[Q] Pause music/media app when receive a call? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I noticed that my when OPO (probably other android devices too) receive a call, the music/media app doesn't automatically pause or mute. It keeps playing unless I pause the app. Is there anything I can do to make it automatically pause the music/media app? I've been searching all over the place but still don't have a clue what to do with it. I'd be appreciated if anyone can come up with a solution. Thanks

You should always specify the ROM you are using and the App that you are using.
Anyways I've never had this happen, I've used Google Play Music, Poweramp, PlayerPro, GoneMad Music Player, Apollo & Shuttle+ and they all pause when I receive a call.

Ah, sorry my bad. I use unroot XNPH44S with a Google Play Music. I think it might have something to do with a silent mode and headphone. I'll test it and see if that's the problem. Thank you for your response, Galactus.

Music Player that only pauses for phone calls?

Is there a player out there that will pause only for phone calls? When I had a hero, the player worked great...would only pause for phone calls or if I was using navigator and a new turn was coming up. Since getting an Evo, the player pauses for everything, often times, I can't even tell what caused the pause in the music, just something that hit the processor I suppose.
I dont have a suggestion, but totally agree with you. I wish all music apps would allow us to have settings for Notifications, Phone Calls, Navigations, etc. It is sadly overlooked on all the media players that I have tried so far.
If you went to download a music player and then saw it say "controls phone, data, mms, internet,sd card, and had root. Most people would be worried fo ssecurity to download such an app. Its not attractive when an app practicaly needs ur entire phone open to use.
Voodoo sound has a Mod to disable all those notifications if I'm not mistaken.

System/Music volume is stuffed in ICS stock ROM

Hi all,
Recently updated to official ICS. I like to listen to music on my HTC, and I found a major glitch. Whenever you are playing music (with the stock player), and there is another system sound (ie SMS notification), the entire media volume of the phone dies.
For example, I am listening to music and I receive a SMS. I hear the SMS and the music stops playing. I check the music app and the slider is still moving but there is no sound. After that point there is NO media volume at all! I start a game. No sound. I start a video. No sound. Youtube. No sound. Only way to fix this is restart the phone.
If I'm listening to music and I wanna play a game. I start the game and the game has its own sound. The music stops playing and the game sounds are also now gone. Only way to get any sound back is to restart.
Basically whats happening is if there ANY other non-music sound, it ends up killing the phone's Media volume. Only way to fix is restart.
Anyone else have this problem?
Running stock ICS 4.0.3 Vodafone Australia ROM.
Sounds like a fluke - cause this doesn't really happen to anyone else. Since you're stock, the way to fix most issues is to wipe your data and start from scratch. Most people who have random issues like this do that and it clears up.
Not its not a fluke. I can reproduce it even after a factory reset. It only happens with stock player not another player I downloaded from Play.
Maybe its a problem with the Vodafone ROM.

If you can reproduce the issue with a factory reset then perhaps you could try flashing your RUU and see if the issue persists. I do know that what you're describing is NOT a wide spread problem, and that means it's either isolated to your device or to VODA's build...

I meant fluke as in only happening to you, not only happening once.
Try Grogg's advice. Hell, flash his rom, music player works great in it.
Similar issue here
I'd just like to say I have a similar issue with mine. If i am listening to music and receive an SMS or email notification then the music volume increases to match that of the notification. Pressing either volume up or down then changes it one step from the original volume.
I also have another issue with the default music player. If I am listening to music at work, press pause then remove the headphones (when leaving my desk for a short while) after plugging headphones back in when I press play the sound quality is often seriously distorted. Pressing pause then play again always seems to sort this out...
I've noticed 3 or 4 little bugs with the latest (UK) release on my phone, I keep expecting another update to sort them out but so far nothing...

[Q] Stop music playing when connecting to bluetooth

Hi,
Got a seriously annoying problem. Whenever my phone connects to bluetooth, which is usually in my car, it starts playing the last song I listened to by auto launching google play music and playing away. I don't know if I'm being blind but I can't find a setting to turn this off. Sometimes I might want to stream music in the car, but not automatically on connecting!
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Sorry to jump on this ages old thread, but I'm wondering this same thing. Google Play Music is the culprit, just like you, and it's also when I connect my phone to my car's bluetooth and I don't want it to automatically play. I didn't find any options within the app itself.
I had this issue before and I used ROM Toolbox Pro to turn off one of the autostart receivers for this app and that seemed to work, but I cannot remember which one it was or even how it would've become enabled again in the first place.
EDIT: I think one reason for this is any songs that might be in 'queue' inside the app. Like if you were playing from a playlist or something. Wipe the songs out of the queue (should just be able to swipe them away) and I think that should work.
I'm still looking for a bluetooth receiver I might be able to disable to not have to worry about it.
Interesting. I've always had to use third party options to MAKE the phone autostart music when connecting to bluetooth. As the above posts states there are no options in Play Music to turn this on or off. What ROM are you running? Is it possible your ROM, a third party app, or maybe even your head unit is causing this?

Question Stop Play music automatically when blue tooth is on or phone calls ended

How to Stop Play music automatically when blue tooth is on or phone calls ended in pixel 7 pro?
Hello!
Can you please be more precise?
Which app plays the music?
And you really want to end the music after a call (so during the call the music will be played)?
Usually it is the other way round ;-)

I know what he means. I have that, where I'll be listening to music, I get a call, pause the music to take the call and when it ends, the music or whatever I'm listening to starts playing again right away.
If I'm streaming to my car, which I don't set take to calls in my BT settings when I DO get a call, hit pause and put one of my buds in to answer it, when the call is over, whatever I was streaming just starts right up in my earbuds instead of waiting for me to unpause on my car-radio again.
OK, but these are setups in the app plays the music and not a general system setting.
I dont do anything like playing music or so.. When i switch on my car, when iy switch to bluetooth mode, music plays automatically.
In app, i have stopped auto start music. Still music is played via bluetooth without me starting a music

ok, understood.
But which app plays the music?
Jet audio, pi music these are the two music player i have.
I think there should be some setting available to play music with Bluetooth connection on to a device. I don't know more on this
Yeah I don't get the issue, stop the app that automatically starts the music when connecting to car Bluetooth. Go through the settings and disable auto-start. Only iPhones and iPads do that crap.
Also check Android Auto and your bluetooth settings in the car, they usually have auto-play settings
If that not help what schmeggy929 proposes: disable the permissions of these apps
especially Nearby Bluetooth devices:
