I have a rooted and unlocked C2104. I tried swapping external and internal and ended up changing mount points that is my phone now recognizes my microsd card as internal. Now since the microsd card does not have bootloader and other nand files, it does not recognize it when i use power button. I find only 2 solutions throughout internet:
1: To replace the motherboard.
2. To make sdcard as internal and install bootloader into it to make the phone boot from it and then flash ftf via fllashtool.
I dont know if it can be done, but if anyone can please give me the size and mountpoints of nand partition then i think i can pull it off. Help me please.
If I explain a bit more than what you did maybe I can help. What program did you use, or give me the link to the tutorial you read.

Well i didn't use any app. I just swapped the lines in vold.fstab located in /system/etc.
But on the first swapping i.e. replacing sdcard0 by sdcard1 the phone booted fine and swapped external with the internal but did not show the new external. So i cut the "emmc" before sdcard 1 and placed it before sdcard0. Thats when the system stopped responding. Now what i understand is if i can make the same partitions in an sdcard, i should be able to atleast get my power button to respond. But i dont know the partiton table of the internal.. Can u help?
Let me see if I understood ... The phone does not turn on? not connected or fastboot flash mode?

you can again revert back as it was before in vold.fstab so you'll get back your normal os.
If it doesn't work or you are unable to power on your phone flash stock ftf. Everything should be fine.

The phone does not turn on, neither does it gets connected in flash or fastboot mode. so i cannot use adb or flashtool. It only shows the notification light when i connect the wall adapter.
i think, your phone was "dead boot", and only service centre can repair it
my friend doing like youve done, but in my country, sony service centre reject the guarantee becoz hw missing(TA partition not found he said emmc was empty, yeah my friend try to format internal n external sdcard while vold.fstab swapped)
swapping vold.fstab on stock rom doesn work and it dangerous
only few phone from sonyeericsson like x8 can repaired with JTAG

Hi guys, i'm in desperate need of your help. i think my precious o3d might have been screwed.
first let me tell you what i did. as you know the internal sd card of o3d is 5gb or so and it fills up very quickly. this internal sd card is mounted as /sdcard. i have a class 10 16gb micro sd card and when i insert it, its automatically mounted as /sdcard/_ExternalSD. The applications or games, especially the ones that have external data folders which are like 1gb in size insists to be installed on /sdcard. You can't move those data folders to _ExternalSD, because then the apps doesn't work.
Then i came across this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1189701
As you can see that was exactly what i needed. I had CWM 5.0.2.0 installed so i downloaded the first .zip then copied all of the files and folders excluding the _ExternalSD folder to the external sd card then rebooted into recovery. From there i flashed the zip and rebooted again. phone booted up and all was ok and it worked. now the phone sees the external sd card as the internal one and the internal sd card was mounted as /sdcard/_ExternalSD. I then formatted the internal sd card from the settings menu because i already copied all of the stuff there to the external card. It worked fine and the internal card is formatted. After that i decided to get a nandroid backup so i opened the rom toolbox program. From the menus i selected the backup option, gave it a name, clicked ok. the phone rebooted into cwm recovery screen but nothing happened. then i noticed something was not right because there was some error lines under the cwm menus saying "E:can't mount CACHE:recovery/command" etc. Then i selected the reboot phone option but the phone rebooted right back into the CWM recovery again!! At that point i knew that i was @#?^ed.
Anyways i researched a lot and came across this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1156549
i did exactly what he said and it worked, i mean it flashed nicely. then i rebooted the phone but it booted into the recovery again!!! But this time the CWM recovery was gone and i believe this is the stock recovery screen. I can browse the menu of it and make selections but the phone boots into the recovery every time it reboots.
The recovery screen looks like this:
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7010/6654644033_b616bc0635_z.jpg
Then i flashed the phone to the latest official firmware V21A_00, it flashed nicely but it still boots right into the recovery everytime.
Then i installed the Android SDK and tried to push the original vold.fstab file to the system using the adb command line tool but it doesn't see the phone. I think adb works only when the system boots up normally, not in the recovery mode.
I don't know if there's a way to install the CWM from the stock recovery somehow. If you know how, please tell. The CWM has more options.
I don't know what else i can do. It started to look ridiculous. If there are any experts cool enough to help please do so. I'll be waiting. Thank you...
Edit:
I also tried this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1244490
I starts just fine but get's stuck on the "RESET" command, after a while it gives "DOWNLOAD FAIL!" error. I think the phone is supposed to restart automatically but it doesn't. Manually resetting the phone doesn't work either.
I'm about to pull my hair out...
Edit 2:
I also posted on the official LG Mobile forum here:
http://www.lgforum.com/forum/boards...d-goes-into-recovery-mode-every-time-it-boots
Fingers crossed
Quite a post!
From all your post there is no mention that you formated and did a factory reset after 21a flash.
Can you please try that if you haven't?

