Incredible work! Can you do a black and white theme?
Looking good kevinoliva113
The smart network toggle shouldn't be included in the rom because it isn't supported. I think you guys must have used galaxy tools to add the extra toggles. The best way to add toggles is to either download a rom where they are already included or edit your features.xml and put them in there. You really want to only add the toggles that will actually work and remove those that don't. I have my rom setup this way. I look forward to future additions/changes to your theme.

Thanks for the tip. On the theme, it is done on the features.xml (thus the factory reset). I just threw on all of them so I was sure I got every toggle themed. I will Remove the smart network on an update. On my phone, I just edit the settings ,db with the toggles I use so I don't have to reset, but I know a lot of people like them all active so I threw it in.

By the way there are several other toggles that don't work. I can't remember which ones off the top of my head, But my way of thinking is if the toggle doesn't work then it's just wasting space on the notification settings screen. Wait... here's my list of toggles. These are really the only ones that work on outr Note 4. Any other toggles besides these won't work correctly or not at all.... unless I overlooked a couple.
Wifi;WiFiHotspot;Location;Flashlight;SilentMode;AutoRotate;Bluetooth;Ebook;DormantMode;PowerSaving;UltraPowerSaving;MultiWindow;AllShareCast;SBeam;Nfc;AirGesture;CarMode;SmartStay;VoWiFi;AirplaneMode;Brightness;SideKey;TouchSensitivity;PersonalMode;Sync;MobileData

Yes leave flashlight in it won't bother anything and I do have the flashlight mod and toggles in my roms. so it will show up if flashed on my rom. By the way which rom version are your theme files for? NIE or NK2? This is really important and they need to be completely different theme sets due to a bunch of changes throughout the rom in NK2. Samsung integrated the VR Gear support in the NK2 OTA and it pretty much effects everything and most all files. So to be on the safe side you might want to make a separate theme zip for whichever rom version you didn't theme. Just check which rom version you pulled the apk's from and make a new theme for the other rom. Hopefully you did this theme for the new NK2 ota because then you wouldn't really need to make another one for the old NIE rom. Just a heads up.

That's good. Well it may seem to work fine on NIE roms but the files have new smali code everywhere. On the surface you may not see any issues but I would bet when the phone needs to run a specific code for something it will cause problems. I say this because i have been going through smali code for all these same files for days and doing file comparisons ive seen significant changes and not just debug lines or const.values. but new methods here and there. J would just add a recommendation to use your theme on NK2 only so people won't have any suprize bugs and come looking for help. This new NK2 OTA has been a pain for me. The Extended power menu mod no longer works because of some changes in smali code. Im having to do it a different way now. Grrrrr.

I'm not sure. I haven't used it. If it works through framework, you wouldn't lose it. If it is built into the settings, you would. You can always reflash 3 minit.

Does UOT kitchen work with Theme Chooser apps now? Last time I used it, it was only for the actually framework files (framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk).

i guess not i read a bunch about just getting the theme chooser.apk and uploading that and it is supposed to add an apk to the zip it gives u to download
1. Go to the Kitchen page
2. Browse through the available mods and choose what you want (don't forget to press Generate preview if there is such a button)
3. Go to the file upload section and upload the required files, or choose the ROM you use from the kitchen's list (most roms in the list are for HTC Desire)
Files you need to upload:
Froyo rom: framework-res.apk
Gingerbread rom: framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk
Gingerbread with sense rom: framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk and com.htc.resources.apk
Cyanogenmod7 rom: Cyanbread.apk or Androidian.apk or any theme for ThemeChooser (rename as you like it to apear in theme menu)<----thats what im using
NOTE 1: if you’re uploading theme apk then do not upload any other files; you’re just wasting traffic, because the kitchen will ignore additional files
NOTE 2: Font packs and boot animation do not require files to be uploaded. If you choose only those mods then you get a download without a queue.
4. Go to the summary section. All chosen mods must have a green background. If there is a mod in red background it means you didn’t finish it.
Press Submit work to kitchen
5. Remember the UOT file name (your order number).
6. Go to the Pickup page and wait for your file to appear (it can take from 5min to 1hr or more)
7. Download UOT zip into SD card of your phone
8. Reboot into recovery
9. Wipe cache and dalvik-cache (just in case). Do not wipe data / factory reset.
10. Flash UOT zip
11. Reboot phone

No. Theme Chooser themes only work with roms that have themechooser integration. Otherwise its a lot of work to port.

