[Q] Android 5 Hide root? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I got very used to using Cyanogenmod on my N5 before lollipop arrived, but I have now moved to a completly stock (unrooted) N5. I have to use a particular app (its from Three UK which allows me to get phonecalls/txts over wifi broadband) which has a root detection inbuilt. I did have xposed root cloak which worked well, but as xposed is not on lollipop I cant use it.
Is there a way of cloaking root on lollipop that works? I miss having a rooted device so much! Its so very very slow at the moment. I am very tempted at getting kitkat reinstalled, but I will miss some features of lollipop.
Thanks guys.

Just tried cydia, but that doesn't seem to work on lollipop.

How far can I get without root on my phone?

Specifically I want to know how much I can do to my phone by rooting it and then unrooting it. My job has a BYOP (bring your own phone) program for company phones, the restrictions being:
1. It can't be rooted
2. I have to install Airwatch on the phone to use it with work
I was thinking about picking up a phone (16GB Nexus 4 maybe?) and doing the following:
Root
Swap out the ROM (AOKP)
Install XPosed
Install XPrivacy and a few other XPosed modules
Unroot
This should work fine, right? It's my understanding that you just need root to install XPosed, but once you've done that you can remove root and still install modules. Anything I'm possibly missing out on?

How to Hide root on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop

I was able to successfully hide root on Android KitKat using the method found here: http://goo.gl/hpejaZ
But since updating to Lollipop I am unable to use the same method. I am trying to use my Telus Optik on the Go app which allows me to watch my tv on the road but it will not work on rooted devices.
Any help would be appreciated, and a $20 Amazon Gift Card donation will be given to the person with the solution
Unfortunately, it's not possible on android 5.0 (yet).
I'm really hoping this will be possible in the future, or that some magician here finds a solution .
The only thing you can do now is to temporarily unroot in the superSU app (but that's very annoying and I don't use it)

Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 - Android 5.0.2

Hello,
I recently got the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 running Android 5.0.2 which is a phone based off the ZTE Blade S6 Lux which is known for having a secure boot loader. Anyway, I have been trying to root it for quite a while.
I managed to root it using Kingroot but it only lasts till a phone restart so it is a temporary root. I have tried the PC version and 3 different versions of Kingroot APK with no permanent root. I even tried replacing Kingroot with SuperSU but that's not working at all as it breaks the temp root. I have tried a few other tools to try root such as kingoroot but they didn't work at all. I really need a root because I want to make a Tasker profile that puts airplane mode on when a NFC tag is scanned and lots of other things, but that's irrelevant.
I don't want to flash a custom ROM as I feel very unconformable with that.
If anyone knows how to make the root stay or any other method on rooting please reply to this thread.
Thanks,
Zacy5000.
Ok, I was thinking perhaps with the temp root I could put some files in the phone which is a different root to make the root stay but I wouldn't know how to go about doing that (if that makes sense).

Ant+ in marshmallow

I have been using ant+ enabler on my nexus 5. This requires root to activate but can be unrooted afterwards to enable thiings like banking apps to be used.
After updating to marshmallow I was hoping that ant+ would be enabled natively but no joy.
I have previously used NRT ro flash, root, unroot but this isn't available yet.
Does anyone know another way to activate Ant+ apart from OTG and dongle and is there a reason Ant+ still isn't actuated in the stock ROM.
did ant+ enabler work for you after upgrading to marshmallow? i've recently flashed the unofficial CM13 build (http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/development/rom-cyanogenmod-13-nexus-5-t3241046) but am running into issues with it actually working. i see reviews mentioning marshmallow + nexus 5 compatibility so i'm trying to figure out whether it's just the CM13 build i'm running or...well, yea. that. haha.
