Kindle root - General Questions and Answers

I didn't find a specific forum on the kindle fire hd 6" (mine is 4th gen), I apologize..so a move would be appreciated.
Mines the Amazon kindle fire hd 6" 4th gen . I installed Google play services and the others like sis say to, though I still get GPServices not installed errors and it don't work. I 've looked into rooting but I'm unsure a good safe way. Many tutorials from years ago..rather have a current one or someone who knows what they talking about maybe direct me to a good root tut.I'm guessing the 6 and 7 done the same way since most are about rooting 7 etc? Thanks for any and all help.

[Completed] Rooted Kindle Fire HD 7" Third generation OTA update

So I rooted my Kindle Fire HD 7" 3rd Gen with Kingroot and everything went great. After a day or so my kindle decided to do an OTA while I was asleep (my fault for not blocking the update). When I woke up I found that my kindle gets stuck on the update during the "Fire is updating... Starting Applications" screen. It will remain stuck at this screen no matter how long I let it sit. My question is how do I fix this? I have little to zero experience with any amazon/android devices. I have googled just about everything and haven't found any solution other than Kindle Fire First Aide. I have a fastboot cable but I was hoping for some direction/help from anyone before I go down the road of possibly bricking my Kindle because my lack of knowledge. Thanks to anyone who can give me a helping hand.

[Q] How To Root Kindle Fire 3rd Gen Running FireOS 4.5.5

Hi all,
I've been looking to root my kindle fire for a while now. I have been sideloading apps for several months now, but some of the apps I would really like are incompatible with my tablet.
I am running FireOS 4.5.5 on my 3rd Generation Kindle Fire HD. Note that this is a now relatively old tablet, as I believe it was released in 2013.
I have read and understand threads on how to root Kindle Fire 4th Gen running 4.5.5 and Kindle Fire 3rd Gen running 4.5.2, but I cannot find a suitable guide for my in between tablet. I don't feel comfortable winging it, since I am completely unfamiliar with Amazon's custom version of Android.
Unfortunately, the easy root path of upgrading to 5.0.n and then rolling back to 4.5.3 is unavailable to me, as the developer's version is not made available to 3rd generation tablets.
With this information, can anyone tell me how to root my tablet? I don't necessarily need a "noob step-by-step" guide, but at least a general outline would be appreciated.
Also, this is my first post; hopefully I'm following all the rules and regulations!
Thanks!
ditto
I also am very interested in finding a successful way of root the same device. It seems this is maybe the only kfhd that hasnt been successfully rooted. I am a noob though and may need step by step response.

I give up

I've been trying to root my Kindle Fire without success for several days as well as my Galaxy 4 tablet, and it is just too much to deal with for a couple of tablets.
However, I've decided I do want a rooted tablet, something without all the bloatware and that isn't tracking every search I do or order I make to Amazon, or even an email I send to my doctor for all I know. So I 'm asking for help deciding what to buy, as you guys all know way more than I do about this stuff.
What is the best tablet to own if you want a rooted device? I'll be using it for gaming (Clash of Clans, nothing to graphic intensive) and the standard things like watching YouTube videos or maybe a movie on Netflix.
I kneel before the great android sages and ask for your guidance. What tablet would you buy if you wanted a quality device that was easy to root?
Thank you!

What are the specific model numbers of your kindle fire and galaxy tab 4?
What issues are you having in getting them rooted?

As for the Kindle Fire, nothing above Fire OS 5.1.2 can be rooted.
There are several threads about this in

Fire HD 8 12th Gen sideload Google services instructions.

Hey y'all.
Firstly apologies if the answer to this is on the forum somewhere. Can't seem to find it!
I bought a Fire HD 8 12th gen for my daughter for Christmas on black Friday.
Going to unbox it this morning and set it up ready for her.
It's been a while since I had a fire HD but know I need to sideload Google services etc to get some of the apps she wants.
I know there were some initial issues with Sideloading on the newest version.....is this still the case?
Is there an idiots guide anyone can point me to?
Should I skip setup when booting it up and keep to the original firmware version? Will this help?
Thanks in advance all
