[ROM] T-Mo Edge SM-915T NK3 Rooted Stock Deodexed Knox-disabled+AT&T & upgrade Info - T-Mobile Note Edge Android Development

[ROM] T-Mo Edge SM-915T NK3 Rooted Stock Deodexed Knox-disabled+AT&T & upgrade Info
Okay... this continues the tradition of my previous, the Knox-disabled, rooted, deodexed T-Mo NJL stock ROM.
This thread will either 1) give you a deodexed NK3 if you're already on NK3, or 2) upgrade you from NJL to NK3 (baseband and boot) and provide you with a deodexed NK3 ROM.
Terms, Conditions, and Background
Please consider the following carefully before proceeding with anything in this post:
--I still have no idea what I'm doing
--I have never done any dev work other than the NJL ROM, and I really don't consider that "dev"
--I only did this because no one else has done it
--Installing/flashing anything herein may brick or otherwise destroy/render your device useless
--By proceeing, you hold me completely harmless and it's all on you!
If you're currently on NJL, start on step 1. If you're already on NK3, go to step 2
Preparation: Do at least one full nandroid (including everything but cache) onto your microSD. TWRP or CWM is okay.
Step 1:
1.1 Download the factory NK3 ROM (link below) and Odin the package. This is the full factory NK3, which means it contains the factory recovery, modem, system, etc. It will essentially reset your device to factory (without wiping the /data partition, so all your installed app and data will still be there). You will lose root. When you complete this step, your modem will also be on NK3.
This is a zipped file. You need to unzip to get the tar file for Odin. The extension will be .tar.md5.
Download Link
1.2 Follow these instructions here to regain root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/general/easy-steps-stock-odin-n915tuvu1anjl-sm-t2943993
Step 2:
2.1 Download and flash the deodexed NK3/Knox disabled zip, be sure to verify the MD5
Download Link
MD5 Link
2.2 Clear dalvik and cache
2.3 IF you came from Step 1, I recommend the following:
--Wipe the data partition
--Restore the data partition from the backup you made during the preparation phase
Why? In case things got tweaked somewhere along the way. This way, you have a fresh boot using the known good data backup with your new deodexed NK3 /system
-------
This ROM DOES NOT wipe the data partition.
This ROM comes with the international Note Edge boot graphics (credit to TEKHD)
This ROM already has the SD card write fix flashed to it (credit to TEKHD)
I made no other modifications
Credit to jovy23 -- I used his META-INF from Note 4.
-------
Afterthoughts
--Please hit/say "Thanks" if you deem appropriate
--Please be nice. I don't know what I'm doing. I'm only sharing in case someone else want the same I do.
--If you can contribute and help improve this, I'm all ears.
--Please do not mirror, repost, or otherwise share without my permission.
--In case you're wondering, I wanted deodexed because it gives way to theming/customization. I also thought I read that Xposed requires deodexed in some cases.
--Did I miss anything?

I don't know. I wish there was a change log that manifests all the changes. I know all the build pieces (CSC, bootloader, PDA, etc.) get updated to version NK3, which is why I figured it's easier to just flash the factory image to get everything up to the same version.
From previous experience, I know we could flash the extracted modem, but I thought we'd need to have a flash for bootloader too?

I just got my puter put back together. I"ve been moving I'll make a few files and test them out. I believe you are correct about the bootloader I'll look into it tho.

Here is a link to update just your modem. It's working fine on my phone. I'm not a big fan of updating the bootloader unless I really have to

Hey Scoob--I'm curious to understand why you don't want to update the bootloader. I remember seeing new (Sprint) bootloaders (for older devices) locking the device and disallowing re-root. Is this why?

Normally debs work on the original bootloader so I stay south it as long as I can. I weird like that...lol

@Snovman,
I have an International version of Edge (SM-N915F) and I would like to try to deodex also the latest fw for it.
Do you mind to share what tools have you used to deodex the original ROM?
Do you think that this ROM can work on N915F also?
Thank you.

This is the tool/steps I used to deodex:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2725930
This is largely a manual process. These are the steps I took, detailed in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-sprint-note-edge-sm-915p-njl-rooted-t2959835
ROM building process:
--I rooted the ROM and installed TWRP
--Deodexed the ROM (pulled the files, deodexed, created a .zip of the deodexed files, flashed the files back)
--Nandroid the ROM
--Extracted boot/kernel and system partition
--Renamed all the Knox stuff to .bak
--Built the flashable zip
--Tested flash on TWRP and CWM.

I don't see why it wouldn't work for the F variant.
I am now in the process of setting up a kitchen in a VirtualBox. From what I can tell, the kitchen will perform all of those steps....

