now i know this question has been asked alot already as i have searched the forums, but as of to date all the links to the .pit file for GT-P7510 are dead. i have the tar file needed and i have odin v3.09 but i can not find the pit file P7500_P7510_android_fastboot_emmc_full_p4_16G_32G. pit anywhere. if someone could provide a direct link to the download itself, or a thread with an actual working link as of today i would greatly appreciate it. thank you

I'm trying to use full odin(1.7) to go back to stock an at&t captivate. I've used odin one click before without a problem, but i would like to do this with the full version of odin. I watched the tutorial video from the stickies in this forum.
I downloaded an odin+pit file I found here on xda. odin recognizes my phone, but when i go to pit I have three pit file choices(S1_odin_20100512.pit, S1_odin_20100513.pit, S1_odin_20100512.pit) and no matter which one I click, I cant find a rar file when I click pda.
I've now downloaded a couple of different rar files: I897UCJH7.rar, and I897UCJH2.rar
I dont know which one to use, or even if I'm choosing the right pit file.
the pit actually has no bearing on what file you are selecting in the pda section. unRAR the JH7 one and i bet there is a .tar file in there. thats what you need. the .tar

I don't use full odin very often but what I remember is use pit 512 in the pit box. The rar needs to be extracted and the extracted file will be a tar. That is what you would put in the pda box. And I have only used Odin 1.3. I have not heard of 1.7.

the 512 is the pit file you want. it has no bearing on the .tar file that you need.
Thanks for the help.I'll try that in the morning

These 2 XDA threads offer information on PIT files:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=816449
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=999097
Basically, I'd only ever use a PIT file if Odin threw up an error relating to it, 99% of the time these are not needed when using Odin unless you've screwed up your devices partitions.
It's handy to have this file saved as a backup though just in case that ever happened
okey i got it now, thanks it's really hepful :good::good::good:
invalid pit for t310

How, a little more information would be nice?
What model did you use it on; T310, T311 or T315?
What options did you tick in ODIN?
I compared the same PIT file to one extracted with heimdall on my T310, all entries/contents were the same, it came from a T311 firmware package but T310 firmware packages also have the same file. T315 uses a different named PIT file hence why I was uncertain.
Just now I've even compared it to another PIT file off the SamMobile forums that a Moderator posted for the T310, everything is the same, ODIN will reject it if it isn't signed as well.

I didn't force you to use the file, nor was this a guide in anyway, your device must have been in a bad way for you to consider using it.
In any case I've now removed the file.
Since, it's quite hard to find out some PIT files, I decided to upload the one I found for P905M.
If you own a different model and would like to collaborate to create a PIT repository, feel free to upload and share your PIT file here.
Thanks in advance
