Hey guys. Is there any way I can tell if my phone's efs is corrupt?
Thanks!
Not really. What are your symptoms / why are you asking?
Well my Sim gets recognized but I can't call anyone and it says that the phone is in airplane mode. Also I can't change the preferred network type and it stays on LTE/GSM (PRL)
Rooted or not?
Yup, rooted
When you do anything in recovery do you get any errors about persist?
No, I don't think so
Have you tried to wipe / flash stock cache image?
How do I do that?
Recovery / fastboot
Well I've tried to flash to stock, when I flashed stock KitKat the imei would show incorrect but I could turn on the radio, but now with lollipop the imei is correct but the radio can't be turned on
Wipe cache from recovery
Just did it and nothing changed
Dunno then. Can only really suggest flashing back to stock kk again and if the same as before, contact lg support.
OK thanks anyways!

So,after i failed to install Carbon Rom i got bootloop and i flashed Eu firmware and i can't open up wifi,i mean that toogle. I got the phone from italy, what should i do?
Wipe your phone throughly. I.e. Wipe /system /data /cache through recovery. And then reflash the firmware and you'll have your WiFi working as usual.
Yeah,i resolved that, but know the mobile data is not working...I have this problems..Now what i should do?... I am leaving in some hours in another country and i need 3G..Help me please..
Do the same mentioned in 2nd post, all you issues will be resolved.
As you said you're in other country, you might not have access to PC and assuming that you have a recovery installed on your phone. Backup your phone (in case to revert back if anything goes wrong). Do a factory test. Don't mess with system only wipe user data and cache only. Reboot your phone. It should with fine .
Just for your knowledge: Mostly 3G and WiFi issue occurs when a dirty flash is done.
Now it's my turn. Pressed factory reset by accident in boot loader. Can get to TWRP but it says E: Unable to mount storage
e:Unable to mount /sdcard/TWRP/twps. when trying to read settings file. etc...
Advanced File manager in TWRP shows /sdcard/TWRP
Any ideas???? If I try to mount data in TWRP my Mac wants to initialize.
Thanks
TWRP shows internal storage 0 mb
I flashed the stock recovery, then ran it and somehow it booted right into CM11. Everything was lost, but it's working again.
Factory reset wipe everything! Including SD card.

Possibly, but how come CM11 was still on there? I think that the Boot Loader in Moonshine's factory reset is not compatible with CM11. Luckily the stock recovery fixed things for me.

I had the same issue, pressed by mistake factory reset in bootloader some time ago. I was pressing vol down to reach recovery, there was a slight lag and I pressed it a second time the immediately I've pressed power...so cursor has jumped 2 rows then executed. I've solved it only by flashing stock recovery and resetting to factory settings again, then flashed TWRP.
Now why you still had CM11...well not 100% sure but in TWRP when you wipe to factory the system partition is not formatted. I've paid attention once to the messages during a wipe and it was formatting data, cache, dalvik and android secure but not system. A reason can be that while flashing any ROM, the install script formats system at the beginning so theres no need to do that with factory reset.
Now I can only think that the factory reset from bootloader does the same and system is not wiped. Theoretically it is correct...system is read only especially on a stock non rooted device and resetting it to factory practically means that any trace of personal settings/aps and so on should be erased. And those are not stored on the system partition. There is also no hidden place on the phone where a recovery image of the original android OS is kept so this is not like on the laptops where you reset to factory and Windows is reinstalled from the recovery partition. My guess is that the factory reset just wipes all partitions that contain personal data and settings and leave system intact. So after a wipe and reboot is like you first start it.
You still had CM11 cause the wipe didn't format system...If anyone has a better explanation I would be glad to hear it. So From my point of view nothing went wrong and has nothing to do with the Maximus recovery or it's compatibility with CM11. It would have happen the same if you have used any other stock recovery
Factory reset, resets youre phone to original settings.
Anyway, its good that the phone works.

Yes. And it is not formatting system when doing this. So any os is installed will be kept

I don't want to try it again but I wonder if moonshine's factory reset is incompatible with cm11?
Dont understand what do you mean by "incompatible". The factory reset from bootloader is not the same thing as the one from a custom recovery. You shouldn't do a factory reset from bootloader regardless of the ROM you're using
Moonshine is an S-Off method, I didn't used it myself so I don't know what factory reset option is in there

I never said anything about the custom recovery. If you should never use it, why is it there and why does it make the SD card not available?
Wow, HTC says you can use it here:
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-x-att/howto/313779.html
I'm sure you know something others like me don't, but I when I mean "incompatible" I mean that I don't believe that it should make the sdcard unavailable and make the phone think it has zero MB. I think what you might have missed is that I used factory reset from the custom boot loader from moonshine. I was wondering if that factory reset was compatible - that's all.
Again, it was a mistake - it's not like I chose it on purpose. Thank you for the help.

