I bought a used HTC Inspire 4g/DHD and it had already been flashed with "Jellytime." Thats all I really know. I know the basics of flashing and such. But here is the problem. Everything seemed in order, so i gave the phone to a friend to use, and then it started having a ton of issues. Video would go all wonky in landscape mode, phone would lock up, become unresponsive etc. So i attempted a factory restore via the boot menu and clockworkmod. Everything seemed to be going all good, then suddenly it gave me 2 errors saying it could not find and could not mount recovery files.
I thought, okay, weird, and let the phone finish doing what it is doing and restarted. It took probably 5-6 minutes after the restart and i finally got to the first screen to setup android (select language) and got a slew of pop up error messages saying XXX app has crashed or is not responding or that files were missing. and would not let me progress past that first screen. Now the phone will not even boot past the "jellytime" logo. (HTC logo flashes first, then jellytime animation and just stays there).
So i am at a loss as to what to do next because i cant get into android to enable USB debugging to use whatever process to reflash a suitable ROM. My friend really needs a phone back so a prompt response would be appreciated.

Maybe you have to re-flash the whole ROM. Startig freshly (with a factory reset / wipe data) is recommended.
And don't give the device to this friend again
If you have further questions, please ask in the Inspire 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.
Good luck !

I posted over in the other forum. But my issue is that I cannot do the factory restore and data wipe. It will not complete. It give me a missing recovery file error. And it can't mount the missing recovery files. It is why I am so stuck.

As I can see, you have already posted your question in the Q&A forum ([Q] soft bricked or screwed?).
So now you have to be patient and wait for someone to answer there.
Thanks for your understanding. Thread closed.

Hello everyone,
I searched the forums for awhile but could not find a satifying answer for my question. So i am hoping you guys will have an answer for me.
First of all i would like to point out that i am not looking for an answer for how to unbrick the phone. There are several guides and hopefully when i get home i will be able to fix the problem. *Fingers crossed*
I did not have my Galaxy S for long. After getting it and installing KIES and updating my firmware the battery life what terrible so I rooted the phone and then installed Gingerbread 2.3.6 JVU. it worked like a charm.
Yesterday when I was playing with the CWM application, I decided that i was going to back up the phone and backed it up using the application. This morning one of my programs was acting weird and I decided to restore the backup I have done yesterday.
Upon going into applications and CWM, I chose the restore option and started the process. Everything was going smoothly, the phone was plugged in to the charger as well.
When the phone rebooted after the initial process I am stuck at logo screen. i can go into download mode (That is why I am hoping that I will be able to unbrick it) however that is as far as the phone goes. When I try to go into CWM Recovery mode, I am once again welcomed by the phone getting stuck at logo screen.
Does anyone have any idea as to why this might have happened? To avoid future problems is there any extra steps I should have taken before using the CWM restore function?
Thanks for the help.

Maybe your backup was corrupted somehow. You could have tried wiping the dalvik cache after restoring your backup (before rebooting), but its too late now. Since you can get into download mode, you can easily fix the problem (your device is just soft bricked - nothing to worry too much about).

The phone rebooted automatically. Did not give me the chance to do anything beforehand.
As you said the phone was soft bricked so when i got home that day i just fixed it. No problem. However I am really really into getting to find out how a 1 day old back up can get corrupted.
Hi. I successfully flashed blisspop rom to my SM-T700 tablet after flashing the stock rooted os. It pretty much worked perfectly. The problem here is that I never reset my dalvik cache and I'm not sure if blisspop does automatically for me or not, so I'm suspecting this is the problem. Anyway, I decided to reset to factory defaults to get space back on my internal sd card. I reset, and my tablet starts to boot into TWRP recovery, but I then experienced what people are always talking about-- bootloop. Now, I was going to reboot into recovery again, maybe it was a one-time glitch. But of course, my recovery goes away EVERY TIME I REBOOT, so now I'm stuck with the default recovery, which gets me nowhere. I try to do a normal boot, and surprise! IT DOESN'T START. So I get android studio and try to see if I can connect with my tablet through the built in adb console. I can't because apparently I need to accept the computer or something, but I can't, because the darn thing won't start up!! So there's my problem. I've tried adb, flashing stock rom, even attempting to corrupt it by pulling the battery when its starting so I can somehow reset it. No luck. Please help!
Hi, boot into download mode and flash the stock firmware. I own a rooted Huawei Ascend Mate 2 on 4.2. stock ROM. The Huawei ROM is aggressive at killing apps, and I decided perhaps moving Kik into the system would help prevent it from being killed so much (I miss messages more often than I get notified). Guess that was stupid, as now my screen will not come on after the booting animation. ... It just goes black. Clicking the power/unlock button will make it vibrate quickly, but that is all. I can reboot by pressing and holding, and the boot animation comes back up, but goes black again. The phone appears to be on even though the screen keeps sleeping, my computer detects it. I cannot confirm if it registers charging, as I have my LED disabled. I do not have a nandroid backup (that IS, indeed, stupid of me), so I know a factory reset would bootloop the device due to the modifications I have made. Please, any suggestions on how to wake this thing?
I dont need to hear "Well sounds like it's baked lolz" because im already afraid that's what im looking at.
Update:
I've been trying to push TWRP in, and struggling.
In Command, it seems everything is ok up until a certain point. I go through all the code, then try to 'reboot-bootloader' but it comes back with 'error: device offline'
How can I get around this to fix this thing??
Im using Win7 if it helps.
Bump
TWRP is installed now after a lot of fuss. Can't get the stock Rom to install now. It keeps saying 'error flashing zip '/sdcard/TWRP_BACKUPS_stock-system-with-root.zip'
Ive wiped cache, dalvik cache, wiped the previous ROM (which also was stock), and the error keeps happening.
Any help??? I would really appreciate someone contributing to this thread.

