I went on the camera app and set the pictures to go to my sd card but they end up just going into my internal memory. I already sent most of them to the sd card. Is there a way to automate this process? If i send all of my pictures to SD card is there a way to quick view them? Like will it appear on the photo album or google pictures app?

A few questions:
First off, I am assuming that the phone has 2 SD cards: 1 that is built in, and 1 external SD card(if you purchased one).
1) After I "unmount SD card"(assuming this is the external one that I've purchased), I go to gallery and there are 8 photos there that are labeled:
"sdcard (8)". SInce I've already "unmounted" the SD card, I'm assuming these 8 photos are saved on the phone's built in SD card. Can someone confirm that what I've said is correct?
2) After I "mount SD card", a lot more photos pop up when I go back to gallery. They are labeled as follows: 89 photos that are labeled "Camera_External (89)" and 15 photos that are labeled ""100MEDIA" (15)". Ok now I'm assuming all these 104 photos are saved on the external SD card that I've purchased. Can someone confirm this is correct?
3) How do you control which SD card(phone and external) your photos and videos get saved to?
4) How do you move photos and videos from the phone SD card to the external SD card?
5) When I sync my phone with a google account, how do I get all these photos to sync? It seems I can only get my contacts and calendar to sync.
Sorry for so many questions guys, but I do appreciate any help. Thank you in advance.
My gallery has 56GB data... If I clear this will it delete my photos and does anyone know why this is happening in the first place as all my photos vids etc are stored on SD card
Your question makes no sense... If you delete the gallery of course it will delete all pics... But as there is scarcely any android phones that have more than 32GB internal, my guess is that there's an error in your statement, or that your pics are already on a 64GB SD card...

I have a samsung galaxy s4 which I just installed a micro sd card in to free up space on the device to upgrade to android lollipop. I moved all my photos to the sd card and now when I take a picture, the photo is automatically saved to the sd card (which is good). However, I use the picasa app which was pre-installed on the phone for organising my pictures, instead of the gallery app, as I want all the pictures to back up to google plus. The problem I'm now having is that deleting a picture in the picasa photo app does not delete the picture from the sd card! It deletes from the picasa gallery, from the stock gallery app and also from the auto backup album on google plus (which is what I want), the only thing is doesn't do is actually delete the picture from the sd card for some reason? When the photos were saved on the device it deleted the pictures from there but it doesn't seem to want to do the same thing with the sd card. This is annoying as I have to 1st delete the picture in the picasa photo app to get rid of it from the online back up album, and then go into files-all files-DCIM-camera, and then select the photo and delete it from there! Is it possible to have this sync properly again so I don't have to do this?!
Thanks
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Lets start by properly identifying your device, which variant of the S4 do you have please?
No response in two days, thread closed.
I have a Pictures folder in the root of my SD card. By default several apps created their own folder in Pictures and save their photos in that folder.
If I move the Pictures folder to my SD card what will happen? Will the apps find their folder on the SD card and keep using it? Or will a new Pictures folder be created on internal storage and fragment my app data?
In that latter case, I assume that the app would only see the photos in the newly generated folder and not see any of the photos I moved to the SD card. Is that right?
Are you able to change the storage from the camera app from Google photos, instead saving them to the phone? I'm getting frustrated.
On the camera app, clicking on the setting icon brings up the "storage" option, which for me is SD card or internal memory. So my pics are always saved to the phone.
My picture files are also synced to Google photos, so it is also saved to the cloud also. <I am sure you can disable that somewhere, prob under Google account, but I have not tried.>
Now, the default way to view photos on the phone is Google photos. So maybe that's why you think that photos are only saved to Google. If you use the "File" app, (or other file manipulation app, or pull the SD card and put it in a computer, if that is where you saved the photos) you will see that there are copies of all the photos on the phone.
