I have seen this phone a lot... The alcatel one touch scribe but it seems like there are no compatible themes and worse of all... There isnt any update for thid after the 4.2 androidm does anyone know what i can use to either upgrade the firmware or simply get a rom ? My alcatel is already rooted... Thanks.

I recently acquired an Alcatel Idol OT - 6030x and would like to change its ROM. I've already rooted the phone, how do I know which ROMS are compatible with my phone? I've tried a bit of searching, but I've found no concrete answer.

Actually some guy from Poland made 3 custom ROMs for Alcatel OT Idol 6030x. I think he ported them.
The first is 4.1.2 based and I think that pretty much everything on that ROM works.

The second is 4.2.2 based and pretty much everything works but has one bigger issue. The microphone doesn't work. So if you use your phone to talk to somebody often then I this won't be your daily ROM.

The third is MIUI 4.3.20. 4.2.2 based. But the Microphone and FM Radio don't work. And seems that you can't enable root permissions on this ROM. Do not try to do a system update because it will install a ROM for the ZTE phone from whom this ROM was ported so it will brick you phone.

I've bought recently a chuwi V88s tablet but it seems the g-sensor is not working
Actually it has never worked. I've made a upgrade with thé latest version 20130809 but still no recovery of the accelerometer.
So I was wondering if it is due to the ROM or hardware.
Do someone have this issue with this tablet ?

When I rooted the same phone I used this tutorial from cnet

I am unable to post the link
It uses Kingo Android Root and it supports Alcatel one touch idol X
No Roms

I've tried to install many ROMs available around, but they don't work on Bell / Virgin. I think all ROMs made for 6040D (2 sim cards version) and my phone can't find any network after upgrade.
Root you can easily do with Kingo Android ROOT, but you will need drivers from Alcatel (search on their Support site for MTK USB driver)

Can anyone shed some light on this? I haven't attempted to rootr my Idol X 6040A just yet until I'm sure it's possible.
Has anyone performed a successful ROOT on the Alcatel OneTouh Idol X 6040A and then successfully brought it up to working condition with a reputable ROM?

Best instructions and seems to have the best results for 6040A users. There's a lot of talk in that post though so I recommend doing a thread search for 6040A to fnd the answers.
I've rooted this phone successfully but I'm still looking for stable custom ROMs.
Any advice would be appreciated
Does anybody know of a version of twrp and/cyanogenmod for a phone similar enough to the alcatel fierce xl that it might work?
Shouldnt have to worry about bricking it sincce the thread a couple of threads down has the stock rom flashing tool that works for this phone. Thanks
