Uh... maybe you had a bad download originally. I might try redownloading and then flashing again.
About the modems.. I dunno. It's been working great for me. But wifi won't give me data. But that's another issue.
That's what mine is doing. connects but no data.
wifi fix...maybe lol
to those with wifi connecting but not providing data/actually working just turn off your phone the normal way-hold down power button choose power off. then power it back on and wifi should work...at least it worked for me. let me know if it works for you
here are the steps in more detail:
1) connect to wifi network
2) turn off mobile data and try and use the internet-try multiple websites
*if you can not connect to any websites than continue to step 3, otherwise your wifi is working!
2b) turn mobile data back on-this is to avoid the problem i wrote about under the edit...i cant verify this way will still work.
3) turn off your phone
4) turn your phone back on
you phone should automatically reconnect to the wifi network, if not than connect to your wifi network and see if it works now.
***EDIT***
ok, i left to go pick up my sister from school and found out that my mobile data no longer worked, i just turned phone off and on and it worked again, i tried toggling packet data first. I am now home and wifi still works!
This looks great. However, I just am not into green. Do you know of any themes that may work here?
After reseting the phone about 10 times, i either have no wifi, or no data each time.

[If you are experiencing any issues after flashing try this]
Step back deep breath, regain your patience, and follow all the steps for a good clean FRESH START.
Seriously, get your phone to the most stable backup you have, then follow the simple steps in OP. Clean up the insides real good before placing this nice runner in. Then LET IT SETTLE.
Don't do anything until ALL the scans are complete, let it familiarize itself with native infuse guts again.
Treat this as more than just a port, this is a native infuse and a great solid ROM.
I'll post some tips here shortly, need to compile them.
Are the Infusion GB kernels compatible with this ROM?
Are the UCKK modems compatible with this ROM?
Tips
Okay I'm gonna try to remember all the tips and tricks I used and share them with you all. 1st off this Rom is awesome. If you're having problems it's most likely user error. Nice job Big Fau.
________________________________________________________________
Begin with file organization. You will need to download:
a) SU fix
b) your choice of modem
place them in a file on your sd card (NOT ext_sdcard)
________________________________________________________________
1) start out as clean as possible. Use one of your most stable backups you have. This gets your phone all ready and prepped for infusing a native ROM back on to your phone. Also there is Jordan's instructions for flashing if you want ( flashing tutorial )
2) Now further cleaning up using wiping methods (dalvik and data/factory) I can't emphasize this enough. Start with a fresh base. Once you feel confidently clean step 3.
3) Follow steps from OP:
_____________________________
Installation:
1. Place .zip onto internal SD card
2. Reboot into CWM
3. Wipe Dalivk Cache
4. Wipe Data\Factory Reset
5. Install from sd card, choose the zip
7. Reboot the phone after it's done Installing
_____________________________
4) Very Important! LET IT SETTLE. For real I think maybe it has something to do with the fact that it's a native Infuse ROM, idk but this one needs to sit before you even log in to Google. Let ALL the scans finish.
5) Now log into Google, ect. (choose not to use data packets though until you get the wifi up and running, saves you on data usage) Don't restore tibu yet,
boot back into red Recovery.
6) In recovery flash the superuser fix. reboot, let the scans run.
7) Open Market, download (if you don't already have it) "busybox"
install it and run it (install in xbin when asked) it should say successful when done.
8) In market go to superuser, update. Then open su and update the binary (at the bottom in preferences) run that binary update till you got all green.
9) Boot into Red Recovery.
10) Flash the modem of your choice. I personally am using the UCKK4 and it's working great. oh and make sure to turn data packets back on, if you turned them off. Now restore tibu.
Hope this helps some people to fully enjoy this ROM.
X.
Edit: you can flash the modem and su fix at the same time.

GPS Not Working
Hello and thank you in advance...
I followed the directions in the first post the best I can and I am not able to get the GPS working. I am pretty new to all this so the chances are I am making a pretty basic mistake. I am using TWRP. I have a backup of my original OS that I am using. I have cleared all memory (not the sdcard) and restored the original OS and the GPS works set in device only mode. For some reason I cannot get the FasterFix to work on that OS it just opens a black screen and makes the device run very slowly. I confirm that GPS is working by launching Google maps and Waze and all is well.
I then flash the ROM (which is FANTASTIC by the way) and confirm that the location is set for GPS only and then when I launch Maps and Waze, GPS doesn't get a fix. I can launch FasterFix, but it just lets me select a server then site there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
dp

I re-installed the GPE from Scratch after I turned the location setting to device only and voila.
Quick question about the heads up apk. Devices to opt out if that in the install process but is it the notifications popup thing similar to android L's? If so is it possible to sideload from the downloaded zip? I'm keywording for heads up don't see nothing though.
On another note I love this ROM to death, great work. I was hesitant to try goe but gosh darn it I fell back in love with stock android. Great job!

My HTC don't start
Hi, I have a big problem. First of all sorry for my english.
I downloaded the ROM and put it on my SD Card and installed it. But I have the screen with the bubbles animations who keeps playing and playing all and over again. and my HTC isn't running, i don't know what to do I've pressed the volume up button while holding in power and selected fast boot, factory reset , recovery mode etc.. each time takes me back to the same screen with the bubbles animation.
Please, HELP
My HTC ONE M8 don't start
Hello everyone, I have a problem.
I downloaded the ROM and put it on my SD Card then installed it. But after the installation, my HTC don't start I have the screen with the bubbles animation who keeps playing. I've pressed the volume up button while holding in power and selected fast boot, factory reset , recovery mode etc.. each time takes me back to the same HTC screen with the bubbles animation. I don't know what to do.
.wma and potentially .m4a playback
I was running the stock sense rom before switching to the gpe edition. While on the sense rom I was able to listen to .wma and .m4a files in Google play music (these files are local to my device, I'm not playing them through my Google play account). Now on the gpe rom I can't listen to .wma files. I'm unsure on .m4a.
Solutions online that I have found either mention using a different music app or adding your music to your Google play account and download them through the app that way.
I'd rather do neither. I would like to continue using the Google play app and don't want to add my songs to my account because I wish to maintain my songs manually on my phone. Does anyone know of any way to add the support to android or have a zip to flash to add it?
Install?
Phone: HTC One M8 (VERIZON)
Problem: Installing [ROM][10/30/14]4.4.4]Google Play Edition (As L as can be without the real thing)
But for the life of me don't understand these instructions. It's like a step is missing or something. Do I need another bootloader? How do I go from step 2 to 3? And step 3 to 4? I'm sorry for the newbie question. I tried searching "install" and "wipe" in this thread and was overwhelmed with other responses.
1. Download.
2. Put on SDCard.
3. Wipe Data if coming from different ROM.
4. Install.
5. Reboot.
6. ??
7. Profit.
Figure it out.
1. Install and run Sunshine.
2. Install TWRP
3. Boot TWRP and install zip from sdcard.
Thanks all.
I can't get into recovery mode cuz the bootanimation screen won't let me in
hi! I tried flashing this ROM but after flashing it with Xposed framework, it's on a bootloop. I tried getting into recovery but it won't let me in because it just restarts on the boot animation. What to do? Thanks!
Has anyone used the screen cast in the latest version of this rom? When I activate it my Chromecast isn't listed on the devices list.

Multirom + Skydragon's Lollipop Rom
Can I add Digitalhigh's Lollipop Rom as a Secondary ROM or do I need to flash is as the Primary ROM?
EDIT: I have seen 2 posts in the main Dev thread that they have added Skydragon as a secondary ROM but are having a couple issues. I will try again... The First time I tried it hung at the splash screen. I assumed boot loop so went and reinstalled using the "no wipe" option in aroma and still a no go. If someone has successfully added this as a Secondary ROM please chime in. Obviously I am only on my 3rd post here so can't post in main thread. Also I do have the 4.4.4 Firmware installed. Thanks
The google drive says that too many people have downloaded the file in the past 24 hours. Can anyone rehost the file?
Ok I have to download it on my computer for some reason my it won't let me visit the link on my phone. Thanks.

Updating firmware to 4.4.4 but still running 4.4.2 sense.
1.Would updating my phone with this process erase or delete anything in my phone?
2. Im running 4.4.2 sense in my phone, would I have any compatibility issues running this version of sense once I update everything to the 4.4.4 firmware, except for my rom?
1.Download this: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95747613655049353
2.Rename to 0P6BIMG.zip and put it on the root of your external SD
3.Reboot and run HBOOT, it will detect the zip and upgrade
4.After the install is finished, flash the lollipop rom, do not change any options
5.After the ROM has been flashed, make sure to rename the zip or remove it from your SD so that HBOOT does not attempt to upgrade after every reboot

Google Play Services?
Google play services are chewing through my phone's battery. Anyone else experienced this?
Loving this ROM but I'm having some problems with it. First, SU is having trouble sticking and is constantly asking for perms after I've granted it. Also, I still can't figure out how to get write permissions. I tried fix permissions in recovery (bootloop) and I tried doing some terminal emulator commands that was in the ROM thread but still nothing. Oh and when I try to download some apps from the Playstore, I get a 505 installation error. I did run a Titanium Backup restore.

Device isn't working properly after wiping...

So I have a problem with my Nexus 5. Yesterday I tried all kinds of different Lollipop roms and at the end of the day I sticked to Cataclysm. I liked it and my phone was all set up but I noticed there were a lot of unnecessary folders on my internal storage and a nested 0 folder (0 inside /0). I didn't like that so I thought about making a nandroid backup, storing it on my computer (together with my music etc.), wiping everything and restoring it by using TWRP and then eventually putting my music back.
So after I stored a backup on my computer, I started my device into recovery mode and chose the option 'advanced wipe'. Usually I would do a lot of research for everything I do but in this case I was a bit lazy to do that, I tried digging into the search results of Google concerning wiping but I gave up after some unsatisfying results. So I checked every box in the list, including data and system and went through with the wiping. So because my storage was completely wiped I didn't have a 'WRTP/BACKUPS' folder anymore. I made a backup from the stuff I had (which was only a few mb's) so I would have that folder again (otherwise I wouldn't be possible to locate my nandroid backup). I wanted to transfer my nandroid from my computer to my phone by connecting it through USB but for some reason the Nexus 5 didn't show up on my PC when it was booted in recovery (this sometimes happens for some reason)
I managed to do it by using 'adb push Cataclysm folder' in cmd. I went into recovery and restored my backup. My phone booted and I thought everything was as it should be. The wallpaper was black but that was logical because my internal storage was wiped, including my custom wallpaper. But then I noticed something strange, my status bar disappeared, sames goes for my navigation bar. I really have no idea what happened because I've restored nandroid backups before and everything went fine.
So then I put a clean version of Cataclysm on my phone and for some reason it asks me to insert a SIM-card into my device while it has one. I skipped that step and then it asked for my home Wi-Fi and I chose mine, then it checked the connection way longer than it would normally do. After I was done with all the steps my homepage entered my screen and guess what, my status bar and also my navigation bar were absent. It was like my cell phone was in immersive mode all the time. Then I tried flashing the KitKat factory image by going into recovery with my phone and opening 'flash-all.bat' on my PC but then it said '< waiting for devices >' while I enabled USB debugging... I opened cmd and typed 'adb decives' and mine showed up, so it was connected (although it now says 'unauthorized' when my phone is normally booted).
Then I flashed clean Cataclysm again and it again said I had to insert my SIM-card and it then again checked the connection with the Wi-Fi for a couple of minutes. When I was done with the installation I tried replacing the wallpaper with one from Lollipop but it didn't work although there was a preview available. There was again no status bar and navigation bar. I then opened chrome and went to this website and now I'm typing this on my Nexus 5 which has a permanent immersive mode now.
So I don't have much in my internal storage anymore, only a TWRP folder with backups, nothing more, not even a 0 folder if I'm not wrong. There's something wrong with my mobile connection and definitely something going on with my navigation bar and status bar. I hope anyone could help me with this because this is really frustrating becausr I tried to fix it for the last couple of hours, unfortunately without any result...
EDIT: I forgot to mention that when I was trying to figure out how to send the nandroid without being able to access my internal storage via my computer, I booted in recovery, went to 'advanced' and then to 'adb sideload' and tried that because I saw it somewhere on the internet. I somehow believe this contributed to the problem I have.
EDIT2: Now, when I try to power off my phone by holding the power button, it reboots the device instead, what's going on... And as I said, I have a black screen as wallpaper for some reason and I can't change this, but if I open my weather widget, the widget window shows up with my chosen wallpaper on the background, what kind of sorcery is this?
EDIT3: I wanted to download a terminal emulator from Google Play to do this but I couldn't get to 100% so I thought there was something wrong with the app on my device. I googled the apk and I wanted to download it from Zippyshare and when I clicked on the button 'download now', the phone showed the message 'no SD card', so I guess that's the culprit of all of this?
TL;DR My phone is acting really weird (no status or navigation bar, phone reboots instead of asking whether I want to have it shut down when I hold the power button, the wallpaper being strange, SIM-card isn't being recognised) after I wiped data and system and actually everything...
Reboot to bootmanager , flash a factory image , wipe , start over . Something must have gotten corrupted in your nandroid backup.
Regarding ADB not working , you also need to authorize the pc you are working from . You will get a prompt on your phone when connecting . If you dont , go to developer setting , wipe ADB credentials , reconnect the phone.
Also , adb push works fine for single files but it sometimes borks when you are pushing big/many files.
Edit : I hope you didn't wipe EFS as well ( though AFAIK TWRP doesn't wipe it on a advanced wipe) . If you did it's time to return it to stock and send it to LG/Google