Thank you for the guidance. I will try this process on a N915F firmware but I suppose that the mount points are same like for N915T.
I tried last evening with dsixda kitchen and got an .zip of 1,3 Gb but I'm a little scared to try it on the phone because the kitchen is very outdated and I put manually the mount points inside the ROM.
Can you tell me what is the mount point for "data": mmcblk0px? 26 or 27?
Regarding the VirtualBox, I tried to install it last evening on my PC (Windows7 64bit) but without success. I tried 2 versions with same result: at around 75-80% of installation it does rollback.
Thanx again.

Hello, was wondering if it would be possible to port this ROM to an AT&T phone. I am on Metro which runs on TMobile now so i cannot get an Edge without paying full price. What I can do is get an at&t version from ebay, unlock it and use it with Metro. But I want wifi calling since Tmobile tends to have crappy service in my area. Having wifi helps a lot and helps my battery life. Any thoughts?

Hi, sorry for the delay in reply. I'm afraid I won't be much help. I haven't touched anything since I worked on it back in early December. I work on these things when I need to, then move on to other interests. When a new ROM is released, I'll pick it up again and get things figured out...

I'm afraid the answer would be "no". AS far as I know, there is no solution to [easily] unlock the AT&T's bootloader, it is therefore you won't be able to flash a different ROM on the ATT phone. Were you able to install a custom recovery, the best thing to do is to get the AT&T ROM, and perform the root/deodex there.

@snovvman Can you help me out with a Kitkat Kernel for the N915T? I tried LLFK but WiFi doesn't work it just freezes and doesn't ever turn green to connect, the phone itself doesn't freeze just the wifi state... I'm coming back from MM, I want the shutter edge panel button back bad.

Hi. For WIFI to work you need to do the following when using LLFK
In build.prop set
ro.securestorage.support=false
Is the only reason you going back to kitkat the shutter edge panel? Any other impressions about MM?

It was already set to false...
But yes that's the main reason, I got it to work after odin flashing cok2, I did notice on mm after restoring all my app's the edge panel was kinda unresponsive, I'd have to click a icon 2 or 3 times in order to open it, sometimes that click would make it switch panels.

Only problem is my wifi dunno bout 4G/LTE seems to be kinda spotty I wonder if I should flash this modem.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/s3l46lx7dfs26on/modem.tar.md5

Okay yup flashng that modem seemed to speed wifi up a lil more... One thing I did also notice on both COK2 Stock LP and this modem and before flashing it is that call connectivity on outgoing calls is instant, upon hitting the green dial button, before on MM and even my Note 4 I'd have to wait 10/15 seconds and then the call would connect and start ringing.
Before flashing the modem I couldn't get beautiful widgets to detect and pickup a location and now I can.

I found one that might work for you, update the OP with the info.
I've got to flash my relay to stock and when I do I'll create a small guide. For now I found an older flash that could be used then KIES could update this ROM to the current LH1 (Need to verify build number).
I need a stock rooted rom, while traveling through the mountains the switching in CM9 isn't working correctly (phone constantly looses service when switching from 4g>3g>Edge frequently).
Here's another sim unlock. I can verify this one as working since I am now using my phone with Solavei. I purchased my phone directly from t-mobile (no contract). I used an AT&T sim to do this method.

Thank you!
Update OP. It's still in the unorganized section, but it's there!
Thank you, is a very useful guide ! :good:
You should post your first post from this thread in the request thread to show everything going on. Should work better than just posting "Samsung Relay, please"
That's the plan after I get it organized. I'm also going to follow the instructions given by kinfauns.
It's a start.
Never really notice that many steps when you go through it quickly, but this is the process that I used to revert my CM9 + CWM recovery to Stock rom + Stock Recovery. I don't know if it was supposed to happen that way, but it did. After flashing the stock PDA file (via odin) I was able to flash the CWM recovery again while adding root to the stock rom.
All of the items talking about (roms, odin, root, ect) except a program to unzip the files can be found in links in the thread in my signature. For reference, I use 7zip and just rightclick>7zip>extract to folder.
How to go Back to stock w/root from CM9:
Download stock rom (newest is the LJ1 tar.rar).
Download Odin
Unzip LJ1 into it's own folder. Navigate to where you unzipped the file.
Rename unzipped file to remove .md5 so it ends in ".tar" instead of ".tar.md5"
Unzip Odin (into it's own folder, navigate to the folder)
Put phone in download mode (Instructions are quoted in the OP of the thread in my sig)
Start Odin (assuming that you have already plugged the usb cable into your computer)
Connect phone (that's in download mode) to computer via USB cable.
ODIN Will have blue "Added!" box after it's recognized the phone (2nd box from the top left)
In ODIN, click the "PDA" Box and select the .tar for LJ1 (the file you unzipped and renamed)
Uncheck the "auto-restart" radiobox under "Added!". Then Click Start.
Wait for odin to finish. Do not touch your phone or click any buttons in the odin program. After It's done, reboot the phone.
Go into recovery mode on the phone (Vol Up Instead of Vol Down)
Wipe SDCard and cache
Reboot phone. It may take a few minutes to pass the samsung screen. The phone will vibrate briefly as is finishes booting
Sign into the phone (google, facebook, ect...this is probably a skipable step).
Turn off phone. Reboot into download mode (Vol Down)
Download nopty's CWM recovery
Unzip file (into it's own folder, navigate to it), removing the .md5 like the file above
Connect phone to computer, after ODIN recognizes ("Added!") it click the PDA button
Navigate to the unzipped and renamed (".tar") CWM file and select it.
Unceck "Auto-Reboot". Click start
Wait to finish, then power off and reboot phone
After phone has re-booted connect to computer
After connected to computer, transfer SuperSU zip(CWM Flashable) to SD card (You'll need to download this too, can be found in the Updated Stock Roms link)
After that's transferred, reboot phone into recovery mode. (Vol Up)
Use CWM to flash the SuperSU zip
Reboot phone
Congrats, you now have a stock rooted phone!
Just the basic frame for the guide, will update with links and what little troubleshooting I know and add guide to OP after it's finished.
Working with you guys is awesome.
Anyways, you guys know the drill.

Broken? No, but on occasion, it does momentarily glitch up, but once you start moving it clears itself up. Nothing like what would happen with the G2. (I do also have GPS Status installed as well)
I did run the update after taking a look through the zips and deciding to take the plunge and see; and it does reflash the recovery, and while I do have Odin, I have as yet been unable to flash any CWM again. There are no errors, it just doesn't work. I am as yet hopeful though and will report my progress. I didn't see anywhere in the update where it updated the bootloader, so flashing should still work.

Safestrap for galaxy s5 active g870w telus

G870W Recovery
Hello there!
I've successfully rooted my (Telus) S5 Active / G870WVLU1ANH3 / kltevlactive using CF Auto Root, blowing my knox and all that, works great.
However, I'm now trying to flash either TWRP or CWM Philz for klte (which may have not been to smart come to think about that, but I recall reading it should work just fine) using Odin, and I can't get into recovery. Whenever I attempt to boot into recovery, I end up with "cannot do normal boot".
I recall reading a SafeStrap for G900 works for the G870, but I can't find the thread again, and don't want to just try and see what happens.
I've also tried flashing a recovery using either TWRP app and RomManager, I have yet to try Rashr, but since all the recoveries I've found are for klte, instead of kltevlactive, I'm slightly worried.
I'm not all that new to rooting, but I'm quite new (and upset ) at the Samsung realm, any chance you guys would know what could get me going with a custom recovery?
I also have a Xposed Framework installed, I read it could cause issues with SafeStrap, but I don't suppose it would affect flashing a rom from Odin/whatever else?
My SELinux on the phone claims to be "Enforcing", if that matters, perhaps.
Thanks!

For installing safestrap you must remove XPOSED. Once installed SS you can reinstall xposed. BUT the only SafeStrap I found is for G900V (Verizon s5) and it has been abbonded in September 2015 as it has a heavy bug. If I was you, i won't look for adventures and flash other phone model's software to my own. And it could be usefull to check if the phone you are going to buy has a permanent locked bootloader when you're interested in modding.
Hey thanks man. Now I'm sure this is gonna a weird question to you but. As for safestrap I've read about out dated versions. But are there different versions for different devices? Could you help me get the right one for my phone or tell me where to download it.

Just like normal custom recoveries the safestrap recoveries also must be fitted for every single Phone. As comparison you can think about a custom recovery that works on every phone with unlocked bootlader. That was great but can never be made real. I already tried to find a matching recovery for your S5 active but haven't found anything suitable yet.
I'm still looking like crazy...