thank you for the reply!
i tried all 4 wipe options on the recovery screen then rebooted. it's the same, i'm back at the good old recovery again
Did you try with the external sd card out?
This is strange, usually a kdz flash coupled with a format fixes the problem.
Some how it still can't find the internal SD card.
I don't have further recommendations. Sorry

Hopefully someone else on this forum can suggest a way for you to unbrick.
your problem is although you have reset your phone, somehow it can't find a partition to boot from.
or
somehow the KDZ flashing is not totally successful.
good luck
If only there could be a way to be able to use the adb command from the Android SDK then i might be able to restore the vold.fstab file to its original, if the problem is that at all. Maybe then it'll work. To be able to flash the CWM Recovery again somehow might be a good thing too because it has more options like flashing .zip format roms but i have no idea how. Does anyone know if the stock recovery can flash some specifically named file to the system, does it have that kind of functionality? I'm desperate, please share your thoughts.
.............anyone?
I am sorry to say that but there is no solution for this problem yet. I have done the exact thing that you do and tried every single solution with no luck. The only way is to send it to lg repair service. My solution was to replace the mainboard.
Dostum gecmis olsun malesef tek cozum yolu anakarti degistirmek. Uzaman sayilirim android konusunda bosuna ugrasmayasin diye soyluyorum. LG servisi bile anca anakarti degistirerek cozum sunabildi. Temel problem internal karti formatlamis olman. Partititon table'i bozuyor bu islem malesef ve bu yuzden hicbir yontem ise yaramiyor.
Gecmis olsun tekrar...
so you say that the main problem was to format the internal sd card? well if formatting the internal sd card bricks the phone then why the hell is there an option to format it in the settings menu?
well if you didn't apply the swap fix, it wouldn't be a problem to format. When you swap the sd cards and format, it is the problem.

so you did exactly the same thing as me right? i mean you applied the swap fix then formatted the internal sd?
replacing the motherboard to fix this seems to be a bit nonsense to me to be honest. what does the partition table have anything to do with the motherboard?
if only there would be a .kdz format custom rom which factory resets the internal sd card during the flash process and maybe fixes the bootloader somehow, that might be the solution.
yes i did the same and the only solution was to replace the motherboard. we need a sowftware that can reach to the emmc in low-level. like omap flasher. but we also need the correct drivers which doesn't exist yet.

i don't know what the emmc is, i need to do research on that. but i still think that replacing the motherboard won't solve this issue because it seems non relevant to me. i messed up with the vold.fstab file. but after that it worked fine. i mean the internal and external cards swapped just fine. only after i decided to make a nandroid backup using rom toolbox all hell broke loose. i plan to wait a couple of days before turning the phone to LG service. i believe someone will come up with an idea.

Well, there´s a new recovery for the O3D, v5.0.2.7 (I got it with ROM Manager).
It fixes 2 bugs of the previous (5.0.2.0) version: now the USB mass storage option in the mounts menu works (mount external SDCARD), and we can use ADB while in recovery. That way we can fix stuff in the phone filesystem while in recovery: we can now use ADB shell, or ADB push to replace files.
The problem is that I don´t know how to flash it to the phone while in the stock recovery. If someone can guide me on creating a signed ZIP containing this new recovery, flashable in the stock recovery, I would be glad to do that and post it here. I think these phones of you guys can be fixed using this method!

Great news! But now i need to find a way to install the new CWM. Just as you said i believe what i need is to find or make a .kdz update which includes this new CWM.
What do you think?
I know this is possible, at least for the Galaxy Ace: I have a ZIP file for this device with a custom recovery image, flashable in stock recovery!
To make one for the Optimus 3D, I need to know the following:
- How can I obtain the .IMG of the new recovery? I have found some temp files in clockworkmod folder in my sdcard. The creation date of one of them matches the exact moment I upgraded my recovery, and the file size also matches a recovery image: 5.54MB. Is it the recovery image? Can I just rename it to recovery.img? How can I extract it to ensure it´s ok?
- After I get the recovery image, I can use the Galaxy Ace ZIP as the base to build the O3D zip file. Any help on what do I have to change to make it work correctly?
I also tried this:

Edit: I'm 99% sure that this isn't a hardware related problem. And LG's software not being able to turn the phone to stock is totally [email protected]#$%!
On some "unbrick your optimus 3d" threads i came across this image:
http://attachments.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=667470&d=1311752328
i tried all methods around here but not once i came across a screen like it. weird...
well i give up guys. so much technical [email protected] going on and no one seems to understand this device enough. i'll turn it to the LG Repair Service today. Thank you everyone for your help...
Ok, I have bricked my device a few times as I love tweaking and flashing ROMs. But , this time, I think I killed it for good.First of all, I tweaked my cm10 with vold.stab to switch sd cards. Rebooted. Internal SD card (vold.stab tweak -> external) not mounting/recognizing by the phone. I found some help articles , so I formatted the external , rebooted and now the phone is dead. If I connect to pc through flashmode or fastboot mode, Windows make the usual sound when you connect a device but it sees it as an unknown device, unable to find drivers. Phone not reacting to any button I press.I think I screwed it at last.
You shouldn't have done that. It's VERY risky. Sorry for you...

by formatting the "external sd card" AFTER doing the "vold.fstab tweak" you actually formatted the INTERNAL memory and not the external... i don't think there's any way to fix it, send it to sony if you still have warranty.

