[Completed] [Q] Rooting GT-I9500 with baseband version I9500XXUGNF6 Problems - XDA Assist

Hi, I am having problems in rooting my S4 I9500 with baseband I9500XXUGNF6. I have tried Kinggo, iRoot, and Oddin to root my phone, but all have failed. I have attached a screen shot of my phones specs.
Can anyone help me in finding a solution to my problem, so that I can get my phone rooted. Thank you

Hi,
Here is a guide on rooting your device, read the first post carefully. You can ask for help here too,

Thank you Darth
I followed the instructions to the letter in the link you provided. However, it never worked. I failed to get it to load into the Philz recovery mode. I tried half a dozen times and still failed. I did a lot of googling and finally discovered why I was failing to root my S4. My S4 came with something called Knox preinstalled. Along the way, Knox had been compromised and had gone from 0x0 to 0x1.
I did a lot more googling, and I found the following link helpful: http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-safe-knox/366118-solution-how-permanently-remove-knox.html
So for those who may have a similar problem to mine, this is what I did. I downloaded the CF-Auto-Root from http://download.chainfire.eu/326/CF-Root1/CF-Auto-Root-ja3g-ja3gxx-gti9500.zip?retrieve_file=1
I then extracted the contents from the zip file and used the Odin3-v3.07 that came with the zip file, to root my phone using the CF-Auto-Root-ja3g-ja3gxx-gti9500.tar.md5 file.
After doing its thing, it restarted my phone and auto rooted my phone before re-booting again. I now had a rooted phone, and I was then able to follow the rest of the instructions given in the first link I shared above to permanently remove Knox from my phone.
I hope this will be of help to others, and would love to hear of any other success stories like mine.

[Q] Samsung GS3 I9300 softbricked after CWM install

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum and I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong section or if this has already been asked and answered somewhere before (i did search beforehand, but didn't find anything related to my spesific problem)
I'll take you through step-by-step what I did and what went wrong:
I decided to root my Galaxy S3 (I9300 international model) and install CM10 on it. I followed this guide on cnet on how to root it, and then I followed a guide on droidforums
Underway I noticed that the bootloader unlocker was made for the verizon GS3 but I tried it and it worked anyway. Also the Clockwork mod linked to in the latter guide is for the verizon GS3, but I managed to find and download one for my spesific device.
Anyway, I rooted my device and ulocked the bootloader, and used odin to flash clockwork mod over to my device, and this is when it went wrong. Odin gave me the green "pass" message, and my phone rebooted. But it just got stuck at the "samsung GT-I9300" screen, and wouldn't boot into the stock OS which was still installed. But CWM was there and working. I then tried to install one of the custom roms linked to in the guide. The first one i tried would, for some reason, not install. The other installed successfully according to CWM, but my phone still wouldn't boot past the samsung i9300-logo.I tried several different OS's with no luck, until I finally managed to unbrick my phone by flashing a .PIT file and the stock OS.
So yeah, I managed to fix my device, it's not up and running like it used to, but I'm back at square one and I don't understand what went wrong. Could it have been the bootloader unlocker that wasn't meant for my device?
I'm not very experienced in this area so I would really appreciate any help so that I can try it again and succeed!
Thanks in advance

[Completed] Root Galaxy Tablet SCH-I905 Tryed everything

I've tryed everything to try and root my Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 4G(Verizon) SCH-I905. I've used Bin4ry, tryed to flash cwm via odin(says it successfully flashes, then i try to flash superuser, the recovery still says android.) I've searched and tryed everything to no avail. Can anyone point me to some good directions on how to root this dang device.
Specs:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 16GB
SCH-I905
Current Android Version: 4.0.4
Anything else just ask.
Hi,
Please give me a few minutes to see what I can come up with as I don't find that device on XDA.
Back soon with my findings- check Post #4.
I'm pretty sure this is the guide that can help. It even claims to be super easy.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1657758
People report success in the thread. But as hinted above, may want to ask in this thread if its for sure for your model.. Before flashing anything.
Good luck!
Edit: I looked through the thread a bit....apparently its outdated. Also, there's posts claiming there's no root method for 4.0.4 for the i905. Perhaps my colleague above will have better luck.

Edit: Here is a post on XDA that will hopefully guide you to success in rooting your SCH I905.
And a bit more info from Google.
Also be cautious as Verizon models have been known to be difficult or even not possible to root.
As always, read carefully before proceeding and remember to make a backup first.
Update: Tryed using this meathod: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837605
Official ClockworkMod 6.0.1.2 Recovery:
When i try t flash it says
"Write data size is too big[8|SOS]! [Data:5685248(B) -> Part: 2560/2560(2kb)]
Tegra_Nand_Write: Error to DownloadPartition_odin![0xffffffff]"
The problem I see here is most the guides and posts about that device are quite old. Links end up dead after so long and the files are hard to find.
Its not part of XDA, so use at own risk , but the link "Google" that Pony Express posted may be your best bet.
Hopefully it works out. ?

