[VRTHEME] [WIP] AOSP 4.3 for Stock ROMs v0.9 (Status Bar/Notifications)

Disclaimer: This theme replaces only requisite altered files within themed .apks - currently only LGSystemUI.apk. However, I am not responsible for any replaced/overwritten themes or mods, non-operational devices, or dead puppies. Flash at your own risk.
Note: This is a WIP and is just the beginning (hopefully). I am, by no means, a developer or great themer. I am mostly learning a lot of this stuff as I go and it takes me time - which I do not have a lot of. I do what I can, whenever I get the chance. Updates most likely will be slow. I am fully open to input or help from any who have some to offer; as long as it isn't a suggestion to add such-and-such feature/element. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

AOSP 4.3 for Stock ROMs
This project is to bring as much of AOSP elements as possible to G2 Stock ROMs.​
Screenshots
Features
Currently modified packages: LGSystemUI.apk
- Changed Status bar and some notification area icons to AOSP icons
- Combined signal/data and arrows icons for wifi and mobile to match AOSP
- Changed clock and date colors to holo blue
- Blacked out notifications area, replaced and resized pulldown handle
- Moved LG-implemented battery percentage inside the battery (CM style)
- One-Finger notification expansion!! (seriously, LG? Two-finger expansion???)
Bugs
- Ticker (ongoing) notifications icons are slightly shrunk. I have been looking into this to discover why and fix it.
To Install:
- Download zip in attachments in this post
- Reboot recovery and flash zip
- Reboot and enjoy!
Currently, this has only been tested on VZW G2 with Malladus ROM. Technically this would work on all Stock-based G2 ROMs, although I know different carrier versions use different images in these apks - which I have not modified yet - so this would not quite look right on other variants. Once I change the rest of the icons, I will update the post reflecting the changes.

I've not actually seen the new dialer yet, but i know they made a lot of functional changes to it. Dialer's cant just be added in as they tie in to deep portions of the OS I am not familiar with. I am hoping to make the G2 dialer layout similar to AOSP.

Thank you. I was thinking about migrating to 4.4, but i have not taken a good look at 4.4 yet. I'll check it out tomorrow and see if it would work better to go that direction since right now it would only involve changing some colors.

Any chance you could make a white version of this? Like in kitkat

After installing to stock 4.2.2 recived: Sorry, 10 stopped and don´t let enter pin. Factori reset did´nt help, cant set up phone shows only Sorry, 10 stopped. Any help or bricked phone? Forgot to do backup before installed .zip.

About the Project
Since there is no developer working on a Lollipop Custom Rom for the villec2 anymore, @JavierG123 suggested to make a JB Rom with the look of Android 5.0.

I just compiled a new cm10.1 rom with bilal's JB kernel and device tree.
Version 0.1 will be released soon.

Camera does not work, everything else is fine.
MonsterUI 5.0 theme works and looks nice so far. Now we need a android L icon pack and lockscreen.

Another thing, in bilal github have a lot of villec2 kernels. Maybe we have to try :-s

The screenshot looks great, but we need a module for the status bar have the same color as the app we are using. Like lollipop or SaM rom.. don't always black

I'll take a look at latest the msm8660-common tree on github maybe they found a solution for that.

Do you know Open Camera? It's a really great open source camera app with MUCH more features than stock camera. I'm thinking of implementing this or even replacing stock camera app. What do you think?

This theme is better than monsterui. Status bar changes colors now. At least on those apps which support it. Youtube however doesn't... a red status bar doesn't look that great anyway

@marcioafoliveira Apparetly Spirit does support our SoC. It found the local radio stations but audio is not working.
If it's a sound driver problem maybe the qcom caf drivers can fix it.

or you can replace it too with camera on SaM ROM.

I think some icons changed but they are still very small. The lookscreen is really nice and looks awesome
The Keyboard already changed and maybe there is a way to make it change colors, too.

for Launcher they say : Nova launcher OR KK Launcher (lollipop). or theme they suggest Lollipop LINE Launcher.
For Icons they say: Moonshine - Icon Pack OR Lcons 5.0 (Lollipop)
For Wallpapers say: Material OR Wallpapers (lollipop)
For loockscreen they say: KK Locker - Lollipop & KitKat

@Indie_Jones i have a idea. if its possible, we can port all apps form CM12 to our CM10, and do the same with GAPPs. port GAPPs for CM12 to our GAPPS for CM10. and use the apps i listed bellow.

Yes, that happened when I had cm10.1.
One bug that our phone had is that multi touch don't work well when we have another lock screen. I don't know why that happens but it happens...

Using Flat Style Bar Indicator 1.22 would FC every time I changed an icon. Were you just powering through this to get it working?
I'm using App Settings 1.10 successfully, to change DPI on an app by app basis.
APM+ 17.11 doesn't work at all (not surprisingly), due to the different power menu that LG has. Someone needs to get APM working for this phone, for sure.

I updated my post to reflect the version numbers.

This may be redundant but be careful using gravity box, it caused my fast charging and system ui to not work right and broke functionality with some other modules.