Hey Kwes - I have not tried UOT with New Clip because you mentioned themes may break things. Does that also apply to UOT? I wanted to change the color of all the items on the status bar to the hex ICS color. Should that be OK if I do not change anything else?
Or is there a better way to do that?

As long as you use the systemui and framework-res from the rom it shouldn't break anything. But some sketchy edits I made in framework as work a rounds might not let you edit it with uot but you can always try. I'm gonna update soon if I can just get these lock screens right.

Thanks. I will give it a try tonight or tomorrow. I want to make a set of all gingerbread green status bar icons and a set of all ICS blue status bar icons. If it works I will send them to you and you could add them to New Clip (if you want to) as an option for people that want everything matching, but do not want a complete makeover theme.
I just think it looks nice when the battery, clock, signal, wifi, etc match in color. Fond of ICS blue right now. I think I know how to repack it so anyone can use it. I'll PM you later if I get it done.
Edit: Well...that was a disaster. I just changed the status bar icons and added a different battery. Result was a boot loop twice and then a black screen requiring a battery pull. Restored my back up and will give it another try. Maybe a bad file download?

An all new update is just around the corner. Kwes1020 has some magic he is holding back until its right. Old weapon 3.0 works fine with UOT. I am not a real theme guy. I answer easy questions for noobs and piggyback off the hard work of others, but always give credit and thanks to the real guys. If the update does not happen as expected, I will take another stab at it.
I love learning new things and android has become an addiction. If you want to try, read up on topic. Tons of good info out there. UOT is simple to use. The trick is making the zip you create compatable with every one else. There is a mini tutorial in the moonman thread.

I all depends on the size of the icons. You can use xhdpi icons, but they'll be to big for the status bar. I haven't found away to adjust the icons in the xml's as of yet, still looking. That bugs me as well especially the "3G". All in all unless you have ICS the icons will continue to look this way.

No, i dont think so. You have to consider that each icon has a designated space mandated in the XML's or smali about 38x38 or so. You want to find that line and change it to read something like 38x20 or what ever you want. It would read something like <FrameLayout android:layout_width="20.0dip" android:layout_height="25.0dip". I've tried changing "status_bar_icon.xml" to no avail.

Hmm, I can't seem to get this to work right. I'm using the R800x locked bootloader, 2.3.3. I have the file on my sdcard and renamed it update.zip. Through the CWM recovery, I flash the zip file. It runs and finishes rather quickly. When it reboots, I get stuck in a bootloop. Am I missing something or doing something wrong that might be causing this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

None that I'm aware of , all the apk's in the theme are stock, just modified. I pull them from the 2.3.3 system dump. I have to admit that this is a bit baffling to me.

This ICS theme worked fine.

Yours looked like it may have corrected the minor visual problems this one had. I'll give a shot at re-installing this one and putting yours on top to see if that works. I'll let you know.
EDIT: Ok, the old ICS theme still works.
Out of curiosity, I checked out what the difference between the two themes were. What are the apks in the app folder within your zip?
EDIT2: Worked! You were right. I had to install that old ICS theme down first before yours worked. Wonder why that would work...oh well.

One thing I've noticed is that using my music players (built-in music and playerpro), the text of the song title in the notification bar is black, so it's unreadable.
But so far, awesome job, man.

Yours looked like it may have corrected the minor visual problems this one had. I'll give a shot at re-installing this one and putting yours on top to see if that works. I'll let you know.
EDIT: Ok, the old ICS theme still works.

Hmm, I know that old ICS theme had that black text issue with the MUSIC.apk. Wonder if it carried over into your theme, maybe?

so i got my slimmed down rom booted up and running very smooth..just need to do a few more optimizations and add SU and ill be ready to serve it up to the rest of the world for use.
After i booted into the ROM,i booted back into recovery and flashed the SU/Busybox.zip,booted back into the rom....redownloaded your toggle mod and booted back into recovery..flashed it and now its running great..even the flashlight is working.lol
(something i noticed...the original file i downloaded from you was like 500kb larger than the 2nd one i downloaded....very odd,cuz ive never seen the the bad download actually a larger file than the right one...just thought it was weird..)
But all is well now and THANK YOU for the awesome mod!! the stock toggles piss me off!! how the hell are you gonna have the DATA toggle png's in the framework but no actual toggle for data!!?? :victory:
BTW,the Theme for it is clean...i like the ICS blue..but you should make one thats a minimal (white) and also a stock..just a thought.lol

try the other way, make a backup of systemui original
flash toggles see if it works, if it works delete the flashed files put back original system ui and try again to push them...
I always have problems when I try to push files manually
btw: I've seen that I have to delete the backup in order to work when pushed, try moving the backup in a diff folder, like exsd...