Wait, i formatted it via the settings ,in the option above Apps. The phone thinks its the Internal Memory , but I actually deleted all the files in External SD. In other words , The REAL External sd card was formatted. The Real internal memory was unusable.
ok, im sending this to service although i think there is still hope. I did not format the phone's internal memory, but my ext card. The only sign that my phone is alive is that the Proximity Sensor is red , or active, when I connect the charger or press the power button. Also, Windows recognise it as an unknown device. So, is there surely no hope or what? Please help, so I can decide what to do. Thank you in advance.
PS: Is it sure that Customer Service can fix it without warranty?
If not under warranty, you might have to pay them to fix it for you.

Think first, then do.
Hi. Same thing happened to me. I was using CM10 on my Xperia J, but I didn't change anything else in the phone except the ROM. When i got new SDcard I decided to format it using my phone. I used the format option in Settings -> Storage and wanted to reboot the phone, but it didn't turn on. I can't access fastboot or flash mode or anything, it seems completely dead. I surely lost warranty while unlocking BootLoader and installing CM10. Can I do something to unbrick it?

If it's less than an year old, just give it to Sony and tell them the warranty is still valid - I don't think they can check for bootloader unlock via hardware, and I'm pretty sure you wiped off all the software.
I've got a question to devs here. Can someone edit TZ4.1 kernel, to mount external sd-card (i've got 32gig class 10/uhs-1) as internal? I've tried to edit init.sony.rc, but that edited kernel by me didn't work. I see no point in using that internal memory. If someone could help me with that, PM me (I just want this for my personal usage, and won't republish this anywhere).
Please help me, only this one thing is stopping me from using KK on my phone. I've tried a lot of tutorials, kitchens, scripts on Win/Linux machine, it never worked. Sometimes I could see TZ logo and boot into TWRP, but couldn't boot into system, or it just rebooted itself after 5secs of black screen.

I'm not a developer but external memory as internal is set by default in Matrix ROM which is in Android development section. So you can try it. Or look inside it and find changes that you need.

Using external as internal is risky. Could damage your card so very badly.

I know, but I'm a bit tired of FolderMount, because SwiftKey is showing me an error every boot, and I need to download dictionaries again, and when I've got no Internet coverage except 2G, then it's painful to do. And I bet it's faster than internal storage (I may be wrong)

If i can change internal sd card will it fix the problem that happen when i tried to make a new partition on my internal sd card for swap ??
i believe the sd card inside is a chip is soldered (or glued) to the board. if you want to go this route, you need to find a tablet with cracked/broken screen and swap the guts.

As the previous user said, it's impossible to swap the internal SD card.
If you messed up with partitions, the software-only solution is to flash a stock ROM with ODIN including your specific model .PIT file.
BE CAREFUL to use the right one for your model, there is an instruction thread on how to do it.

Well, as long as you used the correct ODIN (mine is 3v1.87 and I know it works) and the correct PIT and ROM files, this is the standard procedure for repairing any software-related problem.
Give the age of the model, seeking a service center for a hardware repair is not advisable.

No, sd-ext is the external (removable) SD card, it has nothing to to with your problem.
Furthermore, the ODIN + PIT method that I suggested should have removed TWRP and reinstalled the Samsung Recovery!.
Probably you're not doing the ODIN restore correctly
Follow this guide, step E, but ensuring that you are using the specific files for your model

Of course this wasn't enough already, but but now when I go to format data in TWRP, it says:
"Unable to update " " to wipe crypto key"
I only tried encrypting my phone 3 days before I wrote this thread was created.. And it did not work.. It would do encryption procedure but it let me use swipe, pattern, etc as passcode options... Usually it's like password with numbers n letters no??
So it didn't ask for decrypt passcode on boot and it didn't give an error message.. So I'm asking if there is a correlation or not..
-_____- simplest fix I had to flash pit via Odin like I stayed a week in this state of 0mb storage lol everything back to regular state no idea why I suddenly got encrypted with no password but whatever lets pray it behaves this time

I did carHd and it does the Aroma installer perfectly till it finished extracting files and ends with set metadata recursive some changes failed... But new files are visible in twrp (ONLY IF I KEEP S6 ON) always 0mb for partitions..

Unfortunately there is not much to do.
Try to back up the sdcard folder on the PC.
Then format the entire device to a new format (EXT3 for example) and then switch back to EXT4.
Then just install another rom by the same TWRP.
_____________
Maybe you can't backup any files because you won't mount to do that.
So I don't have any other option without being FORMAT AND LOSE all files.
And you still won't have a system/rom to install. Only using another phone to download some.

Enter in TWRP.
>> Wipe
>>Format Data
Write Yes
Select other format and ok
Reformat Data to EXT4
Will back mounted
Install a rom via OTG
