. Actually, this is the app I want to make, making any device feel like Samsung edge. But I'm not getting time. Pls make this mod.
Thanks

Great, thanks for the feedback. Yes, transparency is not saved at the moment as I didn't think it would be useful, but I can make sure transparency gets saved. It's an easy mod.
It would indeed be possible to lock the position, there again, a bit of work but not difficult.
As for the last question, I don't really understand what you mean: what's "grant"?
Thanks, I used this code: S6VZDUY7YBA2XDPJKQF6DUV

Quick question if you don't mind. By "lock the position", do you mean:
- save it so that it shows in the same place after hiding it?
- or lock it on the screen so that it can't be moved?
Cheers!
I mean lock it on the screen. It should be with check box.
To be clear, I will use a custom image with two gradient bars on left and right and complete my transparent in the middle(I LL put correct resolution that matches my screen). So, when I use this image, I don't want gradient to come out of the border and so locking the image position will be nice. Pls let me know if you need more clarity...

I understand. It's actually possible to create an option where the overlayed custom image is not only locked on the screen but also where you can touch through it. Basically, you can use your screen as you normally would. It's something I intend to do but it will take some time as I am very busy right now.

Hi StrangerWeather,
Nice work! Thanks for this app
I used this promo code (the second one in your list): KRZFS315TKK1HUJYN9WBK8U
It works as intended on my P9 Lite running MM (EMUI 4.1.1)!
Only a tiny suggestion for now: you should add the possibility to "Never show intro again" (like it already exists in the 3-dot menu) from the intro screen itself.
Good day, everyone!
XDA users can get access and a FREE FULL version right now. If you like the widget and want to get new styles and features - please, post in this thread or send me a message. I will send you a code right away!

Thank you! Some people get confused - when you first place the widget on the screen you need to resize untill it's all visible!
the app is at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codescape.seventime
this is a very good app.. simple and nice design with minimal permission required..
keep up with new styles..
some suggestions:
(1) the "Overview" tab in the app seems to be unneeded.. (unless you have some future use of it in mind..) the "Styles" tab is visually more appealing and imho can be put as the main view..
(2) the upper-right corner 3-dot menu is redundant as all the options there can be invoked via the upper-left menu button.. in fact i like the upper-left menu button more and it is more conformant to the material design..
(3) the lower-right "Color editor" icon is redundant as well..
[edit]
now i got what the "Overview" tab does.. its a preview of the changes i made.. so now my point (1) suggestion becomes this: the preview is not applied immediately after i save my changes, but when the next time i start seven time.. could it be applied as soon as the changes are saved?

Thanks a lot for this feedback! I was in doubt about "Overview" tab since I want to place a cardview with the new features when I update it (for the next update I will make styles open as the first tab). For the changes, I think I might have forgotten to update it in OnResume. Thanks for mentioning it!
Will clear up the settings in the main menu. Would you keep the setting in the other activities?
Also, I have a few questions:
1) Should I move style settings from the settings to the tab with cardviews?
2) Any suggestions for the color editor?
Thanks a lot once more. Really valuable comment!

i think keeping the settings in the main menu should be enough.. in other pages (activities) it is not really necessary, and may even be a bit confusing..
and yes, i think moving style selection to the "Styles" tab is more intuitive.. i initially thought i could select style in that tab, but found out its a place for demo.. well its already a good idea, but will be even better if i could tap to select a style, and then immediately go to "Overview" to see its effect (after you fix that OnResume().. )
for the color editor, as i like to precisely control the colour values, it would be better to provide a way to directly input the RGB (or Hex) values..
thx for your work.. :good:
Can make it posible to be 2 line when resizing? And a simple size changer for hour n minutes.. That should be nice

Once more, thank you for your comments - I've already made:
- Added HEX dialog to input the color codes (you can see the current color ther in the edittext "hint"), I am thinking of making adding a ViewSwitcher to make it possible to add RGB manually too!
- Cleaned up menus in the activities
- Made styles the first tab (I will make some fancy icon for new styles I'm working on now to see what style was added in the update)
- Working on 2 new styles
Also, some comments from Google Play suggested taking colors from the background image. I will try to impliment that too as soon as I have more free time - will dive into Palette API (hopefully it's not hard!)

Ah, got it! Thanks for the suggestion! I was thinking about it for a while, but did not make it yet. I am going to make a second widget layout for that, so there will be horizontal clock (one line) and vertical clock (two lines, hours on top and minutes on bottom) and you will be able to switch it in the Settings. WIll update it after a few updates :good:
New update, sadly, without new styles - but the next update I am going to post with 2 new styles!
What's new (1.0.4):
+ HEX color code support – add your favourite color using the HEX code!
+ New tap action: Alarm clock
nice app it works really well
1.0.5 New update! Vertical layout for clock!
+ Vertical orientation added (beta)
I am not sure how to apply style.. I get bare minimum clock but clueless without style

Great update.. Appreciate the vertical style.. Just my opinion.. Change the vertical to 2 row.. At first i thought the clock will be in vertical.. Lol.. Currently stable on my device..
Btw.. Maybe can have a theme that use current system font.. As ppl sometimes changes e font on their device to suite their like..

Thank you so much! I will change it in the next update
Sadly, I cannot add font - the clock uses only images  But, I can make more styles (currently working on it). '
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've made a small update. It solves RuntimeException crash (hopefully - I've made some improvements and now the service is less heavy when it updates the clock). Plus, I've added one new simple style!
UPDATE 1.0.6.:
+ Improved energy-efficiency (fixes crashes on some devices)

thx for the update..
i would like to request for an option to hide the ":" in horizontal layout, just as in vertical layout..
i think it would look very geeky and cool..

had problem with v1.0.7 but fixed in v1.0.8..
about that new "digit 1 spacing".. i think its not good looking with the uniform spacing digits.. there are just too much spacing when the time is, e.g., 11:21.. is it possible to have an option to turn off this spacing (and have the display like the old versions)?
i thought you mentioned the digits were images, so maybe this request is not easily done.. im okay with that if this is the case.. thx anyway for the nice work!
