well, I ve search the forum but cannot find any solutions
I love the photowidget from arc veryveryveryveryvery much but I just cannot make it work on my X10
my rom is the latest CM V06,
its said that this apk works on V053,but no works after 054
any ideas or solutions ?
After install
Goto system folder using root explorer and do the following in your build.prop file
Edit the following line
From
ro.product.manufacturer= "whatever name here''
To
ro.product.manufacturer= Sony Ericsson
Add a new line
ro.semc.timescape_keys=Sony_Ericsson_Xperia
Can someone post the apk ? And add the line after that changed one or at the end ?

well sounds difficult for me...
well, no "ro.product.manufacturer= "whatever name here''" in my build.prop, only"ro.product.manufacturer= Sony Ericsson"
so I add the new line above the latter one , then reboot
but still nothing works
add the line after that changed one or at the end

Ive change the build.prop and still , I cannot install it
so I put the apk in the system/app and edit the rights
still nothing happens

alright, but my rom is the CM6 V06 and I dont use software like ADW ,
so it must be a SE home right?

yes ,it working only SE home (arc or semchome (x10 2.1)).

it works for me if don't install the timescape but can't install after flashing timescape also it can't be restored in titanium. backup
if someone can find a way please let us know

copy photowidget.apk and paste it at /system/app (use Root explorer)
hold your finger on apk and choose Permissions
first column check all, second first box, third none
push OK
and install it

i have an app installed (from apk file, not google play).
recently i got an updated version of the application (another apk file).
is there ANY way of installing the new version next to old one without overwritting it?
i need to use both versions at the same time.
Why use 2 versions? If its the same app, it will do the same thing as the old one.

i have an app that i am using for watching tv from my satellite platform provider.
they released an updated version of they software with new functionality but they took away others. i would like to use new things but also still have an access to old functions.
but excluding the duscussion if is it reasonable or not...

Backup it with titaniumbackup first, then install new version.
If updated app is not working, just restore the old one.

Probably they have the same signature or ID or whatever identifies it in Google Play.
Is there any way of changing the parameter identifying the app?

yes u can change the main activity name in smali form....apktools will help you
..decompile apk
..change activity folder's name
..change activity paths in all smali files
..rebuild apk
..sign
.. install

So, I got as far as..... decompiling the app
I am not completely across with programming but I have no clue what I should do next Well... I've never played in programming for android and haven't played in modding or any stuff like that.
SO, Can you guide me what I should do next?
What is activity folder name and where is it stored?
Which entries in smali files are activity paths?
I'll understand if you won't help anymore as it may be too much to go through... honestly, no worries...

I'm trying to do the same thing. With real racing 3. I have an older version that I like a lot for its particular features, plus the latest Ferrari updated version.
I want to have both on my phone. Any way? Also, they have the same exact com.r3 folders, can the modified apk use different data folders?

Hoping to edit apps
I started editing by just replacing a simple picture in an apk file I had
After replacing it I tried to install the app but it fails each time
So this is what I did
1. Opened the apk
2. Replaced the file with the same name
3. Tried to install
Result: App not installed.....
So, what is going wrong in the process

If u are replacing png, u did everything ok. But u need to sign that apk. Download zipsigner from market.

hey guys, as you can see in the title im trying to duplicate apps.
So far i decompiled the apk using android multitool, then i editited the package name in AndroidManifest.xml. I then transfer META-DATA and AndroidManifest from old apk to new apk. move the apk to my moto g, it installs but it installs over existing apk it doesnt duplicate. So i uninstall the app i downloaded from google play and install the new apk from android multitool first but when i go to play store it says its already installed
Does anyone know what else do i have to do so i an have 2 or more the same apps on the one device ? Help wil be appreciated

go to that apk file you want to clone and long press on it and then click on clone

I found app. So I cloned the app but in app drawer they are both the same names and I get confused which one is my main app. Anything to change app name ?

it is more easy just open the apk file by single click using apk editor and edit the resource file

crashes because of the low ram issue or the resource file is too big.
use an Icon changer or manually change the name
and if you use Go launcher you can change the name and icon from app drawer

Nope, i clean flashed cm14.1, flashed pixelfy, and i have extracted CB file manager but there is no way to install it, it always conflicts with an existing package, can i provide you apk so you can make a flashable zip really quick for me? Please?

First you need to find the name of the package it's conflicting with so I suspect it's conflicting with CMFileManager.
If you have 7zip you can double click on the pixelfy file go to META-INF/com/google/android/ then drag out the updater-script into a folder or your desktop.
Open the updater-script with notepad and then let me know once you have done this.

I did have two dialers but disabled the stock one, contacts replaced fine.
Uninstalled the Google App though as i dont use that.

Thats the problem, i dont know, the CMFilemanager has different package name than Community build file manager, can you please make an flashable zip for this apk real quick please?

Their dialer, messaging, Google device manager etc, also gives the ability to uninstall all stock Google apps as well

Hi, I had already flashed the pixel boot animation,dialer and contacts with different packages, flashing this won't affect those you think?
