[Q] [Help Needed] TWRP 2.8.2.0 issue | Nandroid Location | External SD write - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Faced some issues.
I'm on Nexus 5, Stock ROM, Stock Kernel.
Rooted using CF-Autoroot.
1)
Flashed TWRP 2.8.2.0 (using fastboot and also TWRP Manager app), does not work, entering Recovery mode simply reboots.
Flashed TWRP 2.8.1.0, works (using fastboot).
Is there an issue with 2.8.2.0?
2)
I backed up from Recovery (TWRP 2.8.1.0), Nandroid backup. Now I can't pull it to the PC.
No file explorer can search for it in the external storage.
But it is shown in TWRP at the location /storage/sdcard0/TWRP/.
How do I pull/copy it to my PC?
3)
Another, TWRP Manager says "Due to recent changes in TWRP recovery, we are unable to specify a target storage I.E. External or USB-OTG. You'll only be able to backup to internal storage using this app."
Is there any work around for this? Can I write the backup to the External SD card? I have applied the SD card patch from the TWRP Manager app.

TWRP 2.8.2.0 Working
I got the TWRP to work (with some help of course)

[Q] CWM External SD Card?

So basically I am migrating ROMs and have a lot of junk apps that I want to remove by using the SuperWipe full script. Then straight afterwards I was planning on flashing the rom (Revolver V4). The problem is that Superwipe wipes the internal storage where I would actually put it and the rom. I don't know how things would go if Superwipe wipes itself and also what I would do if the ROM file was deleted (I wouldn't be able to boot).
I figured the solution was to flash both off my external sd card however I can't find any such option for that in CWM. Only 'Install zip from SD' which points to my internal storage.
1. Would it be ok anyway to flash it on internal storage.
2. If not, how do I access external storage from within CWM.
3. If impossible, what other options do I have for doing this?
1. No, the ROM .zip would be wiped, and you stuck.
2. There are some mount commands, but to use those you need adb working, and if you have adb working, just 'adb push rom.zip /sdcard/' then flash from internal.
3. You could install the latest Rouge XM touch recovery, which has support for internal and external, and is still touch.
Hope I've cleared it up a bit.

Access internal storage in recovery?

How do I access my internal sd from recovery or anyhow for that matter. I'm on beans 8 and I downloaded twrp and it won't reboot my phone now. says /tmp/recovery.log was copied to sdcard/clockworkmod/recovery.log please open rom manager to report issue.
Any help?
What exactly are you trying to access on your SD?
The twrp update from rom manager. Ended up restoring my stock backup. I needed 6.0.1.0 not 6.0.1.2

Adopted storage corrupted after recovery update

Hello,
I'm looking for guidance on how to restore my adopted storage (sdcard) after a TWRP recovery update.
I'm running CM 13.1 on TWRP 3.0.0. I've enabled my sdcard as adopted storage which has worked well so far.
Yesterday I've decided to update to TWRP 3.0.3 (without touching the OS or anything else) and afterwards the OS was complaining that my sd card is corrupt. I've restored TWRP 3.0.0, but I get the same error from the OS.
I can still access the sd card when the phone is in recovery mode, so I'm able to copy my photos and backups, but I'd ideally like to restore sd card functionality as is was before updating TWRP.
Any thoughts on what I've broken and how to fix?
Thanks,

failed to create backup folder while backing up to external sd card

I have Lenovo a6000 and got flashed TWRP RECOVERY 2.8.6.0. I need to back up my stock ROM. When I go to TWRP>backup>select, system, data, boot> checking md5 and swiping. But result failed. It shows *cannot create backup folder* and *failed to make backup folder*. Don't know what to do further. Need help.
And today I flashed 3.0.2-0 of TWRP. Same error. Cannot unmount sdcard, and shows something * device busy* like this.
Hi !
First , try to chose the backup location on the internal storage
Second , be sure that the removable sdcard it is supported by the rom and it is recognised in settings/storage
The problem may be with the recovery itself or with the sdcard , head over the recovery thread you have downloaded for more info or use a newer version https://forum.xda-developers.com/le...ecovery-twrp-3-0-2-lenovo-a6000-plus-t3543596
Good luck !

How to flash rom via twrp? rom zip not appearing on sd card

Hello guys,
I am looking for help because I am lost.
I have a motorola one vision, its rom is XT1970-3_kane_reteu_RSAS31_48_36_21 according to the lenovo rescue tool
I had flashed XT1970-3_KANE_RETEU_PL_11_RSAS31.Q1-48-36-23_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml via fastboot
I later was trying to install twrp and magisk to root the phone (to later try to extract data from the userpartition after a factory reset, kind of mission impossible I guess)
I was somehow able to install twrp but later when trying to boot the system the system was simply not there anymore. I must have messed around a bit
I am able to boot in recovery mode to twrp and I need to flash a rom. I would like to reset to factory or to obtain a bootable system and here I am stuck
I have the zip file of XT1970-3_KANE_RETEU_PL_11_RSAS31.Q1-48-36-23_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip on the external SD card
Currently if I try to boot the system after the logo the phone turns off
I turn on the phone, I get to the bootlooder. I had the bootlocker unlocked. I select recovery mode and enter twrp and here I am stuck:
If I select restore and select storage sd card no file to use for the restore appears in my sd card
If I select install I see the XT1970-3_KANE_RETEU_PL_11_RSAS31.Q1-48-36-23_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
I get invalid zip file format, error installing zip file
Should I use the other zip file? should this rom have another format?
I cannot reflash via fastboot currently
Thanks in advance
May be I have solved:
I saved on the SD card:
lineage-19.1-20220618-nightly-kane-signed.zip
lineage-19.1-20220618-recovery-kane.img
Via twrp I installed the .img file, a recovery tool (the recovery tool will substitute twrp)
(I accessed if I remember well from advanced, install ramdisk or something similar. I did not know exactly what I was doing, intuition was guiding me)
Rebooting the system through the recovery tool I applied the zip file
Later I resetted to factory via the recovery tool.
Once rebooted Lineage OS started in 10m
Now I can eventually reflash the motorola original rom via fastboot