Thank you for reading my huge explanation. After hours of searching and trying a lot of things with my device I figured out how to fix it. Do you remember I said that when I tried to flash the factory image with 'flash-all.bat' that it responded with '< waiting for devices >' ? Well, after reinstalling the drivers countless times and trying to find the culprit I realised I was trying to flash it with TWRP being open, and not the bootloader... So after I was aware of that I finally managed to put stock Lollipop on my phone, then I wiped everything and flashed Cataclysm. It felt pretty satisfying to have a working phone again, it's a pity I had to start from scratch but on the other side, I now how a phone without any rubbish.
Regarding adb push, if I would like to ever push a rom or a big file onto my phone in case I would ever have a similar annoyance, what do you recommend me to do it with?
And what is EFS exactly and what happens if I would ever wipe that? Thank in advance!
Regarding ADB push / twrp MTP mode you jst need to remember not to try and upload the entire content of a sdcard backup or > 3-4 gigs. Big files rarely missbehave , but I screwed up my SD permissions when trying to restore my sdcard ( thousands of files and about 14 gb total).
EFS is a secure partition that stores your GSM/network id and profile - IMEI and so on. AFAIK it's pretty hard to erase but it is possible if you play around with format/repartition commands. Just follow the guides and instructions on this forum and it should be fine.
Corrupted or erased EFS = no network connectivity besides WiFi . And since tampering with it is illegal in some countries the only way to fix it is by RMA/warranty.
I'm glad you've fixed it - I'm not surprised it was a simple mistake , I've been there myself ( tried for an hour to flash a factory image unsuccessfully only to realize I had my phone plugged in a USB3 socket ) .
Don't forget to make a nandroid now that you are set up with your fav. ROM - it will come in handy sometime.

Lenovo S856 stock rom and fix bootloop / stuck

Hi everyone,
I just want to share about this Lenovo S856 LTE rom. Yesterday, I have accidentally uninstall 1 system app which is I do not know if it will make this device bricked and it is IDEA.apk and some themes app. Before that, I have also root this device using kingroot and all work fine as it should. Spent all night trying to find best solution as the device won't booting and just stuck at bootanimation and ended with blackscreen. Since this is my first time using this model, I also don't know it's quiet complicated to flash new ROM with QPST softwares.
But thanks to whoever who compiled this Lenovo s856 rom into 1 flashable file ( QSB file ). It's huge than normal ROM I ever found, it was 1.5 GB and I did successfully recover my device after several attempt and findings.
Firstly, download ROM - I can't include ext links here as I'm still new , you can find the rom Lenovo_S856_ROW_S138_141113 from google drive. Using IDM would be great to download this 1.1GB zip file.
2. Enter recovery mode by pressing Vol + and Vol - together and press Power button and reset device to its factory. ( format data/cache)
3. Reboot again and now enter Service Mode by pressing Vol - and Power button. There is 13 options available and selecting them using volume button and power button is for OK.
4. Choose number 5 ( factory reset ) and number 6 ( erase user data ) this is necessary as I tried once skipping this option and device keep rebooting non stop. I'm not sure what makes it rebooting and rebooting. maybe caches or dalvik not wiped completely using recovery wipe method.
5. Choose number 8, ( backup MRD data ) and next number 10 ( Save Parameter ) to backing up modem files into your external SD card.
[Edit] 6. Once you got your download file ready, extract it into your PC or directly to your sdcard ( external sd ).
7. Create a 'new folder' in sdcard and rename it to 'sdfuse' and copy .qsb ROM file you extracted earlier into sdfuse folder. So the path will be /sdcard1/sdfuse/romfile.qsb
And now, reboot into service mode. Now choose number 4 ( SD update ) and let's it do it work, flashing will take about 5 minutes.
and REBOOT!
Now, let see if you're having any issue e.g stuck at boot, please repeat the process once again and I'm sure it will fix.

