[Q] Firetv vs. S802 Box aka "other" Android Boxes - Android General

I'm currently debating between an Firetv and a S802 android box. I want to get the S802 or something similar because it seems to be more open but I have a concern that the video performance is not as good. Does the S802 or one of the other Android boxes capable of streaming Netflix, HBO Go, and Plex in HD or superHD (similar to what can be seen on a Chromecast)?

[Q]Android Tv Stick/Box compatible with DVB-T Stick

I've been looking for over a month for a quad core Avdroid Tv stick or Box with an integrated DVB-T receiver but there is none on the market!
There lot's single and dual cores out there but if you want something more high end then you're out of luck!
Is there a way for an
Android TV box/Stick (exaple: K-R42 Quad Core Google Android 4.2.2 RK3188)
to support
a simple DVB-T dongle/stick/thingy? (example: Geniatech PT115m)
or just any kind of tuner?
Since there are lot's of tv tuner sticks out there for android tablets its logical that they could work on an android tv box or stick.
I'd be more than grateful if someone has the resources to test this out and share the results.
What are the compatible hardware?
How responsive actually is (if so working) tv browsing?
How about remote control, PVR, Timeshift, etc support?
Which app does this work with?

ok ,dear,i understand you ,and do you want duad core or quad core? And whether you have a demand and the RAM and ROM?:cyclops:
i have a few side by side 3d films that play perfectly fine on my cs918 (rk3188). i also use the vlc app to play the videos and my tv combines the 2 side by side videos to make 1 3d video
i got the CS918 with Bluetooth for £45 from Amazon. although it claims to be a 1.8ghz quad core its actually a 1.6ghz quad core although still runs very smoothly. 2gb ram, xmbc installed, wifidisplay installed and comes rooted with 4.2.2 but the is custom roms to take it to 4.4.2 if thats what you want

Does it cause your TV to switch to 3D without you having to do anything? I got an Android TV box to replace my Pi just to have a little more speed but the Android will not cause the TV to switch like the Pi does. I have to manually switch it. I went back to the Pi but would love to get the Android working as it is faster and has other apps and games.

my tv doesnt jump straight to 3d but it pops up with the 3d menu and asks me to pick whether its left & right 3d, top & bottom 3d or 2d to 3d conversion
1 bonus. if your tv supports 2d to 3d conversion then try it on GTA San Andreas. the game doesnt support 3d but my tv does an amazing job of making it look 3d. Mario Kart 64 running on an emulator also looks strangely good being converted to 3d.

[Q] kodi on android stick

I was looking at dx for android tv on sticks (link) -
I wonder, does xbmc kodi run on all these android 4.2.2? I'm looking at the pieces with 2gb ram / 8gb space.
Also, can I assume the standard google tv app (on both android and ios) will be able to control the stick?
Thanks!

Android TV Box or Rasberry Pi

I am looking for feedback on weather an android tv box or Rasberry Pi would better suit my needs. I will be using it mainly as an htpc. I'll be running transmission bittorent client constantly but generally more seeding then leeching. I will also be running kodi on the box as well as doing some retro gaming with emulators.
I already have a Transpeed X3 Air android tv box and it gets the job done OK for torrents and kodi but often seems to lag when gaming. The specs are an amlogic X3 with 4 gb ram and 128gb storage built in. Best I can tell the rasberry pi 4 performs generally on part with the X3 so I'm wondering if a pi 4 would trully be benifical? I believe I'd rather run Linux(Manjaro KDE on arm preferably) then android in this particular case and still meet all my needs and possibly increase performance through simplicity?
Thoughts?
