Picked this up cyber Monday. Normally priced at $49.99. Was $8 shipped. Figured couldn't be a bad deal.
Its a pretty slick external pack in that you can use most any case I'd imagine with this external battery pack as it attached via suction cups on the back. It chargers using a micro USB. Does not come with charging block.
The package and device claim its a 2000mAh capacity battery inside. As usual...I'm always skeptical about that. I charged it fully today and charged my note with it today. My note was at 52%. The powerskin lasted an hour charging my note to 88% when it finally ran out of steam. Phone was on the whole time (sleeping for 90% of it).
Not bad for $8. I wouldn't recommend it at $50...maybe $25 max. Handy little thing to have when you're in a pinch.

I would like to find out how long would this pack last with eneloop battery's.
anyone have any idea?
also if it would be possible to build or find a external battery that can take 8AA battery's.
Eneloop AAs are rated 2,000 mAh?
my rough guesstimate, you'll get about 4x your normal stock battery life from the pack, after you factor in losses from heat and from converting the pack's juice into your cell battery.
maybe a little more?
whats the total mah for the pack if i put in 2000mah batteries? 10 000mAh?
RAVPower rp-pb03 external battery
I own one before, it is really charge my HTC EVO 4G with bad result. I only use the device once before it basically melted. For reference, I used Sanyo Eneloop batteries in the charger and I used the retractable cable provided with the mini usb adapter. The charger did recharge my batteries, but it got so hot when charging my phone that the outer case warped from overheating. So I ask to replacement, however, the second one I received got the same problem. Also the charging speed is very slow.
I bought another RAVPower rp-pb03 external battery on Amazon one month ago. Since now the battery works very great. I love this device! Not only does it have a very handy flashlight, but it never leaves you guessing how much power is left. It works with my phone, my wife's phone and both of our tablets (all different brands!) The size is nice and compact, and I like the robust weight. It's easy to use, and compatible with everything I've tried! This is by far the BEST accessory I've bought for my electronics by far!
Hi, im going on a trip soon and was looking for an external battery charger. I did my research and I found a couple of things on amazon and I was wondering about your opinions.

I bought a Yoo Bao 2800mah battery and love it. You can also go the route of buying extra stock sized batteries. Myself, I don't care for the things that you posted. I would only consider them rational if you have something with out a removable battery like a iPhone.
I have tried the extended battery. I have found the best solution is to have spare oem pre charged with me. I have the oem galxay stand alone charger, and it charges the battery fairly quickly. No need for the phone to be connected and do more damage to the usb port.

This is awesome! I just bought it yesterday at Walgreens here in Hawaii, for $30, because we're having thunderstorms and I'm worried we'll have a blackout. I was kinda hesitant but read good reviews.
I also bought a 4 pack Energizer rechargeable AA nimh batteries at 2300mah per battery with charger for $20. Again I was worried it wouldn't work since the lithium batteries that came with it were 1.5v while the rechargeable ones are 1.2v, and I read a user said it wouldn't work, but to my surprise they work!
I woke up this morn to the fully charged energizer batteries, my phone was also fully charged, and I went out to test it without bringing along my charger. Going to the beach and catching the bus I listened to music and watch videos with 4G on and when it got to 50% I put in the rechargeable AAs into the Energi to go plugged it into my phone and after about an hour and a half it was up to 97%, used phone again till it got down 50% then juiced it up again and went to swim.
Got back from swimming it was full, while waiting for the bus to go back I was watching vids and surfing the net all the way home, got home and with the same 2 AA rechargeables I plugged it in again and after my nap I saw that the energi to go charger stopped blinking and the phone was at 99%. So about 2 full charges on the 2 aa rechargeables, and I still had the other two rechargeables and the original lithium ones ready to go.
These are great for the time being and a keeper for Black outs, I'm still gonna get the Mugen 4500 mah extended though, but I feel safe now with this Energizer Energi to go portable cell phone charger. Go get it.
Just ordered this on eBay. You get 2 batteries and a compact charger. I've been using one of these (2 batteries + charger) with my Samsung Portal for the last 12 months. You get the benefits of.........
1 a spare (or 2) battery to carry in your pocket to use as and when needed.
2 You can charge the spare batteries while using your phone.
3 You are not shoving the micro USB plug in and out of your phone. This stops it getting knackered prematurely.
The batteries I got for the Samsung seem to be as good as the original, hopefully these will be just as good.

I had extra batteries for my Galaxy S too, they were part of a cheap accessories package but cheap as they were, they did their job as promised.
Those batteries for the O3D will come in handy for sure, thanks a lot for the link!
I am a power user when it comes to my mobile devices! I will eat through the battery of my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in just a few hours. I totally relied previously on extended batteries from Anker for my other (older) phones. But since they (extended batteries) are not out yet, I could not wait. I went to Anker's site because I have always used their products for the last several devices I have owned. And I saw this external battery with 13,000mAh of power... plus the "Power IQ" feature with 3amp output... I did not hesitate to get one.
The thing I always HATED about "extended" batteries for a cell phone is how HUGE and UGLY they make the phone look! Plus the extra weight. This new external 2nd Gen Astro Battery from Anker fits EASILY into my front pants pocket. Its not heavy. It comes with a nice mesh travel bag, that fits 2 of my micro usb cables (see previous review). So whenever I stop somewhere, I can plug my phone in and charge up. Because of the 3amp output, and the "PowerIQ" circuitry, my phone charges fast!!!
The *ONLY* "CON" (negative) thing I can say is that it does not engage the Adaptive Charging feature in the Note 4. But, I still see very fast charging results. When I finish the day, I am still at 100% on my phone... and the Anker 2nd Gen Astro can go for another 2 days keeping me going without having to be recharged. This 13,000mAh battery pack will charge my Note 4's battery fully about 4 times.
One small bonus.. there is a little LED flashlight built in! It helps when looking for things at the bottom of my computer case!
I am glad I got it. I am glad I found a solution without "bloating" my phone.
Shipping was really fast. Service in the past has always been wonderful from Anker. I highly recommend!
