Hi there!
Is there any fancy way to get the sim card out? I have tried the usual push-and-pop-out method but it seems I am doing wrong.
Thanks in advance!
You need long nails ?
Edit #was talking about the sd card.
Sent from my SHIELD Tablet using XDA Free mobile app
It needs to be gently pushed in, there will be a click and it will come out. You can use an object that fits in the slot area with a blunt edge. I used a micro sd to sd card adapter. Also make sure the slot cover is twisted 180 so it is out of the way of the sim card.

I've been researching this issue and have found a lot of threads about bad/corrupted SD cards randomly unmounting themselves. But the issue my phone seems to have is that the SD card isn't securely seated, and I haven't found much, if any, info on how to fix it.
Basically, my SD card unmounts if I bump my phone the wrong way. More often than not, it happens when I'm putting the battery cover back on. I did some fiddling with it, and once the card is inserted, if I gently pull on the card towards the edge of the phone, it unmounts. If I gently push it back towards the center of the phone, it remounts. I don't think it's an issue with my particular card (SanDisk 32GB Class 4) b/c I've tried two other cards (another SanDisk and an Kingston) and they all do the same thing.
I've tried pushing down on the card slot a bit to try and tighten up the metal sleeve that the card fits into with no luck. I've also tried putting a small piece of tape on top of the card to make it seat more firmly. Neither approach works. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I just got the phone recently and have been very happy with it (MUCH better than my old Droid RAZR). But I take a lot of pictures w/ my phone, so having a sketchy SD card is driving me nuts!

Sounds like a hardware problem to me.. If i was in the position i would just get a replacement fone
On my tf300t the sd card slot will no longer hold the sd card in, when you push sd card into the sd card slot there is no "click" followed by the sd card being locked into place, spring seems to work ok as I can shoot the sd card across the room lol. If I hold the sd card in place it will mount ok.
Does anyone know can the entire sd slot be replaced ? Is it a modular thing or solder into the a board ?
If it is replaceable where can I order the replacement part (aside from asus assuming they sell replacement parts) ?
The tablet is about 1.5 years old, sd card slot should last longer very disappointed in quality of tf300t.
Thanks in advance,
Tony

Thanks for the link, I took a look at the Step 2 photo, and it appears the sd card slot is attached to board, and that board can be removed and replaced, appears to be several ribbon connectors.
Now just have to figure out where to get the part.
Thanks

The slot is soldered onto the daughter card which also controls the touchscreen. It can be removed and replaced, but some skills are required. Otherwise, just buy a used one off ebay. Turn the service switch off, or disconnect the battery BEFORE touching anything inside the tab. Otherwise, you risk frying components. After replacing the daughter card, you might have to reflash the firmware to make it work with your current digitizer. Be patient when working on it.
Anyone know of any fixes for this?
Inserted the SD card (tried 2, one san disk & one samsung) but it isn't detecting them at all, I put the card back into my Z3 and it works perfectly, i've even tried sticking some paper under the card in the tray to prop it up a bit because the sim card looked a little higher in the tray but nothing
Card facing the right way vertically and horizontally?
Yeah theres only 1 way it'll go into the tray, Got a new one coming tomorrow anyways, hopefully that will work properly lol

format SD-Card with Ubuntu
and then reformat it to FAT32 on Windows

Was a dodgy phone, not the card, thanks though
Hi, I just purchased a Galaxy S7 SM-G930FD and wanted to do the 2 sim and 1 SD card mod so that I could have both my lines plus SD card however the mod got stuck in my tray, I damaged the micro SD card and Sim card and I had to push the eject tool so hard that it damaged the ejection mechanism! Now the tray won´t go all the way in! What´s the replacement part that I need to order and where can I buy it?
Thanks!

Hi
Check in Ebay they have them OEM or generic
Thanks, What should I look for?
Hi! Thanks! The thing is I don´t what to look for. I´ve searched for the motherboard but that doesn´t have the card slot, neither does the front or back chasis. I would prefer to buy a piece that includes the card slot so I won´t have to solder anything.

Hi Max 404, Thanks! but the tray is in perfect condition, what I ruined and need to replace is the slot where the tray goes, would you happen to know which part of the phone comes with the card reader slot? I´ve found the reader itself but I have very little experience soldering.
Thanks a bunch

Mate
That is going to be very expensive , is the mainboard and lots of disassembly...not easy at all
Check here (step 11)
Here part number , plus no IMEI you have to get someone to transfer your original Imei to the new mainboard.......
Did you ever successfully fix it?
Same problem on S8+
after bending 2 eject tools to get the tray out (had installed 2 SIM + Micro SD mod) I managed to get the tray to stick out from the phone for like 2 microns!. the tray wouldnt move out any further so what I ended up doing was to pull the tray out with the help of dental floss! as genius as I thought I was, soon after I found out that the tray no longer sits flush inside the phone. even without any SIM or SD card. the tray it self looks alright. I think I have damaged the eject mechanism as well. Has any one solved this issue? am I looking at a costly repair? could it be the tray being deformed?
I cant post pictures sadly yet here. would appreciate if any one can help.
This is one of the most useful hacks if your phone is has a hybrid sim slot and you want to use SD card along with two sim cards.
I've done it several times so it's not a problem to me but what most people who did tutorial or videos about this failed to do is to highlight safety measures to make sure you don't either damage your sim/SD card or even get both of them stocked in your phone. You will need a nail file, a lighter and Evo stick glue (gum).
SAFETY MEASURES
#1 FILE DOWN MICRO SD CARD BUMP.
The Mico SD card bump at the bigger end of your micro SD card does not have any function in your phone sim slot. Use a nail file and flatten your micro SD card that way, you have eliminated the possibility of your SD card getting stock inside the phone even with added layer of sim card chip.
NB: DO NOT file or touch the other (chip) side of the micro SD else you will damage the SD card storage.
#2 DO NOT FORCE THE SIM CHIP
Don't force the Sim chip to come out instead use light heat with lighter on the plastic side of the sim card and it will come out.
#3 DO NOT USE SUPER GLUE OR HARDENING GLUE
Hard gums makes the placement of the sim Chip, it may damage the both Sim and SDcard whenever you want to separate them later.
#4 TAKE NOTE OF THE CURVE SIDE OF THE SIM CARD
Put in the sim and take measurements of where and how it should be placed so your sim card can work.
Here is a video guide.
Remember, I'm not responsible for anything that can start a thermonuclear war!
nice guide. thanks. will this work on a s10 g973f? thanks ?
