[Completed] searching for custom rom / recovery for Diaotec cx-919 - XDA Assist

I bought a Diaotec CX-919 from amazon, and supposedly it is capable of more than it has done so far. I don't like playing with it without being able to install cwm or twrp so I am looking for any info on installing a recovery and alternate roms. The one that is on it is 4.4.2 which was a pain to root, and apparently the kernel won't let me OC to the advertised 1.6 - 1.8 GHZ, and the best Wifi connection it even detects is 802.11g. Supposedly it is capable of "n". I'm guessing most of the complaints I have about the device can be solved with changing / modifying software, but I haven't found much reference to it online. The closest I have found is generic info about similar devices using the RK3188 chip. Any help or pointing me in the right direction for help is appreciated.

Hi,
I can't find anything relevant on XDA for your device. You will need to ask about it here,
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!

And flashing anything not specifically made for your exact device model number could destroy it.

Need to develop Nextwindow touchscreen driver for Android 4.1

I'm working on getting Nextwindow 2700 series overlays to work with an MK802 III running Android 4.1. I am not experienced enough to pull this off myself, so I was wondering if one of the knowledgeable people on this forum would be able to either program one for me for a price or point me in the right direction. If you're interested, please reply and I will message you my email address.
If this was posted in the wrong section, I apologize to the mods and please move as necessary. Thank you!
Hi I do need that driver too for a 2750, have you checked this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0N9cR08u-0U
It could be a similar development to this one, let me know if you accomplished something please, thanks.
How is it going?

[Completed] Archos 64 Xeon *root*

Hi all,
Looking for some info on rooting this "Phablet".
I seem to remember that most MediaTek powered device's can easily rooted,is this true..?
MediaTek MT 6582 @1.3Ghz (Arm CPU Cortex-A7 architecture 28nm 4cores) Mali 400MP (Arm GPU)
Yes internal storage is a cheap 4GB...!! Hence need root access.
Not to concerned about bricking it as I would normally be, somehow I sense most at XDA have cracked it....
I've been using advice from here since
Froyo 2.xxx onwards *root* access granted on a GT-S5570.
Most grateful for advice on rooting this, I really need to shift apps and de-clutter " bloatware"...
Regards Angela
Hi!
Hopefully this will get you rooted. Read the opening post carefully before starting anything.
And any questions/issues/concerns... Its also a good thread to ask in,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160490
Good luck! ?

Also, if backing up is an option before rooting....would be a good idea to.

[Completed] nabi 2 root (what needs downloaded on tablet and what needs downloaded to computer)

Need links to everything that needs downloaded to root my nabi 2, need to know what needs downloaded to my tablet and what needs downloaded to computer. I have PDA net on my tablet, thought it was needed on computer. Trying to sort out everything before trying to root since I don't have my own computer. I know I won't have backup, but i don't care. Only want root so I can delete all kid apps and bloatware, and use root only apps.
Android version 4.1.1
Kernel 3.1.10
Product version 2.3
Don't know if nabilab download includes everything I need. Apparently nabilab version 2 doesn't work with 4.1.1
I'm a newb.
Hi there!
Well I found a very long thread on your device...perhaps read the opening post then start at the last page and read through it a bit backwards.
>Android Development and Hacking>Miscellaneous Android Development>Nabi 2 Root and Gapps Install
And another possibility...
>Android Development and Hacking>Miscellaneous Android Development>[TOOL][NABI2] NabiLab - Root, Play, Recovery
You will need to reach 10 constructive posts before you can post in those threads and ask further questions, so I suggest you look around and contribute some useful comments where you can.
Good luck!

If those threads don't help you, you will need to ask for help here.....

And another possible solution suggested to me by a colleague, @bhiga ...
> Android Development and Hacking > Miscellaneous Android Development > [TOOL][NABI] NabiLab GUI - Root, Play, Recovery for JR, XD, 2
He had used this in the past with success. ?
Oh, and the computer you use for this one needs Internet access for sure.

Hi,
I can't find anything on XDA about your device, but one of the first 2 for methods in this directory may possibly work for you.... Use at your own risk of course,
XDA Root Directory
As far as a newer android version goes.... Unless someone stays development for your device, you will probably have to wait for the manufacturer to update you.... Assuming they do.
Good luck!

If those methods don't work out for you, you will need to ask for help here....

Hi, thanks for the answer.
That seems some what dangerous method to root :crying: , but I will see if it will work :fingers-crossed:
Unfortunately I think they wont update it to a later android version. I was thinking if I could update through an unofficial way?
The main reason is to use the apps mentioned in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2329080 , to remove the buggy touch buttoms, that sometimes when pressing back it also takes screenshots or and reduces the volume, also happens when Im just scrolling the setting menu or in some games, that is really annoying . And to reduce the resolution to see if I can get some better fps in games, though the gpu is a mali 400. But that requires 4.3 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nomone.resolution_changer
Rooting has nothing to do with updating... In a way.
Yes, developers can often create aosp roms for devices with Android versions higher than the devices official last version. But I can't find any for your device. And yes, you need root and a custom recovery for flashing roms. So those root methods probably won't help with that.
So it's up to the manufacturer to update you.... And they may have stopped updating your device, or just haven't yet. Updates can come very slow, if ever for less popular devices I'm afraid.
As far as Rooting being risky, yes it can be. Everything we do when altering our devices can be risky. It comes with the territory.

If you want to avoid risk for now, I suggest asking for help in the 2nd link I gave you. ?

[Completed] [Q] TwinTAB T73GQ1 CPU (and GPU) overclock

General specs:
google "TwinTAB T73GQ1 specifications"
on the site and also on the retail box, the clock speed is @ 1.5 GHz
but Hardware Info reports:
Twin TAB T73GQ1
Android version 4.2.2
Kernel version - 3.4.5
MKT 8389, Quad core arm V7 processor max freq 1.2 GHz (cpu-z reports same max clock speed)
Gpu - POWER VR SGX 544 MP (this also mismatches with "Neon 3D" which is on the site in the GPU field; in specifications section)
See the issue yet? 1.2 GHz and 1.5 GHz has considerable effects in performance (in my opinion). That is the reason why i want to overclock my device to at least 1.5 GHz . . . . at least. I've rooted my phone, did some few noob level kernel tweaks( i still consider myself a noob ). I know that i need to flash a custom, open source kernel, to actually enable OC . . . . . . and that's where i need some help ,I don't know which kernel to flash. I am also aware of the CyanogenMod ; but guess what, my device is not on the supported list. I didn't take the risk to "install it anyway" or manually .
please help? :fingers-crossed:
Thanks!
excuse me if I sound weird or inappropriate by any means .. I'm new here in XDA and did't acheive a good grade in o'level English.
Hi,
I believe you created a Visitor question on this earlier? Either way, I can not find anything relevant on XDA for your device. Chances are the only way you'll see any development for this device is if you learn to develop yourself unfortunately.
You can ask here if anyone knows of anything at all,
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
And if Google search has nothing on this, then it likely means there's nothing. That's the pitfalls of more obscure devices unfortunately.
Good luck!
---------- Post added at 01:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:06 PM ----------
Oh... And never install anything not made for your exact device, or you'll likely destroy it.
The answer to the visitor question seemed inadequate at first . . . hoped to find more as an xda member;and i did
Thanks Darth
