[Completed] Cannot unmount OTG drive - XDA Assist

Dear All!
I expect some problem with the device stated in my signature.
Sometimes (not always) when I insert OTG flash drive with FAT32 some strange zero-sized file creates in root directory of the drive. The file has name like "2691bc3e-163e-4828-83e4-b7815e344d0a" (the name changes from time to time).
If I want to unmount the drive normally - I have to delete this file before unmounting.
If I try to unmount without deleting - it will not be successful. Moreover if I try to delete the file after pressing unmount - the file cannot be deleted and the file manager freezes (tested on Root Explorer, Solid Explorer> Total Commander etc). After that I still cannot unmount the drive.
My questions are:
1. What can cause such file creation?
2. Is there any application that can show information about what active app is working with this file? I know about StickMount Pro, but it simply kills the app without giving any information about it.
Thanks in advance.

[Completed] [Q] SAMSUNG SM-T805 just won't let edit files on SD

Just purchased my galaxy tab s. When I found out how it behaves with external memory rooted it at once, did the thing for read/write permissions, disabled this weird safety feature and... It does not alow editing files to any program which causes a big problem when I try to use "iGO" navigator for example which keeps its files on SD, or use some office program to edit any content on SD... It does alow creating and deleting files though.
Any ideas? Many thanks in advance!
Hi,
I see you've already asked about this in the appropriate section. Good! ?
XDA Assist is here to help navigate the site, not for support. And you've already found your way.

[Completed] [Q] Access a file on mobile through laptop(PS: not copy cut paste but actual access)

To be precise, my purpose is: I want to use an MS Access database, stored in my mobile memory through a software on my laptop, both being in the same WiFi network.
I have used various file manager apps, but everywhere I am able to just copy, paste or move the file through laptop on mobile and vice versa.
To give an example: Through ES File Explorer, I opened an excel file in my mobile through my laptop and worked on it. But when I wanted to save, then instead of saving on the same excel file, it created a new copy. But my purpose was that it should have saved on the same excel file, like it happens to any other file if saved on laptop memory.
I hope I've been able to explain myself.
I'll be really glad if someone could provide me a solution to this.
PS: I have rooted my phone, so problem of not having root access won't be there.

[Completed] [Q] INSTALLING ANY APPS FROM APK & obb FILES (NO PIRACY & NON ROOTED DEVICE)

PLZ MIND IT THAT I DONT USE PIRATED SOFTWARES AND I AM HAVING A NON ROOTED DEVICE !
Query:
Google Play now provides APK file and also obb file along with it which was not there before. So, due to my lack of network on my smartphone, I had downloaded the app "Microsoft Word" & "My talking tom" from my PC which provided me an APK file and another one is obb file. I followed the instructions from youtube and copied the obb file in the "phone memory/Android/data" folder and copied the APK in the phone memory and installed the APK. But, even after properly following the procedure, the apps were again downloading the EXPANSION PACK but not accessing the obb file i already copied into the "phone memory/Android/data".
I also found that I have NO obb folder in sd card or phone memory, so I created one and followed the steps but the same thing happened.
(in some website, I found that i have to install a game from play store to get the obb file) But still, such problem should not arise.
please help, dont provide guessing/fake/spam answers because this problem is been faced by many users. Thanks in advance.

[Completed] How to "push" files from a zip-ped app

Hi I have a China tablet that has no apparent "recovery" and I'm afraid of flashing a recovery and risk bricking it.
I want to try to install a zipped app. (Maxx Audio) the file structure is
- Meta-INF
- System
somewhere in the "system" there is an apk file
I presume I "install" that apk file, then copy all the files under "system" into the "system" folder of my tablet?
Where do i put "meta-INF" files?
Thank you very much. Apologies for sounding dumb. I have googled for a few days and found no answer so I thought I'd ask at XDA.
Any help is appreciated.

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
We cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist and it's difficult to point you towards a specific forum since you didn't provide any information about which device/ROM/file you have in mind. The file you describe seems to be a common "flashable ZIP" designed to be loaded by a custom recovery such as TWRP. Without such a recovery, you would need to study the steps included in whatever scripts are in the "meta-INF" directory and duplicate them manually from a terminal emulator prompt or maybe from an ADB link to a desktop or laptop, an eminently dangerous endeavor NOT recommended unless you're positive you know what you're doing. If you need more information, try asking with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help. That's a good place to start where members familiar with your device might be able to advise you. You could also ask wherever you found the file you're attempting to install.
Good luck!
Thank you. In the zip thread someone said just to install the apk and then push the files and it worked for him.

It all depends on what command(s) the script in the ZIP file contains but I'm sure whoever uploaded the file can help you. As mentioned earlier, we cannot provide technical support here, sorry.

[Completed] Touchpad Toolbox a new 'disk' usually named "HP TOUCHPAD" You should find 'ttinstall

Touchpad Toolbox a new 'disk' usually named "HP TOUCHPAD" You should find 'ttinstall
TPToolbox displays the message: The 'media' volume should now be made available to your PC as a new 'disk' usually named "HP TOUCHPAD" You should find a 'ttinstall' directory on this 'disk' . The drive shows up but it is an unformated drive with no label, so of course it does not have the 'ttinstall directory on it. (since it is unformated). Vista asks if it should format the drive. So that ends the install proceedure since the gapps files cannot be copied to it. Thanks Mac
