[Completed] How Bricked Am I? - XDA Assist

Hi,
I found a Samsung SCH-R740C near my apartments dumpster about 3 months ago. After due diligence of trying to return it to its owner (flyers ect) I've given up and decided to mess about with it. Returning it was made more difficult by it not booting past the Samsung logo. I've tried getting into both Download and Recovery mods via all available guides but I cant access either. As far as everything Ive read goes, thins is either not possible, or people give up at this point and warrenty exchange.
Basically I'd like to know where I go to find out just how bricked this is.
Recap of basic info:
Phone: Samsung SCH-R740C
Able to access Download/Recovery: No, not sure if it ever could.
Question: How much of a brick is it?
Thank You.

[Completed] [Q] Root Chinese Tablet

Hi, I've bought a Chinese tablet; http://www.tabletspecsreview.com/ippo-v12-affordable-10-1-inch-kitkat-tablet-specs-review/
My problem is that it doesn't have root permissions. It came with superSu pre-installed but it updated itself via play store and i cannot update the binaries. I tries both normal method and via recovery but since it has an unknown recovery by the manufacturer it failed to install. I searched for various methods on how to root like vroot, towelroot, and many others but in vain. Could someone direct me on how to proceed.

Okay thanks I'll ask for help there.
well I posted there but nobody seems to care...disappointing
I wouldn't put it that way. You need to remember, the older or less popular a device is, the fewer people who own it. Even fewer that own it and come to XDA. Unanswered threads aren't usually from members not bothering to answer.... It's more likely no one knows how to help.
In these cases, a google search of make and model number would likely be a good idea. ?
Hope you find answers. Thread closed.

[Completed] [Q] Toshiba at100

Hello, i think i have software problem with my Toshiba at100. I can't remember what was it exactly:crying:
I rooted him and installed new rom. Then i don't know what happen:crying::crying::crying:
It can't turn on, no recovery mod or anything. I tried to connect him to computer (as expected) nothing happened.
Any help?
Hi,
Are you sure the rom you flashed was for your exact device make and model number? Flashing anything not made for your device can destroy it.
Your device section for help is here ,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/toshiba-thrive/general?nocache=1&z=9216513505671174
But there hasn't been a single post in it for almost two years. So finding help there will be difficult.
You could try asking here also,

Here is an old thread on returning to stock... Perhaps if could help too...

[Completed] Need Help Rooting Lenovo A338t running 4.4.2 (From CHina)

Hey, new user here.
Please guys if there is anyone who has found a safe and phone specific rooting method for this phone please help. I recently got it as a gift from China. Changing the language does not get rid of the annoying Chinese text on certain apps i cant even delete. Furthermore, no Google Apps come with the phone (i guess as a result of China hating Google).
Also, is it possible to use other similar Lenovo rooting methods or do i risk bricking my brand new phone?
Hi,
I can't find anything relevant on XDA for your device. You can try one of the generic root methods at the top of the list here,

[Completed] How do I root a 24.3.7.obakem.en.us Verizon Droid Mini 4.4.4?

Hello I usually have an apple device for my phone but I had to switch plans and all and now I have a Droid Mini. I am new to the android community and rooting and all and it seems very different and harder then jailbreaking. I am really scared that I will mess something up and from what I've been looking through there isn't really a guide to rooting a droid mini 4.4.4. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. I almost used kingoapp but then heard it wasn't very trustworthy. I really don't want to screw up and "brick" my droid mini. Any help is appreciated this is my first android device and I want to root it correctly.

[Completed] Rooting ZTE Speed

I saw another question on this with 0 discussion, just a "Thanks for coming *CLOSED*" on it.
I have a ZTE speed, and I want to root it, and ultimately put another ROM on the POS. I've tried all sorts of methods. Can someone suggest how to do it, or a comparable phone (Such as the Desire/Inspire were almost identical) that I can use for rooting?