First post updated with modules and links for root and xposed. I also recommend using g4 tweaksbox over gravity box for stability and a member in the g4 forum has made some themes that work with our phones.

Also keep in mind that those are for the G4 and some drawables won't match all of ours. There are some differences in the G4 and V10. He owns a G4 so that is where his support will go.. I wouldn't recommend bombarding him with questions about the V10..

I was more so advocating g4 tweaksbox, I just wanted to give him some recognition because his themes are nice and more or less theme everything intended. We need our own themer for the v10 though

I know.. What I was saying was more to the general public and not directed at you. It just added it to my original post to you of thumbs up! No worries, definitely no worries.. There's just not enough development for this phone on other carriers yet and everyone that does dev for Lg is still on the G4 because it just came out too. Maybe soon they'll make the jump and it might not be till the next V whatever.. What I would recommend is having the other carrier owners get a phone for them to work on. That is about the only chance.. Right now the Tmo version is carrying this forum by default and that won't get this phone very far at all with development..

I've been developing for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for quite a while doing the DTUX CORP ROM, and now that my device's hardware gave up i ordered a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Chinese Ed to continue with the fun of making roms and kernels.
I don't have previous MIUI past experience so i'm not aware of the good and the bad it brings, i've checked some youtube videos but is up to YOU to guide me on what should be added in order to improve the experience.
The rom will be MIUI based, debloated the maximun possible without cutting any functionality and with new mods added.

No, there is no third one. Indian == Global and they both will have same rom but China has different rom. There are some users reporting problems on RN5 China when using Global Rom like camera fc etc.. That's why I asked

Got it, the camera is different on the Chinese variant which is the logical reason for the fc's. So far I'm leaning towards working with the Global if i don't get issues myself.
It should not be much different, im downloading both bases and do an in-depth compare, but the base that gets more updates and mods would probably be the one to follow

MODS request
1- IN MIUI , we cant hide media in gallery with turning on MI Cloud Sync. It will be really helpfull if we can disable this check.
2.. Instead it ll be good if we can remove all mi account related stuff from phone.
3. Bundled notifications (I think its already in oreo rom )
Actually im also using MIUI for the first time . In past i was using Lg phones . You can check a developer Named "Xpirt" who makes stock Lg Roms. one thing i really liked in his roms that he inculde a app in his roms which include many tweaks like customising buttons , status bar , changing nav bar hieght , etc .
As of now my device is locked due that 86006 error otherwise i can be tester for your roms , In fact it ll be really helpful if we can find any unofficial BL unlock method

1.If possible take China rom as base.I think China ROMs are more polished and optimize.
2.add kcal support.

Actually im also using MIUI for the first time . In past i was using Lg phones . You can check a developer Named "Xpirt" who makes stock Lg Roms. one thing i really liked in his roms that he inculde a app in his roms which include many tweaks like customising buttons , status bar , changing nav bar hieght , etc .
As of now my device is locked due that 86006 error otherwise i can be tester for your roms , In fact it ll be really helpful if we can find any unofficial BL unlock method

Kcal is kernel related, we need kernel source code to be able to add that.

I'm a little against xposed because of my experience with it. Don't get me wrong, xposed is awesome but the more modules you use, the more unstable the system becomes, so i prefer to try to add as much features to the rom in order for us not to miss it too much.
A modded launcher will be in my agenda :good:

Just The Stores
If you can just provide us with The Setting, camera, play store and the mi app store.

It is miui based. So, substratum can't rock because
Miui's theme engine is on the stage.

Could you make all themes free?

Hi,
MIUI10 is still in beta, but im pleased to submit my Substratum Theme for Android/SystemUI.
You can use Official or Third Party Theme for the rest.
You can choose several Qs Form, change Qs Icons and change Notification Background.

Procedure:
1/ Install latest substratum engine from playstore.
2/ Root or use andromeda
3/ Some Miui Version need to allow several stuff, just follow substratum tips on first launch on Miui10.
4/ Install Theme, choose option in Theme > build and update Layers.
5/ Reboot
6/ Theme Manager > enable Layers
7/ Reboot
8/ Enjoy
CONS:
Need 2 Reboots kind of annoying...
PROS:
Better than mtz as colors can be changed

Update for Miui11 (Android 10 or 9)….
Theme has been merged with my default subs theme.
Last Version is 3.9.1V2.
Theme is for Aosp,OOS,Miui so choose wisely good option to built the correct overlay.
Theme is a mandatory multi cherry pick options to have all fully working and nice.
This theme has grown with user request so to satisfy all, everything needs to be choosen to have a correct result.

Hi background is overlay on android, 2nd choice. You can choose black
You need 2 reboots. One after build&update, one after activate overlay.

Ok thanks for feedback. I made this one quickly, will provide better update beginning of week. Just Seen that a lot of icons are not as expected.
Some are not centered on qs form.
Will also provide better guide.
For example its better to have a second accent contrasting with primary as these are mixed for example in volume panel.
If tint of text is shocking, better use white or black text depending on BG color of course.
