Hello All!
I've got some questions about smartphones purchased in China that I thought you guys might be able to help me with.
I'll be looking to upgrade my current device with a Chinese phone, and I am aware that devices there will not have Google Services like the Play Store.
I know from reading some threads here that it is possible to get Google Services on a Chinese device by rooting the device. What I'm wondering is that if it is possible to do so on ALL devices. Also, I was wondering if by rooting a device, this would instantly enable me to install Google Services, or if more actions would be required before I am able to install Google Services (like unlocking the bootloader?)
Thanks for your help in advance!

Hello everybody,
I am opening here a talk that concern people that cannot have access to a full version of google play or all other google services.
I wanted to talk about this, because since this morning and my update to android 4.4, i have notice that i cannot have anymore access to google now because of a region restriction. I have been an android user for a longtime and i have suffered of the lack of apps in my country google play since day one. But i was always finding a warkaround (via VPN's or third-party Marketplaces), that was doing the job, but still a warkaround. Now i don't want that anymore, and i know that there's a lot of people that are in my case. So i wanted to discuss about this and maybe, who knows make enough noise, so google can hear us and find a definitive worktrough.
Hi, I'm in China and just bought a plan with this smart phone. I would like to root it so I can get Google play services working,
I know this is not a very common phone. Does anyone know where I can find information on rooting it or at least getting Google Play services to work?
there is a problem in my tablet [connect v3, HCL ] and i am really worried about it ! google play service app was not installed when i bought it but later i installed it from its own store as the device didnt have google play store and yet it didnt work!!! as alot of apps require google play service to run smoothly , i am having problem to run many apps like youtube , gmail and many others !
Is there any solution to my problem . plz help!!!
Well you have a couple options. You can either return the device and buy something different, or you can register and ask your question here
You may not get a lot of help as that is not a common device. Support for random/odd ball devices is not great out here.
good luck
Your Device is not Authorized by Google for the Play Store. Hence the issue. Please see [Q] How to install Play Store on HCL ME Connect V3(Rooted)? for details.
You may post on that thread if you have further questions.
Hi fellows,
recently I've got a chinese P30 ELE-AL00 as a present. I spent a lot of time trying to enable the google services, installing varios APKs like Google Services Framework, Google Play Services, Google Play, Contact sync, ... and even though everything is installed and all permissions are given, things are still not fully working. E.g. I cannot get Family link to work, as the device is intended to be used by my kid.
It appears that Huawei has somehow locked/crippled the Android on the ELE-AL00 version to prevent re-googl'ification. Since there is currently no way to unlock the boot loader I wonder if its possible to flash an international firmware, such as ELE-L29/ELE-L09 or ELE-L04 where re-googl'ification is supposed to work. The device is currently on EMUI 10.1 . Has anyone ever tried this?
Alternatively, is there any documented way to fully re-googl'ify a P30 ELE-AL00?
Thanks,
cr1spie.

I am using same version as yours with Google play services pre-installed.
Unfortunately I also asked many devs about installing global variant but the answer is No and the device will be bricked.
Huawei p30 doesn't allow me to access Google assistant instead of Hivoice as default and can't install any third party Launchers due to Chinese variant restrictions.
I am using this device with a few compromises and I am happy with it. [emoji4]

Hi there,
as I said in the title, I'm new on this field.
My aim is to the right choice of the phone and degoogle it. I tied to find somebody, who could do it for me (I live in the UK), but it's not so easy.
So now I've been trying to get familiar with the procedures, but I have to say, it's not easy process. There is so many 3, 4-letter acronyms, so many procedures to follow to be successful with degoogling a device. Moreover, there is so many information on this forum. All of these make me totally overwhelmed.
So, the main question, how to start this adventure? Is there a manual, tutorial (can be here, on youtube, does not matter) dedicated for beginners? Something which will make me confident enough to start degoogle a phone on my own?
Many thanks for suggestion.
If I'm right then de-googling means to remove all apps / services developed and copyrighted / owned by Google such as Google Services Framework, Google Play services ( incl. Google Play Store), GMS, Youtube, etc.pp, as also your Google account, from Android OS.
De-googling is possible, but requires Android OS is got rooted. And: it may not be recommended, because then many apps no longer will work.

By de-googling I mean installing for example (this is my aim) LineageOS. And instead google app store using F-droid.
Hint: Change this thread's absolutely errleading title to How to install Lineage OS
