I had the same issue at first, what you need to do is download a version of odin (mine is 3 v185) and then flash it to stock using that. You can download the stock firmware via samsung's website. I think you tried the auto root method because that's what initally softbricked mine however it can be fixed AND rooted by following a tutorial on galaxy s5 root . [com] not the AUTO. Good luck.

i just bought a samsung galaxy s vibrant and i was trying to unlock it via odin and stuff. i am new to this and somehow managed to brick my phone or something :'( it will go into download mode, not recovery mode, and when i try to turn it on normally the screen is black with ethier green or red and blue tiny pixels... wth happened?! how do i fix this, PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! the phone will sometimes go into a loading loop to
Sorry but I don't know anything about flashing samsung devices. But if you manage to get it into downloading mode it is most certainly not bricked. The reason I reply is to tell you that you will more likely get helped in the galaxy s forum than here, you should probably ask over there again.
Cheers

Hi there, I followed all the instructions,in a tutorial, at androidxda.com/root-samsung-galaxy-tab-4-10-1-sm-t530 - I saw that the only difference between the T530 and T531 (mine) was GPS, so I wrongly thought it would work
but when odin was finished it said "RESET" in blue not "PASS" in green
Now the Tablet stuck in download mode and when I press and hold the power it just reboots and says:

I read other's bricked threads and they doesnt explain if it will work in 5.1.1.

I can try Samsung smart switch, it might work. Our if you have a Best Buy with a Samsung experience counter they can do it for you, I bricked one during an update and had mine reflashed at my local Best Buy.

Hi !
This tutorial is for a different s5 variant but it should work and you must chose the correct firmware for your asian variant
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785185
Read properly before proceeding and don`t jump into first website you see on internet , with this smartphones there is no "one click solution" , lot of reading is required if you don`t want to throw money in the wind
Good luck !