you can extract the png from systemui, there are about 200png, open with 7zip and copy.
it's very easy.
Hi everyone,
Since we found about the hack by editing the build.prop to get S5 like System UI bar and notification toggle, we have been looking to do it without the build.prop trick as that mess up with other things, just to mention Sview.
I also moded the colors to match the S5 new color theme, but if you want to change you can still use Wanam xposed module to color the way you like.
So here is the S5 SystemUI moded to get those toggle and staus bar with SFinder from S5 too.
It also includes Flashlight toggle and/or Quicklaunch apps and OGbattery mod with +70 battery styles
OGBattery : You just have to tap 3 time on battery Icon to change and choose battery style from 70 different one
You have choice between 2 options/b] :
1- For those ROM that do not have the Flashlight mode installed: Like Phoenix ROM
For these ROMs we need to run a script to add the flashlight to system.db, please also note that I am not including the Secsettings as each ROM have different one, so re arranging the toggle will result in FC, I will update later with SecSettings of different ROM, for the time being flashlight will work but you wont be able to re arrange its position.
Choose between 2 versions
With Quicklaunch : http://www.mediafire.com/download/a...Setting_toggles_With_flashlight_installer.zip
Without Quciklaunch : http://www.mediafire.com/download/7...Setting_toggles_With_flashlight_installer.zip
2- For those who had already flashlight mode included : Like Echoe ROM
With ROM including already the Flashlight mod it will work perfectly and you can re arrange toggles in settings with no FC.
Choose between 2 versions
With Quicklaunch : http://www.mediafire.com/download/6...ting_toggles_With_flashlight_no_installer.zip
Without Quciklaunch : http://www.mediafire.com/download/q...ting_toggles_With_flashlight_no_installer.zip
INSTALLATION :
I take no responsibility if anything bad happens during flashing this mod, you should take all precautions and do backup before installing this.
I have model i9505 so I only tested on that one, if someone want to try it on other variation of S4 it is upon their on Risk. Also this for DEODEXED ROMS
1- Choose according to the Rom option 1 or 2
2- Download the version you like, with or without quciklaunch icons
3- VERY IMPORTANT Backup your SystemUI just in case if something goes wrong.
4- Boot in recovery and Flash the zip of your choice
5- Reboot and enjoy
CREDITS
Here are the person who deserve all the credit for above mentioned mod, I am not a developer I just learn here and there to resemble all this to share with you, so they deserves all the Kudos and thanks
@tamirda drom phoenix for the basic trick of his Systemui to get S5 style :
@CNexus for his Flashlight mod, thanks for all your hep
@daxgirl very talented Lady who helped me a lot, without her the Flashlight icon and some others toggles will be so messed up lol Thanks so much
@friedrich420 for letting me use his thread to ask all the help i needed lol
@OsamaGhareeb for his amazing Battery style mode
Sorry didnt mentioned @gharrington for his Quicklaunch mod. Very sorry. All credit go to you for that amazing mod
And all those who may helped me that i forgot to mention
SecSettings for Phoenix ROM,
here is Secsetting for only Phoenix ROM Users, just push it to System/priv-app folder and set permission accordingly rw-r-r and then you can re arrange toggle without any FC . http://www.mediafire.com/download/n9bwax5yba9rgfl/SecSettings.apk
Echoe ROM and other ROM with Flashlight mod already installed don't need this, the Secsetting in their ROM will work without FC.
UPDATE WITHOUT ANY ADD ONS:
For people who had the Battery icon disappeared here is the clean version without any add ons :
Ok guys here is the clean version without any add on, and it should normally work on all Deodexed i9505 ROMS and the Battery icons will work it was tested by @ferxx17 who had that battery icon issue too.
Flash in recovery and enjoy the new look

No % in battery icon: http://www.mediafire.com/download/tu0nl7757iv0nk5/S5_statusbar_no_add_on-NoPerc.zip
UPDATE FOR NO ADD ON :
With Flashlight Toggle : http://www.mediafire.com/download/5w6tk57e5h9q7tb/S5_statusbar_Flashlight_installer.zip
SecSettings is needed in order to re re arrange the Toggles, here are some of them that I modded and tested by users of those ROMS. while one sec settings can most probably work on an other ROM with same base, but you may lose some settings added by those ROM so don't flash other ROM SecSettings unless you don't care or don't have any extra settings.

