Hello,
Would this MHL 3.0 cable work with my Z3? Also would it work with an older TV (is it backwards compatible)?

I'd imagine it's backward compatible.
Has anyone tried this?
I'm interested if it would work with my Xperia Z2.
This is the one I use and its amazing better colour then my other mhl

I bought the official Sony MHL 2.0 cable and it doesn't work that well. I've tried it on my monitor and on my TV, and the framerate really sucks. I think it might have to do with my displays, not with the cable itself.
Get the fosom one works flawless I use it to play remote play psx and video watched first season of vikings works awesome

Do you mind sharing which television/monitor you're using? And which ones you've tried it out on?
The TV is a Samsung 55" 3d plasma and its worked on a viewsonic 37" AMD my lg 22" PC monitor

I just got my hdmi cable in and wanted to show you how Gun Bros looks on the tv. Everything on the screen works on the television (games, movies on sdcard, streaming movies. video chat, texting, everything) Freakin sweet I will make a more detailed vid later when I have more time.

That's pretty sick, I've had my HDMI cable for over a week and had not thought of playing video games. i have only used it to show video's and pictures, gee i guess that's what happens when you have a newborn, you start to loose some of your other man senses!!
I cant wait for my Bluetooth controller to get here. netflix and gaming via HDMI were the biggest selling points of the phone after the Tegra 2. old game emulation is awesome on this thing.
I actually also forgot my 25" PC monitor also has an HDMI input. now i just leave a cable behind it, connect and switch the input when i want to game real quick. this way I am in a seat and at a comfortable distance untill the controller gets here
Yeah I was wondering about the bluetooth controller. just like the hd2 I had and sold with the ps3 controller. I should have kept the controller. Lol

PS3 controllers are working on android now? I remember reading a thread where someone tired but didnt know it worked. link?
as far as me I went with the Datel retro. its like the Wii classic controller but the bluetooth is built in so you dont need the official nunchuck to plug into.

So the datel works just fine with the g2x? Wasnt there bluetooth compatibility issues with the g2x and wii controllers?

Doesnt work with a stock phone until someone does some work with either drivers or bluetooth stack. I really know nothing about that side of things.
I have read that it works fine on CM7 builds

why would you need that when it charges via micro USB? most TVs Ive seen have USB, the few that do not can use USB on the cable box,sat box, tivo, stereo or game console
That's nice, but I really like your pond and waterfall! What liner are you using?

Uhh...so u dont have two plugs sticking out at either ends kf the phone while youre playing games on it?
Oh. for some reason i was thinking you were using a remote gamepad. IMO the USB doesn't bother me or get in the way as much as the HDMI on the left ( when using both cables )
That looks nice on your TV. I just wish my G2x would output to my TV correctly. When i'm playing nova the edges are cut off and i am unable to play it correctly. I am thinking its my TV but it doesn't make sense.
under settings is HDMI output correctly set or at least on auto detect?

It's most likely a TV issue, I had to change the view setting on my Sony Bravia TV.

Its set for auto detect my TV is 720P with a native resolution of 1366x768. I have been unable to figure out why my tv does not display the G2x's hdmi correctly
Where did you get the cable from?
that's freakin awesome!! time to get an HDMI cable.

I was wondering if you have a video on your note, can you connect the note to a television to watch?
Rooted EVO baby

Same HDMI on Amazon for $27. Sorry don't have the link.

if said projector has an HDMI input (and you have the above mentioned adapter), I don't see why not.

Yes I know if the projector has an HDMI input it will be like attaching to HD TV, but Iam asking about how to connect to a projector with VGA port
get a vga to hdmi converter
One point to Note: You do need to connect the charger for the HDMI to work which can be a bummer
the whole GALAXY to NOTE about...counting down from 10 to 1.

So I get this right, the HDMI adapter needs to be powered externally for it to work?

I haven't tried it but maybe a pricey but elegant solution could be using the Samsung AllShare Cast Wireless Hub (info is here).
No cables at all!
To use a VGA projector you'd again need an HDMI to VGA connector. But this time it would be attached to the hub, that is powered by itself by its cable.
This answer my original ancient question: "Is it possible to send the display signal to a projector through wifi?". And the answer is (apparently): "YES!"
I've seen a video where the hub was used to send to a TV set the images of a race game, while playing with it. No evident lag at all.
I wonder if there could be a similar device made by some third party (-> less expensive).

Here is the solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32039367&postcount=8, awesome, I really enjoy it to present wireless.
Just recently I had the projector with VGA cable but discovered that the projector had the second, HDMI port, so I quickly connected the AllShare cast dongle to HDMI and the projected screen quality was even better.

