I have been looking around a lot of the recent post regarding the subject, but none of them really seem to answer my question. There are bits and pieces of info here and there, telling my to go to such forum and look for such thread,
but I haven't gotten a clear response. I am a noob when it comes to anything like this. ELI5 please.

Kernel (idk if important): 3.0.8-Info/[email protected]#1
NOTE
My pc does recognize the tablet. I can chose MTP as a storage option and I think I can use the UMS option as well. Will i need to install drivers?

Thanks, but I have no idea what to do on that website. Its asking me to donate and stuff. When I click the Lambda icon, it downloads a tr.apk. Please guide me through it.

Oops, didn't read the webpage thoroughly. Downloaded it to my tablet, installed it and ran the app. It says it successfully rooted.

This is a common error. Hanging on step 7. There are other threads similar to yours.

I know it is not the same phone but other phones have been hanging for the same reason. You should read through it. Also superoneclick doesn't have a 'force mode'. I think that person was just being plain unhelpful. If you were on gingerbread you could have tried the program gingerbreak but it won't work on 4.0/ Sorry but i cannot solve your problems. I hate it when I let people down. I have no experience with your problem so it is hard to help. No other people want to help so I tried. Try searching your device on XDA. or read through that thread i gave you again.

Looks like I am at the same stage as you now.
The DoomLord thing worked for me.
I know have ICS 4.0.3 with a build date of 2012/06/30 flashed to my phone
Clockworkmod installed with english menu

It is the Sophone V75 with MediaTek MTK6575 processor and 3.5" Retina screen.
It is a copycat 4S and looks identical to the GooPhone Y5.
If it helps anyone, the firmware I got from a Chinese factory had he descriptor of:
MT75 H910 ICS
It is ICS 4.0.3 and claims to be IOS 5.1
I think the CPU is an ARMv7 Rev10
8Mp rear cam and 0.3Mp front cam
960*640 retina screen
512+512 RAM/ROM and a 32Gb Micro SD in mine.

Alas no it did not work.
I tried flashing the REX3 firmware from that link to my Sophone V75 and it did not want to boot after that.
I had to flash the 4.0.3 firmware back on and thankfully it booted

Hi I used this guide to root my cubot a890:
droidchina.com/forum/Thread-Auto-Root-MTK6589-One-click-root
(you can skip the step of pdanet drivers when you already have working ADB drivers)
make sure you have usb debugging switched on.
unzip the root tool on your pc and open run.bat (run.sh for linux users included)
after that follow the steps and you should have root!
have fun with you're rooted phone!

The backlight of the touch buttons (Back,Home, Settings) is very very very pale if existing at all.
Is there a way to tutn those lights on?
My device has root permissions, so any solution is welcome.

Did you try one click root software ? It is the easiest way to root.
You can check on youtube there is plenty of videos showing how to do, I cannot post any external link as I didn't reach 10 posts yet.
Also it might be better to check directly on the good section as this is a very specific question.

Hey great people.
Through the years I have flashed my Note 3, bricked it, recovered it... etc. All with your help.
So to my question. I have a ZTE zxv10-B860A top-set box. I live in China currently and got it with my internet package. The problem is, it is all in Chinese. As my searches have gone, I can gather that it runs Android 5, and Cortex A9 processor.
I have searched high and low, but with no success. I want to basically flash the little sucker and load a working English version of Android on it, then run Kodi etc.
If anyone can please point me in the right direction.

I recommend you try the tool stb(I cannot post outside links, please mail to me, or search for it yourself), you can connect the box with adb shell through this tool. if you want do more you have to use the TTL tools because the box has so many restrictions.
the tool's full name is : StbCfgTool, the newest version is 7.5.8

need ZTE ZXV10 B760D firmware
Bumping this thread, if anyone knows or has stock rom for ZTE ZXV10 B760D kindly do share.
Update: i was able to connect using STB_ConfigTool and installed one apk using adb. but for reason the app can't access internet (although its connected)
The android version is 4.0.4 so i am assuming it has something todo with the branded firmware, maybe flashing another firmware would help.

I had to flash the stock ROM first (from sammobile, if it does not allow download just refresh multiple times until they allow), and only then I could follow the tutorial.
Also, I had to enable MagiskHide to enable SafetyNet, and to run a custom script to disable the security notice notification (search youtube, sorry XDA does not allow me to post links).
I hope it will continue to work