URGENT HELP NEEDED -- "com.android.systemui has stopped" bootloop -- Verizon LG G3
I apologize in advance if this is posted in the wrong section, but I need some urgent help with my phone. I posted in this section hoping to get some quick responses.
I have a LG G3 with rooted stock 4.4.2 rom running xposed.
So I pulled my phone out of my pocket today only to see the Verizon boot logo in effect. I was thinking "that's weird, guess my phone needed to reboot? Strange." But the only problem is it never stopped. It will only boot up to the lock screen and occasionally it will display an error message telling me the systemui has stopped. Then about 10 seconds later, it reboots itself. It continues this process until I pull the battery.
I've tried booting into safe mode, no luck. It doesn't even actually boot into safe mode (it doesn't say safe mode in the bottom left corner.) Then it just reboots again,
I tried wiping the cache, no luck.
I don't want to just do a factory reset because that hasn't seemed to help anyone else with this issue as far as I've seen. I have not found any helpful information on how to fix this problem.
And no, I haven't changed anything lately that could have messed it up. A couple days ago I cut off some wakeup paths for Google Play Services via Greenify, but I don't think that's the cause of the problem.
My question is, what do I do? I feel lost on this subject. Normally I've always been able to diagnose problems on my own, but not in this situation.
I have all my apps and data backed up to Titanium Backup on my SD card if that's of any relevance.
Any suggestions?
If you can go to CWM just flash abother ROM like android L
Sent from LG L3 via XDA App / Wyslane z LG L3 przez aplikacje XDA

How would I go about doing that with a device that won't boot up?
I'm not familiar with flashing ROMS and things like that.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to fix it and keep the phone the way it was. I understand that may not be possible though

Flash the twrp recovery: http://dottech.org/172848/how-to-install-twrp-recovery-in-lg-g3-for-verizon-guide/
Then boot to the recovery and go to Advanced---> Fix Permissions-->Swipe to confirm.
Hit thanks if i helped you!
Hello, I need serious help with my phone.
So, after a long while of having my phone rooted, and had a case of boot loop with twrp, I decided to go back to stock os and hung up the root days. I thought i did it right by getting a stock os and flashed it, and it worked for couple months, until yesterday.
My phone keeps going into Cyanogen Recovery, I tried rebooting so many times, once it did boot up to OS, but it went back after i restarted phone or it died.
Now I can't no longer get back, I thought factory resetting will work but it didn't. (Tried both wipe cache partition and Full factory reset option from the recovery) I found unroot your phone toolkits, thinking it could help fix my problem and just unroot/ give me back to OS (I wished i found this before flashing that custom stock rom).
But the toolkit doesn't work for me, it finds adb devices, but it cant find fast boot devices, because my phone cant even go into fast boot.
I tried manual, and the option from the recovery, it keeps going back to recovery. I have an option for apply update, and then apply from ADB, that was the only way for my pc to recognize my phone from adb devices. Any clues on how to fix?

Will try, Ill respond back if anything happens!
Hmm I'm still having trouble because, I can't get into fast boot for some reason. It's keep going back to Cyanogen recovery. It has the option to reload into bootloader, but goes into cyanogen recovery again.
There is an option in dev options, uncheck the "update cyanogen recovery" and flash twrp again
