Its a old phone with a dying community but honestly cm11 would really improve this phone And yes its fully capable of running it smoothly, as the Samsung Galaxy Ace has very similar specs and right now it has fully stable builds So could anyone please spare some time on our device please

Hello, welcome to the forums.
Here are the cyanogenmod forums for your device, and here are the downloads for the mod for your device.
Finally, here are the instructions on how to install CM on your device.
Remember: always backup!
Edit: All I've posted are for CyanogenMod7. Your device is not officially supported by CyanogenMod9.
Here is an unofficial version of CM9 for your device, look it up before installing it however, since it is unofficial and thus it is not fully supported.
See forum for your device .
Or easily .
Get CWM , and download the ROM and flash it

[to devs] please port cm10 for s3!

Hi XDA community! I want to request someone for port the CM10 to HTC One S with S3 procesor. Can anyone do it? There is port for S4, but S3 users don't have custom ROM without HTC Sense . S3 is popular phone and i know there is many users of s3 who wanna have CM10 for theirs devices and we be very very grateful for developer.
Don't think there are any devs with the S3 variant so getting CM10 probably won't happen.

Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda app-developers app
CM10 is not a port, it is a built from source AOSP based ROM. You will need to find a person who will agree to be your device maintainer and create all of the S3 specific code which has not been released by HTC. In other words, sorry dude.

Vanir Rom for S3?

I did a quick search for this, but would anyone happen to know if someone is working / building port of the Vanir rom? I have it on my nexus devices and it is fast as hell...
Thanks!
No as the phone it is for has lower specs then the s3. As of now the following ROMs can be ported to the phone are s3 ROMs from other carriers and Note 2 ROMs. MIUI can also be ported to the phone. So far only one note 2 ROM has been ported to this device
If your looking for fast, try out the Hyperdrive ROM.

Wait, I'm confused. Vanir is an AOSP based Rom, so there shouldn't be that much other than adding in the stuff specific to the S3, right? The Vanir Rom (or at least what I know of it) is on the N7, N4 and the GNexus...
I guess I'm a bit confused.
Put it this way no one is planning to port it to the s3 if they were it would've been here by now.
Hm...I guess in that case: Do any of you guys know of any good guides for porting AOSP roms over? I tried following one way back when when I had a rezound and CM10 first came out but never got too deep in it. Figure it is worth a shot, I've got a Ubuntu VM waiting to go...
Before you do that you must seek the permission from the developers.
To port something over from github / source?
Now I'm officially confused.

How can I build a kernel for the Samsung Galaxy Victory

Hello,
So I am one of 4 or so devs to my phone. I'm a noob, so I know next to nothing about kernel building. The phone is currently on 4.1.2, but we want to put KitKat on it. It is definitely powerful enough. I am trying to port cm 11 from the s3 mini; which has nearly identical specs; with no avail. I need to build a new kernel, but how?
P.S. I have the virgin mobile version
Thanks a ton,