Here come first themes of many to come
This is WhiteCircle, As you can see the when toggle is on There is a white cirlcle around the icon and when off it is blakc with transparent balck background, see screenshot below

Btw, when you add the battery to netusers mod, can you post it here for eveyone else?
Is it possible to have a screen to discribe quicklaunch?
Thanks.
Very great thread OP. But I asked you how do you get that toggle. (I.e by decoupling susten.ui) all the steps. I didn't ask for how to install guide.

Quick launch is under the bar where you turn off and on stuff and above the brightness adjustable bar. You can add apps with the plus sign. It makes it so you can quickly open apps. It's the clock, Gmail, and hangouts are in the picture.

But I fail to understand the need of having battery icon on notification panel. We pull down the notification panel to quickly toggle or check info.
Why we need to have battery icon for those 2 seconds ? Lol battery icon is always their in statusbar.
Or maybe people just pulldown notification panel and leave it like this ? Lol

Hey everyone so I am bringing to you a mod that I have been working on for the g2, it is a simple mod that can arrange icons and even theme them to look differently. Hopefully everyone enjoys the mod and whatever may be in stored for the future.
The Screenshots:

Download links and instructions can be found in the second post
Future Updates Include:
-Any Request?
Any Bugs
- NO BUGS That I Know of
A big thanks goes to:
@shooterlgk and @uknowme4me who have done all the testing and made it possible for me to bring you guys this mod.
@Ticklefish and @rastigo for there tools, guides and the help they have provided to me in the g2
Important Information and Download Links
Instruction Please Read
How To Restore:
Since the mod is made to support all of the g3 models it would be a rather difficult to maintain a bunch of systemui restore zips, so instead I designed one restore zip which anyone can use:
-download the odex or deodex version depends on your rom:
odex systemui restore zip
deodex systemui restore zip
-unzip on your pc or phone
-copy your lgsystemui.apk and lgsystemui.odex(if your rom deodex this won't be there) into system/priv-app
-rezip and now you have a flashable restore zip
IF YOU DO NOT BACKUP YOUR SYSTEMUI THEN DON'T COMPLAIN IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG
How to install:
It is recommended to have custom recovery to be able to use the mod but if you don't then you can just extract the systemui and replace yours with it:
-using root explorer delete you systemui.apk/odex
-copy the modded systemui and add rw-r--r-- permissions
-reboot and enjoy

Will take a look the layout doesn't specify a specific color for the statusbar, just calls out to an image but should not be hard to implement a mandatory color on statusbar and as mentioned in op I do not own a G3 so don't know much about it

Hey what are you using g3 tweaksbox for, I do not own the g3 and the person who did all testing never had any problems on both odex/deodexed systemui, he also did not use xposed but until now O have never had any problems using the mod in combination with xposed on the g2
Okay G3 851, flashed IOS styles pack...nothing changed except my normal icons are on the left. Flashed Left icon style pack and same thing? I have G3 tweakbox and I know you don't need that with this mod. But just in case that could be the culprit I turned off status bar mods then flashed but still nothing...wish I knew why?

Okay G3 851, flashed IOS styles pack...nothing changed except my normal icons are on the left. Flashed Left icon style pack and same thing? I have G3 tweakbox and I know you don't need that with this mod. But just in case that could be the culprit I turned off status bar mods then flashed but still nothing...wish I knew why?

the styles packs are designed to only move the icons around and you need to flash the icon pack if you want the ios icons; the reason for this is because not everyone including myself like the ios icons but like the ability to have a different looking statusbar, shooterlgk who was the main tester tested the mod using d851 t-mo variant so the mod should work for you no problem if it isn't working than pm me with your framework folder and the lgsystemui.apk/odex and I will get to the bottom of the problem

no worries I had forgotten to put a little explanation into how they work(I had to do same in g2 thread when I rebased mod to use vrthemer to be able to support more roms without needing so many zips) but I added some info and it will help with anyone who has any further confusions
Just tried this on my d855 but flashed in recovery and no change. Have got xposed and tweakbox running don't know if that makes a difference.
Edit Just uninstalled xposed and flashed again but still no change.
not that i don't appreciate what the op had done, don't get me wrong. i do like the idea of making your android "different".
but i just look at it as a sad thing to see. i mean if you want ios theme, if you love the ios theme, why don't you get iphone instead?
nice to see the creativity though...

This mod only over writes the stock icons so you need to change your status bar icons back to stock in tweakbox....otherwise tweakbox over rides. Found this out myself last night.

I understand what your saying but while droid reigns supreme to the iPhone....the iPhone does have a few nice things like the signal dots...they look slick! And all this does is change the stat bar icons..not the whole phone.
Mods like this are brilliant because you can combine the best of both phones and don't have to settle for one or the others limits.
