Hi Felflel,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think your device status as of now is:
Locked bootloader.
No Root permission i.e. not rooted.
S- On.
P.s. (Tip) never disclose your imei no. & Serial No. of your device when posting your device info.

You can only run the RUU which can match with your phone's CID. If you want to run any RUU other than your CID, you must super CID your phone..
Have you read that guide thoroughly? Are you S-Off..??

Then you should supercid your phone. Flash the ruu and you should be sorted pal.
Edit: hang on what error are you getting? If its 131 I believe that is cid if not then its another issue.
My question for all of those who ever tried to flash different version RUU only on unlock bootloader and rooted. S-ON still on it place. Please tell me it was a successful or not? and also share ur experience related to this. Thank you.

you can't flash the RUU you want cause in that case it probably won't work, you have to make sure that the RUU that you are going to flash has the same software version of your current main version.... if you follow this you will successfully install the RUU :good:

To flash ruu from any region you have to be s-off and Super cid as far as I know.

I'm sorry mate. Not true
You will need s-off if you want to downgrade the software or use ruu from another region.
But as long as it the right ruu for your phone it won't cause problems

If you s-off,you might consider SuperCID as well.
Then, you can flash ANY RUU you like .
Hallo, I bought in germany htc butterfly europe version.
On the box is written "butterfly x920d," but on the site is written "butterfly x920e."
Not have LTE and slot for sd.
the software is 1.21.401.2 and the CID is HTC_033
I would like to know what procedure should I follow to the root and which rom I can install on my butterfly.
with all of them I have a lot of confusion
thank you
Looks like theres a guide on youtube. First link when you do a Google search

To root, you need to unlock the bootloader at HTCDEV.com and flash a custom recovery, and a busybox like it is said in the ROM development section.

which custom recovery the one for the X920d or the X920e? and what about s-off how?
Your phone is X920D or X920E ?
I don't know which recovery you should use unless you know the model of your Butterfly.

I have BF x920D deluxe_u without micro-sd. software number 1.21.401.2 hboot 1.41
As danio.78.
I bought it in germany europe version.
Deluxe_u is the code name for the X920e so I think you should try the recovery for X920e.
( Deluxe_ub1 is for the X920d )

Yes but the X920e doesn't have a microSD slot like yours.
The X920d does have a microSD slot like mine.
I think the label printed on the back is not good, as danyo.78 said, the site says it is a X920e version.

what about s-off?
To make S-off, the devs must include your CID and model in the procedure.
S-off is curently supported for X920d cid HTC__044 and HTC __621
I don't know about X920e S-off

Any way to change the lcd density?
Yes, you must install a kernel which allows the system write like killX kernel in development section.
Otherwise, with the stock kernel, if you change the system apps, your changes will vanish after a reboot.

I have the HTC Butterfly X920e and its CID is HTCCN701, It's the device that suitable for the China mainland. So I think your device may be x920d.
Now the x920e ROM is avaliable in china, which is extracted from the latest RUU

You can't install x920e ROM for you x920d device. The kernel is different, I have tried to install x920d ROM for my x920e device, but failed.
So I made a x920e ROM from the RUU myself.

Facepalm is the only method. You need to use the manual hex edit method to change to SuperCID if not on the AT&T version.
I don't know this method (manual hex edit)
This method have a certain thread in this forum???
Please explain me this....

Build numbers is not the same as CID. Build number just refers to the Android version (such as 4.0.1).
You are rooted? How are you checking CID?
The proper way would be the command (as noted in the guide): fastboot oem readcid
my cid is htc__j15 and I try hex edit but not changed

I believe 2.10 has the same write protection that 2.14 has. Most likely he is required to use jet tool to downgrade firmware/hboot version first but there's no way to know if that risky procedure will work with an Arabic version..

CID is write protected on hboot 2.14? I didn't know that. I knew it was on 2.15.
He has the Arabic version so it's the 2.10 hboot, but yeah I've never heard of write protection on the 2.14 hboot.
