Ok so thanks ahead of time for any help given, here is my story. I have a E980 with the latest AT&T 4.4.2 on it and should have done a little more reading before I installed a custom recovery. I used a one click rooting app for pc which worked great and root was achieved with no problems. Then not knowing about needing a lokified recovery for this I used FREEGEE and CM Rom Manager to attempt to install a custom recovery which both said they were successful and according to CM Rom manager i am running CM recovery 6.0.3.8. My phone still works fine but I can't factory restore or boot into recovery without getting the secure booting error Cause: boot certification verify. I have looked for the last two days on this form and others trying to find a way to get back into recovery. Everything I have read on this error ends up leading back to me using the recovery to flash another rom or another recovery which I can't do. From what I have read the people with this error normally can't do anything on there phones. I do have Android studio installed (although don't really know how to use it) on my PC in hopes that there is some way I can fix this. Please if anyone can lead me in the right direction so I can get back into a recovery and load the lokified one it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again for any help given!

As the title suggest, I’m having some issues recovering my system. Every time I try to recover using clockworks mod, It does everything but when it reboots it gets stuck on the samsung screen. I had to use odin to get out of there. After I reflashed a recovered the same thing happened so now I’m convinced that I did something wrong. I rooted by using noobnl's one click method, made a backup, then flashed the rom. Is there something I missed? Also rom manager doesn’t work right for me. When it reboots to recovery it tells me that an update failed and gives the stock recovery. I want to update to the viper rom but i don’t want to completely wipe everything again.
All help is appreciated and excuse any spelling/grammar mistakes.
Hey everyone,
My little brother is trying to learn more things about mobile devices and wanted to have a go at my old piece of junk, stock optimus one p500h. So i let him have a go and now it's not working so here is the problem.
First he rooted it and that worked fine with gingeroot and then proceeded to install romanager which bricked the phone but he was able to recover the phone with a recovery.img and using LGMDP-v1.5 and emergency mode.
After that he installed some android system recovery thing "RA-thunderg-1.2.0-gnn" not sure what the software was originally, regardless he tried flashing from the flash from zip from sdcard and used a cyanogenmod zip which he said worked and then the phone said success and rebooted.
Now the phone just sits at the cyanogenmod loading screen and will not boot.
I am able to get into the recovery menu with home, down and power and emergency mode also works.
Where did he go wrong and what does he need to do in order to get this to work properly? Thanks for your help everyone and sorry if the post is a bit disjointed i'm trying to translate what he's saying into the post xD

If running a Windows PC and the device can boot in to fastboot, you can use Android Flash Recovery ( link in my signature ) to flash another recovery image. There are some more complicated ways using ADB, but well try to avoid them ATM You can also use LGMDP to flash a different recovery image. There are several floating around here at XDA.
As for where he went wrong, I cannot say. Piece of advice, if in doubt - don't do it.
Have you tried booting to recovery and wiping cache and dalvik cache then attempt to boot to Andorid?

thanks for the fast reply, looks like recovery is gone now? I had attempted to clear the cache though. Would you mind giving me a step by step as im unsure of what i need to do now xD not sure what i need downloaded or to do what with what after my brothers done all this haha
Just flash a recovery from LGMDP for your phone.. then download a rom for your phone and wipe everything in recovery and flash the rom
And do not flash stock rom from kdz or lgmdp if you cannot boot your phone. It has high chances of bricking

Cm7(except a very old one from mik_os), stock gb and up requires new baseband. You can search for baseband fix and install through recovery ( I don't remember if it's old bb fix or new bb fix, try for yourself )
You can also search how to install new bb permanently but it's more difficult and has(I think) chances of bricking your phone

Hello,
First off, I am a total noob and probably should not have been messing with my phone before knowing exactly what I was doing. I have a Nexus 5 that I rooted with towelroot. I had xposed framework installed with some other cool tweaks. I should have stopped there. I followed the tutorial on PhoneArena yesterday titled How to download and install the Android L beta update on your Nexus 5. I downloaded and flashed the modified kernel, the SuperSU mode, and the new radio.
I had a backup kernal and recovery set up through Flashify/TWRP. The flash and installation worked. When I tried to flash the N5_L_PREV_LPV79.zip to the newer N5_L_PREV_LPV81C.zip my phone said "your recovery partition couldn't be found. You won't be able to flash recovery images. You can still flash images. It said the same thing about my boot partition. Is there anything I can do to get these partitions back? I know I shouldn't have been jacking with everything without proper knowledge. I appreciate any help you can give me.
Thank you,
Patrick
Hello, everyone. I have a small problem and I hope anyone will help very soon.
I unlocked my HTC One Max (Vodafone) and when I installed Superuser via recovery (TWRP), it wasnt yet rooted, so I guess I was mixin between tutorials. Then I saw the step for the unsecure kernel, downloaded it and flashed it. Now the problem is that my phone won't boot anymore and only takes me to recovery every time I choose reboot or restart system.
Can someone please help or link me to the solution if there was any.
Thanks a lot in advance

Flashing SuperSU.zip via twrp is pretty much rooting so we can leave that bit out:silly:
As for the trouble it could be either
1)you installed a wrong kernel not made for your phone
2)the installed twrp and kernel are not compatible together
I think its no.2 mostly and you'll need to make a choice between the two.
Solutions other than doing a hard reset as it will not fix your phone
1)restore a backup if you've made one beforehand
2)flash any ohrt ROM/kernel
3)flashing stock firmware
choose another recovery if you want To install and try your mentioned kernel/ROM
Note : flashing is a risky process so from now on make a backup before doing something and when following a tutorial try not to mix it up.
Try to get a good grip of what you're doing before doing anything good luck
While I was attempting to flash CM 13.1 to the phone, it got stuck in a bootloop. Would not get past the white startup/splash screen. So, I booted it into TWRP and attempted to install the recovery I had made using TWRP. It ended up throwing me an error (I don't remember the code.) Anyways, I got the bright idea to completely wipe my phone and retry it. Now TWRP deleted my recovery, and my OS is gone. It was rooted and had SuperSU installed before it got bricked. Any help at all?

Cheer

The Xtreme System ZIP is no longer available.
*update*
I decided to try my own way and it worked very well. Using TWRP I was able to transfer a ROM onto a MicroSD, and then install that ROM from TWRP. It's a lot less complicated than the thread given. The Xtreme stock ROM is running very well though.