I just keep getting the same crap "Signature verification failed" I still have the "Android system recovery <3e>" I've tryed to get CWM recovery flashed but get the error i posted in the last reply i posted.
I can only find out dated info here on XDA. And dead links.
Did you try the Google link above?
Also i've tryed that google one 5 times to no avail says everything goes smooth but then i try root checker or look for SU, nope lol. I mean i've never rooted a tablet before but many phones like Droid X, Droid X2, Rzr Maxx, Rzr Maxx HD. So i mean i know the gist of what should happen yet nothing.
Well, honestly, I could post a dozen links to other websites here....but I don't know what works and what doesn't out there.
My advice at this point. Google "root sch-i905 2014". Look for things posted from this year. I've seen a lot, but can't read them all, or try them obviously. Lol
Hopefully you find what you need. Seems there's others as frustrated as you with the same device. That's what happens when devices age.
Again, good luck!

It has been known to happen that once root has been achieved on a device, a manufacturer or carrier will come back and provide an update that causes the root exploit not to work. I have had that personal experience while helping a friend root a device a few months ago.
In summary - your process appears to be sound - unless however there is a device specific recovery ( the one above is for a galaxy s 3 ) that is released after the last carrier/manufacturer update it is likely not to work.
Well thanks for the help anyways I guess I'm SOL, sucks because I don't even like this POS figured I'd like it more rooted....

[Completed] Root Samsung-sgh-i747 4.4.2

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-I747 4.4.2 I have tried for 2 days to Root the Device. I have tried TowelRoot V3 which states my Device is not supported. I tried it based on the comments given from people claiming to have the same phone as mine down to the model. I have tried all 3 codes that were offered with the program, and none of them worked. I tried Root Genius next at the end of the cycle the Program would not root my device. After studying XDA forums further, and reading thru many threads I came across the posting below:
(Couldn't Post due to new users 10 post rule)
(Tried Using Odin3-v3.07.exe with CF-Auto-Root.tar)When I followed the Steps, and got to Step #10 I did not get the same results noted. Odin gave the message Recovery in the Green Box when it got to the end of the Load out instead of saying PASS! it said RESET! I thought possibly the program was correcting something corrupt, so I tried it a second time, but the process repeated. I have Root Checker Basic downloaded, and it did not note a Root on my device. The "M" is the Canadian version I have the ATT phone without the M in the model number. This is the closest post I could find to the Phone I have.

You tried this CF-AutoRoot: [SGH-I747/M] CF-Auto-Root?
In post #2 is a detailed installation instruction and in post #3 you will find the download link for "SGH-I747" (don't use the SGH-I747M version).
Should work to rot your device.
If not, please register on xda and post in the corresponding Q&A thread.
TowelRoot only works on older firmware versions. So to root with this app, you will need to "downgrade" your firmware (at least the kernel) first.
And check this thread for additional information anbout your device: |Guide|How-To| Root & Install Custom Recovery for 4.3 / 4.4 Update |16 July 2014 |.
Good luck !
Thread closed. Thank you.

[Completed] Bootloop on SM G900T1 using CF auto

Hi,
I have rooted a few devices, however this is the first time I have encountered a bootloop error.
Specifically I used Odin and ran CF Auto Root (kltemetropcs smg900t1) from Chainfires DL site
chainfire 405 CF-Root
Device is a Galaxy S5 G900T1 (metro pcs) running Lollipop.
Oden successfully completed all threads. Didn't show any errors, however the phone never finished its boot cycle,
it stops at the carrier logo screen.
I noticed that odin deletes any previous files so I tried a second time using the same CFroot, still the same outcome.
I was thinking of doing a factory reset after reading some other forums, or reinstalling factory ROMs though this is getting to the limit on my knowledge.
I'm unsure of what I should try next, or even where to ask.
Anyone able to help or know where I can ask?

Hi 8thvision
Thanks for using XDA Assist and I can assure you that you came to the right place :good:
As you, I'm a happy owner of a S5 and will try to guide you through this. Please excuse me but, as you didn't commented the what you already reviewed, I may be repetitive here.
The first resource you should access is Chainfire's main thread regarding the S5 (link below). All experienced user reports are in there and they may be helpful for your problem.

In the case your doubts remain, I would ask you to access our experts at the below forum that should be able to tackle your problem:

I Cannot, For The Life Of Me, Find Help

I followed a guide step by step I found on this site to root my Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo SM-G903W. My phone is currently stuck with a 'RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING' message. I've no idea where to find the proper root file (the one I chose, to the best of my knowledge, is the one I needed). I can't boot into recovery mode. I don't know what to do, I'm desperate. Can someone please help me fix my phone to be either rooted or just back to normal?

Hello and welcome to xda-assist,
we actually don't do technical support, we're here to guide you to the most suitable board on xda, unfortunately the phone you're using has no specific device Forum, make sure you give proper information, lots of important information is missing, like what guide (link?), what root method (PC /Odin?), what root file..
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/guide-how-to-question-t3464199
Correct approach is normally to flash a custom recovery with Odin and then flash supersu zip out of your (new) custom recovery or use CF AutoRoot which automates the process, i wouldn't suggest any kingroot, framaroot, towelroot, etc. Apps.. Unfortunately a device specific forum isn't available..
Check post 3 from this thread if you are on Android Marshmallow
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-t3298654
For lollipop
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/galaxy-s5-neo-sm-g903f-rooted-chainfire-t3280067 (users reported that the g903f file works for g903w too)
Read carefully and use search function of this linked threads..
For returning to stock do a Google search for "return to stock g903w" or use Samsung Smart Switch on your PC.
