Hi everyone,
I don't see the SM-915FY anywhere. It is the model sold in France. If I buy it, do you think I will be able to get root and custom flashing ? No root is a complete deal breaker for me =(

Same thing here, I bought mine in Germany. I've been searching for hour and hours but nothing. I think that's because this model is in some minor percentage of production just for specified areas. But maybe we'll get lucky next year

I thought that the model U8825D was the dual sim and our model was the mono sim.Maybe I'm wrong.

That's true but that is just what I've said...since now, I think that mono sim model (U8825-1) is just for some european markets like Germany, Italy, UK France. Here in Croatia we don't even have it in the stores. But elswhere (China, Taiwan, and similar countries) there's just dual sim model on offer. So we'll see in the future, but I don't have any high hopes about unlocking the bootloader and finally, rooting

Download directly from your phone, go in system settings/about phone/online update. If you don't find anything maybe is because your phone is already updated. You should have B942 in the build number.
So, any hope now to see the root thanks to this update?

My phone, a U8825-1 bought in Germany, has the a b939 in the build number and the updater tells me that no updates are found :/ Oh well.
BTW, this is really a nice phone! Like everything from the handsome design to the good camera. I'm blown away for what I got for the price. I really hope some of the grand modders fall in love with it as I have, so we will see some good hacks and mods

I think you can. you can get OTA updates. but maybe after OTA update you lose root, or maybe not.
but if you install custom rom I think you can't
but that's ok too. you can get the latest original firmware from sammobile . com and flash it then you have the latest stock rom and it can get ota updates
I don't think OTA updates are related to KNOX. so don't worry
and no you can't reset knox. but developers are working on it.
thanks i think i have got my answer after reading some posts in other froums and you are right i always can download the new version from samsung :highfive:
i want to root my n9005 ,
did heared anythings about KNOX ? is that important in iran to reset knox ?
cause there is just one way the reset knox counter after rooting your phone and the way is : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498850 De La Vega ! @Peyman92 , i think u can't use OTA anymore and you have to flash the new update by odin " from now on " !
is there anybody here that has been checked the de la vega before ?
sorry , i don't know why my post inserting double !!

If your device has warranty then maybe they check knox.
I got my phone from digikala and it had only 7 days warranty, So I kept it stock first week and then rooted it.
if your device doesn't have warranty so just flash and have fun.
and for ota, I unlocked my galaxy nexus before, but then I flashed google factory image and it got ota updates even it was unlocked.
So it's the same, doesn't matter if you tripped knox or not, once you flash stock image with odin, then after that you can get ota.
knox is there to know if you have flashed a custom thing or not.

I don't think it's a sim problem. Have you tried other sim?
It looks like a bad flash or sth. If you're on custom rom, reflash it using full wipe. Don't forget to update baseband and bootloader to kk too.
If you're on stock, just do a factory reset.

thank u mate
i tried all the way , wipe , factory reset , clean install... but the porblem still persist on both custom and official rom 4.4.2 with NA6 baseband.
i searched on google and have found same problem for other guys on htc , LG ...
i have to wait for UAE official 4.4.2 or another country with the same baseband , like " Nordic countries "
i don't have any extra micro sim by my own right now so i decided to ask this question
anyway , kheili mamnoon babate rahnamaeir dooste man

Hi there i was wondering about the same thing as the OP - i'd appreciate a PM as much as an open answer.
(So far my idea was to get the update dowloaded by my P905 and then use MobileOdin, BUT the application complains that it doesn't recognize my device..

I don't understand what OP stands for. Should you need the procedure to root the new firmware with standard Odin I reported it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56416373&postcount=20
Should you need the required tar.md5 files, I don't know how many posts I need prior to be able to attach them to the forum, but I can attach them to a mail, if you PM me one. In any case countercheck that the both images I supply are compatible with your old and, most important, your new firmware, otherwise prepare them yourself from your firmware files with the script I mentioned in that trhread, it's pretty easy.
Thanks aviator1 for
- the advice - i will probably do it that way. I already thought about using towelroot (again ), but since i haven't tripped KNOX (yet) i'll take the time to read the changelog.
- pointing me to the direction of that other thread!
OP stands for OriginalPoster - the person who started the corresponding thread, recogniseable by the yellow underneath the users Status - in our case "Junior Member" - and the black "OP" on yellow ground to its right.
As far as i remeber it took 10 posts (not sure about that though, since i read that stuff when i registered).

Hello everybody!!! I own a Coolpad 5380CA smartphone bought in China and I was thinking to root it because it was built in 2017 and it has Android 6.0.1 without any update until now. My goal is to root it and install a custom rom after that to upgrade its android. That's the good part. The bad one is because my model is only for China (it has chinese and english as main languages) I haven't found a custom rom to install on it, because all the big ROMs don't support the model (it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 proccessor) and maybe I can damage the phone if I install a wrong ROM and I don't wanna lose it because it's a good cheap phone (3Gb RAM and 16GB internal, metal body case, fingerprint, etc)
So, my question here is, Is it worth to root the smartphone? If so, what method could be the best? (thinking to use Kingo Root app).
Anyone know a Custom ROM I can install in this smartphone?
Thanks to everybody and excuse my english