Low ram issue on my s856
Hi mate thanks for the info, i have td-lte model i think is cn set. I have problem with low ram issue, my free ram always below 300mb which causing game auto quit eg. Coc, boombeach. It started auto quit when free ram reach below 150mb. Need restart phone to restore free ram above 300mb then can run game but after a few play the game auto quit again, also having problem keyboard not display in game due to low ram. I find out that the vibe ui is consume alot of ram than non vibe, example open setting it consume about 66mb of ram, with non vibe from lenovo a536 just used 23mb of ram. Now im root and disable unimportant system app to free up more 300mb ram just to get some game run. When compare mine s856 without app running with a536, mine will get average 350mb(heavily system app disable)free ram but a536 without app easily get 550mb free ram. Any solution? Or how to downgrade to non vibe.

Need for MRD and Parameters data backup.
Unfortunately, restoring modem configuration (11 . Load Parameter) doesn't work for ROW firmwares installed on Chinese models.
Regards,
Luigi
Hello RidzVarn, unfortunately I read your post too late... :'(
I also flashed Lenovo_S856_ROW_S138_141113 because the stock ROM was the Chinese one. While the OS is far more stable and polished now, 3G/LTE functionality now is gone... GSM radio signal is also less stable than before.
I'm desperately trying to find the original Chinese stock ROM so as to backup MRD and Parameters but... no way, only ROW firmwares out there.
I'm wondering whether your phone is the same Chinese LTE version (MSM8926 CPU, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB ROM) of mine and, if you saved those MRD and Parameters data, you want/can share them with me in order to allow me to bring 3G/LTE functionalities back.
Thank you in advance,
Luigi

Hi Luigi,
Apparently, I'm not very sure if my S856 is China Set or not ( but well.. specs are same with yours though ). You can try to restore this MRD and Parameters backup files onto your phone.
Backup your own modem files first and copy paste them into separate folder ( e.g : 'sdfuse-backup' ) in case something going wrong.
Download here ( Google Drive )
Good Luck

Hi RidzVarn,
sorry for the late reply. Actually I managed to take those files out from a stock Chinese ROM, but simply saving/restoring them through the Service Menu doesn't do the job. I guess there are other file and settings in /system and/or in other partitions that are needed in order to make modem working.
In the end, I just reflashed a Chinese ROM flashing also GApps and SuperSU through TWRP, and I'm fine with the result.
I'd like to thank you, however, for your efforts to help me in sorting the issue out -- it was very kind of you.
Best wishes,
Luigi

Please try to:
pull the battery out;
wait 20-30 seconds;
plug the battery in;
plug the USB cable to the PC end only;
and keeping pressed Volume-Down...;
... plug also the microUSB connector to the phone;
release the Volume Down after 3-5 seconds;
check via Device Manager if a 'Bulk' interface has been detected.
If not, retry the same procedure but keep pressing the Volume-Up, this time.
If the Bulk interface got detected by Windows, use the MiFlash tool to flash your favourite firmware again.
Remember to disable the Windows' 'Driver Signature Enforcement' at the boot-up, and disable also any Host-IPS and Antivirus running on your machine.
Hope this can help.

Hi dxshah,
Weeww.. That's quiet buthurted. You can try to fix it using MiFlash tools as said by Luigi.
Always take a pre-caution step before flashing/updating ROM. Make sure your battery is at 80% and above or just plug in the charger while doing live update.[emoji1]
Thanks Luigi for your post, I didn't know and haven't discover that steps yet. Will try to find out more about MiFlash tools[emoji106] [emoji1]

You can find the download link to MiFlash (look at the bottom of the page) and a bunch of other useful information (well, the post is quite lengthy) here:

This is an alternative, direct link to the MiFlash tool:

Awesome story of him on rescueing dead droid. [emoji12]
Although, I've no longer using S856, this is still useful for my next Qualcomm device, maybe..lol [emoji16] Thanks again for sharing!

Got an Error when i tried
Thanks friend for the explanation. I did all you listed above, but when I tried to update from my sd card I get an error
ERROR: product is...
I have tried with all 3 stock rom firmwares .qsb I have found but still same error.
What could be the cause? And possible solution
Thanks

Did you flash a custom recovery (e.g. TWRP)?
If so, restore the stock recovery first, and then try again.
Cheers,
Luigi

Hi Pjajiro,
Where did u put that .qsb file? Actually, you have to create a 'new folder' in your sdcard root and rename it to 'sdfuse' and put the ROM qsb file in it. And try again. [emoji1]
My apologies, I have forgot to include that step in this thread, and will edit the line asap.
If you still get the same error, then it might be caused from ROM itself. Maybe its not for your device.