I just got my Allsharecast dongle in the mail today, and I must say LAG is this things middle name!
If you play any fast paced game it will either lag or become blurry to give smoother playback, Im not too happy this thing costed me $100, fedels like it should have costed $40
hi,
I recently rooted my OneXL and have CM10 running on it. I want to now get in on the mobile gaming scene - there are several cool games on Google Play (e.g. here), but I'm only interested in games that I can play on my HDTV using, say, a 10 feet HDMI cable and a MHL .
Does anyone have a setup like this ? I'm particularly concerned about the length of the cable before I lose signal and the type of MHL adapter (especially if it needs to be powered).
Secondly - how can I identify games that lend itself to hdtv gaming on the OneX ? I didnt find any info like that on XDA
Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone has tried this out yet? Does it work? Can you stream the gameplay to a TV/monitor via an MHL adapter and HDMI cable? I'm thinking about getting a MHL 3.0 cable but not sure whether it will work or not.
Ok, so I borrowed my friend's MHL old generation (for S2) adapter, and that didn't work. First of all the frame rate is very VERY poor, between 5-10 fps. And second it disconnects as soon as I start remote play. Can anyone with an MHL 3.0 adapter try and see if you can get the remote play screen on the TV?
Hi,
I have a Z3C. I tried remote play using an mhl cable that I had from my galaxy S2.
Works fine! There is a noticeable drop in frame rate compared to the PS4 direct output but not too bad at all.
I seem to be getting interference when I pair the ds4 to the phone though and the controls get laggy.
Is that an MHL 3.0 cable?
Anyone with a regular Z3 and 1080p display that can try this out? Don't wanna throw away 40$ on a cable I wont use if it doesnt work

I can't test it.
I have test it with chromecast. It's running okay, but not perfectly (the delay not small enough for me).

Nope, just a 5 quid eBay cable I bought about 2 years ago.
+1 i'd like to know if this works
I was thinking of getting this one http://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/televisions-cables/mhl-cable
But I guess I should wait for somebody who's already tested to confirm it works.
I had a dodgy 2 pound version which disconnetted my wifi everytime i connected . This is why i suggest an original.
Works great
all i can say is, i bought the IM750 cable, and it sucks big time. Wont even get 1080p on the screen. Dont get it.
Do you mind sharing your setup? Which TV/MHL cable did you use?

Ive tested it on dead trigger 2, gt racing 2 and n.o.v.a 3 its awesome im using the dualshock 4 cuz i have stryflex's awesome custom rom (my phone looks exacrly like the damned z5 with all abilities especialy walkman tnx stryflex again)
So what are you waiting for go buy that cable but 40$ is so much
Hi all,
First thread I have ever started on xda,
Used the site for years to help with rooting various phones and tablets,
Anyway I wondered if anyone has tried a MHL Adapter for the Z5 yet?
Know of one that works?
Thanks
I used the Sony mhl cable and it worked only issue was that I could see half the navigation bar but that was on an old tele at my friends since I have chromecast I don't have much use for it at home

Thanks,
I do have chromecast myself, great little device,
I tried streaming the vice city game to my TV, through chromecast it was laggy
In parts, I have 50mb fibre optic so thought it would be OK,
Basically I'm hoping using MHL will remove all lag and I can also
Use my phone as abit of a gaming device to TV,
I work away alot as well so MHL would be good for hotels,
I'm in no rush for one at the moment, searching Google doesnt really give alot of results right now, nice to know your old adapter works though
Well 50mb fibre doesn't buff you're WiFi. Minimum standard today should be 54MBit (as far as coverage is concerned), so it's (in simple) faster than your isp.
Z5 and chromecast support ac standard wich results in a theoretically 1300MBit throughput. Wich should be more than enough to deliver full HD material lagfree if properly compressed.
I'll bet that your problem isn't your isp (50MBit fibre has got nothing to do with chromecast) it's more likely your WiFi
Either it's bad designed or, more likely, one of your components is too old.
It'd check the supported WiFi standards of your router first.
To your initial question: I'm using the genuine Sony mhl im750 and up until now I didn't have any problems with it.
I've used it to play all kinds of emulators on my Z1 paired with a ps3 ds controller on a big screen. To bad the ds3 got dropped. I don't have a ps4 yet
My fibre optic was installed a few years back, new router from Virgin and stuff, films stream OK,
I only tried it the once so will give it another go,
I was looking at the mhl adapters on eBay and Amazon,
Anything I should look out for in particular?
Avoid cheaper versions and go Sony?
I have a ps3 and 4, would rather of attached a ps3 controller as I use my ps4 pads for the ps4 quite alot,
Probably have to root to get ps3 controller support again with six axis app
I use a Sony MHL adapter, haven't tried it on my Z5. Worked great on my Z1. I could even use a capture card to record it and use a Dualshock 3 controller. https://youtu.be/RekbQdR7_8s

I tried the sony IM750 MHL to HDMI adapter on Lineage 14.1 from the forums:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/orig-development/cm-14-1-lineageos-t3536846
That doesn't work, it causes the phone to reboot. I haven't tried ohter MHL to HDMI adapters and I haven't tried this adapter on stock rom either.