The reset to factory from bootloader exists because on stock ROM there's no custom recovery that has that option....so it's in bootloader. For it to work properly though, you must have the stock recovery also. If you have a custom recovery like twrp/cwm and use the wipe from bootloader it'll mess your sd cause phone is not able to perform the wipe properly with that custom recovery. That's why, in order to get back to normal you should flash back stock recovery and perform the wipe from bootloader again.

Thank you for the clarification. It makes sense. Too bad that reset is so close to the recovery command. It's pretty weird that I didn't have to run the wipe from the stock boot loader again. It ran and rebooted the phone into CM11. Anyway, I am glad I am back to running. Thanks.
Hi
Quick question I was changing recovery I was on TWRP and decided to change to philz cwm I flashed it booted phone and there was no IMEI in status. I then decided to reflash TWRP which fixed my IMEI I am confused why it would do this, any info on this would be appreciated.

Bad cache partition probably. Flashign a recovery wont "break" your IMEI and teh fact that ti came back means it ws never broken but sometimes when the /cache partition goes bad, IMEI appears to be lost. Usually formatting or fastboot flashign cache.img fixes that

I too have the same issue. I've reverted everything back to stock, flashed cache.img, flashed latest stock image directly from Google, and still 0 for IMEI. Nothing seems to fix this.
Hello i recently use SlimLP rom until suddenly it was stuck on boot loop . I thought that it must be the problem of the custom ROM and i try to flash other ROM but it seems that i can't proceed to the procedure of wipe data/factory reset because it kept restarting after i checked that option . wiping dalvik cache is fine though . I also did format/data on my solo attempt to fix it but still it won't work. After reading some forum I decided to flash stock firmware but it kept failing on Odin . anyone know what might be the problem of this ? Did I just hardbricked my tab to the point of can't be repaired ? thanks in advance
Try to delete everything in data manually through twrp file manager (Advanced->File Manager)

Then, install the latest common twrp by Andi from here: http://andi34.github.io/recoveries_tab2.html
and try it (first try also to wipe data with twrp)

I can't change my rom, wipe / format doesn't work. Nothing changed after flashing with Odin.
16 GB Tab 2 have a known faulty EMMC (MAG2GA). It can happen, that your EMMC get “read only”, so you can’t perform any write actions (also you can’t format) anymore.
From the EMMC data sheet:
5.1.7 End of Life Management:
The end of device life time is defined when there is no more available reserved block for bad block management in the device. When the device reaches to end of its life time, device shall change its state to permanent write protection state. In this case, write operation is not allowed any more but read operation are still allowed.
But, reliability of the operation can not be guaranteed after end of life.
On a faulty EMMC firmware it happens a lot faster.
What are the symptoms?
Uninstalled apps and deleted files are back after a rebootFormating the storage doesn’t work (after reboot the old rom and apps are back)You can flash whatever you like via Odin - it showes “passed” but after reboot nothing changed (e.g. still no StockRom or still the old Recovery you had previously installed)… there might be some more, but only to mention some …
In most cases, the issue can be fixed by a EMMC firmware update, but you need someone who’s able to do it (possible via ISP, nothing you can do esylie at home yourself). In some bad cases you need to find someone who can replace your EMMC.

Hello,
I tried to install Magisk without TWRP on my poco X3 PRO. I was stucked on boot, but I solved it by re-flashing with stock boot.img and wiping the whole data of my phone using the MIUI recovery mode (I did not use a custom recovery) and I rebooted my smartphone. Then, all good, configured my phone, enabled USB debugging, restored my data from a backup, etc... I skipped the wifi setup on configuration, so now I realized my phone does not recognize any wifi network. First, I thought it could be a problem from my router, but then I checked on my computer and it recognizes my wifi network and the whole neighborhood's wifi, so it was a problem from the phone. I wiped my data, so I think it is useless wiping again the cache partition. I strongly prefer to avoid touching the partitions anymore, since I do not want to brick it again, and also avoid wiping data. I saw another question on this forum with the same plot, but I did not use TWRP, so I think I should not use the same method. Again, I do not want to touch partitions nor wiping data unless essential. Any solution?
Thanks in advanced.
PD: I upload the stock boot.img and the patched boot.img.
try flashing stock firmware via miflash.
if it doesnt work then just flash a rom to see if it does.

It is possible to do it using fastboot. I runned "fastboot erase cache" and it does not work.
Just reflash the rom, not just boot, this will probably solve your problems.
