Does anyone have this software version on their device?
Software Version: 1.63.531.2 710RD.....is that normal?
I have that same version. It's "normal" if you updated to the most recent build that T-Mobile stopped the OTA for. The next OTA update starts April 9th I believe.
R u sure about that?

Yes, I'm running that now, rooted and with some of the bloatware deleted. That is the latest released T-Mobile ROM for the MT4GS.
R u sure about another update on the 9th?
The OTA seems to have started rolling out early,.... many have been able to DL it today. And even the OTA ROM has the 71 ORD at the end of the version, so I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.
So since there is an update today there will not be one on the 9th?

No, there won't be another one on the 9th. Today's is just the update that was supposed to start on the 9th:

just grab a ClockworkMod recovery image, here is one place you can get it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17384145&postcount=7
then fastboot flash it the same way you flashed your unlock_code.bin to unlock the bootloader. then you can boot into recovery and flash either superuser or the ROM of your choice.
keep in mind that if you flash a ROM, you may have to refer here:

software number 1.63.531.2 71ord
the revolutionary method says it will not work
i have unlocked the boot loader threw HTC web site
i really want this phone rooted can anyone help Plz?
You have the latest and greatest software which means there may not be a method that works for you yet. You're locked for the time being. Juopunutbear might work, though I've never tried it.

Unlock the bootloader through the htcdev website, follow the root guides afterwards yet remain stock, then try juopunutbear.

the latest leaked update 1.85 isn't rootable so if you want to unlock your bootloader and get in on that fun you should go ahead and do it rather than wait.

i'm still on 1.73 and looking to root only for the purpose of being able to install root-only apps, and not for the purpose of flashing custom roms. if you say that 1.85 isn't rootable, does this mean i should root before getting the update (whenever it becomes available from Rogers)? and if i do take this route, will the update unroot my phone?

1.85 is possible to root and Bootloader unlock. First root your phone ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1644167)
Then use this tool ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672284 ). That will unlock your bootloader and install SuperCID (that's why we do it, for SCID).
After unlocked, you must relock your bootloader, flash 1.85 RUU, then unlock again, flash cwm, and flash Superuser ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1676101 ).
Good luck. It can happen, it's just a long process.

That method is incompatible with 1.85. You will receive an error when trying to root it with that.
My e8 has an unlocked bootloader and is rooted. For the upcoming lollipop update, is it necessary to relock the bootloader?

No need to relock bootloader. You just have to flash stock recovery. I'm newbie, I found it somewhere else (See attached item).

i thought if your on the google version your able to unlock bootloader? Verizon model is not able to unlock bootloader if you take the 7.1.1 update.
Why can't you? Google version allow OEM unlock in dev.options then reboot to fast boot and run fastboot oem unlock. Unless i missed something?

i was trying to use the toolkit to unlock my bootloader
Someone correct me here, but on Google version you don't need to use tool kit i think. I have not unlocked mine and am unsure, but from what i read it's quite literally allow oem unlock then fastboot oem unlock. Again, haven't done it yet so maybe I am off base here.

My apologies, I misread your original post as you having a "Google Verizon Pixel", not version.
I want to root my honor 8 L04 but I was wondering if it will void my warranty.
Thanks,
Thinh
Yes it does and the current method for rooting is kinda sketchy at this time. I'm waiting untill the lineage ROM is done and hopefully by then we will have a better rooting method.

Yes you can relock the bootloader, however it will say relocked bootloader and not locked bootloader like it originally said so you can still see that the bootloader had been unlocked at some point.

To get the status "locked" back you have to downgrade to emui 4.1

I have one question, if I had unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP and rooted my phone, then unrooted it, reverted to stock recovery and relocked bootloader, can I still receive OTA updates?