figured out how to flash custom roms to the g870w find a rom for an s5 variant that is snapdragon download it use 7zip to open the archive dont extract it (must get the telus ol1 firmware from android file host first ) once you have the ol1 telus firmware extract it with 7zip to a folder that you can remember now go back to the s5 rom you downloaded earlier look for the boot.img in 7zip and delete it then drag and drop the boot.img from the telus firmware that you downloaded........ On the phone make sure to root with cf auto root and install flashfire from the playstore as its vital for this to work as there is no custom recovery for the g870w now once you edit the custom rom you downloaded to include the telus boot.img drag and drop it to your phone open flash fire on the phone click the little plus button select the wipe fucntion then click the plus button again click the flash zip or ota option and select the modified custom rom you just transfered go back to where it shows the rom name and the wipe option hold on the wipe option and drag it to the spot above the rom name then click flash it will reboot and wipe then start flashing the modified custom rom.......if you want xposed download the sdk21 xposed and put it on your phone once it boots then go to flashfire again select just the flash option and select the xposed file click flash then phone will reboot flash xposed then boot up again...... i know its quiet a few steps but its the easiest way to get a custom rom on the canadian s5 active

Thanks for the detailed information man. I wish I'd find as detailed information about my S6
I'm far from geek and I'm. Totally lost into this forum. And from being Canadian I feel like everything is a little more complicated. I never find anything for Canadian version. Same when I had my s3 any s5 active. Luckily someone pointed me step by step.
So take it as a help call ?.
Cheers
I've been look for a way to use diff ROM on my S5 Active. Mine is from Bell, will your procedure work on my phone?
Thanks.
S5 Active Bell
Hello jayandcourt2,
I followed your instructions but instead of using boot.img from Telus' stock ROM I used the ones from Bell (G870WVLU1BOL1_G870WOYA1BOL1_BMC.zip)
I tired using "PopWiz Edge Plus 5.1.1 for the Galaxy S5 SM-G900X Snapdragon" discussed on XDA Forum
I deleted boot.img on the Pop Wiz ROM and copied the boot.img I extracted from the stock Bell ROM as per your instruction. Ran Flashfire and added
'Wipe' and 'Flash ZIP or OTA' actions (Wipe the first action). After flashing it booted up OK. I went through the initial setup of the Phone, account name, wifi connection... etc.
I don't know if I actually installed the Pop Wiz ROM. It is still using Touch Wiz, and when I flashed the Xposed framework my phone just went into a boot loop.
Just like it would if the ROM is not deodexed. Would you mind giving me the URL's to some of the custom ROM's you have successfully use using the procedures you described?
Update: I re-did the procedure and I noticed during the flashing that I got a message, something like the ROM is for klte device and I have klteactive.
So I guess the custom ROM I have won't work with my G870W.
Thanks mate.

figured out how to flash custom roms to the g870w find a rom for an s5 variant that is snapdragon download it use 7zip to open the archive dont extract it (must get the telus ol1 firmware from android file host first ) once you have the ol1 telus firmware extract it with 7zip to a folder that you can remember now go back to the s5 rom you downloaded earlier look for the boot.img in 7zip and delete it then drag and drop the boot.img from the telus firmware that you downloaded........

Safestrap has been DEAD for years now. The SM-G870A and V versions have a locked boot-loader, W and T versions are luckier, but not to be used with Bootstrap. All we can do on A & V is to root it via Towelroot and Debloat it. Anything else will just brick it. I have tried everything and since Safestrap isn't developed any more, there is no newer Safestrap that would fit version 4 builds.
Thanks ChingghisKhan,
I don't know if owners of G870W are luckier, I tried to install both Clock Work and TWRP recovery and wasn't successful.
I believe it, like the A & V has a locked bootloader. I recently updated my Android OS to Marshmallow and lost
my root. Apparently rooting Marshmallow requires Systemless root and I haven't found any solution yet. Right now I'd
be happy just to get my root back on Android 6. I might have to just go back to Lollipop until someone find out
a way for a Systemless root on G870W.
Cheers.

Hi m3tatr0n84,
You need to substitute the version that fits your phone, i.e. "W" or which ever you have. http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
I am using "A" here in Mongolia with any carrier, also works in Germany, India, etc...

This rom is a stock rom and is almost 100% stock but it comes without dm-verity to avoid boot problems in case you want to preserve your custom recovery.
This rom is meant to be used in case of emergency, give a fresh start to your device, restore your device in case of corruption or just to play around.
I have tested this rom on my own device and everything is working properly.
Please check the specifications at the end of this op.
Requisites:
New assert-fixed twrp version forked from messi's twrp
Note: All the credit for twrp goes to @messi2050, this is just an assert revision of the current twrp made from messi. It will be deleted as soon as we get an updated version with the right assert tags.
Installation steps
Download the new assert-twrp version and flash it as you would normally do it.
Standard Wipe (factory reset) and Format Data are optional (unless you have a non-stock based rom installed already). If you want a full fresh start you should format data, reboot into recovery again and do an standard wipe x3.
Install the rom.

I think you mean screenshot right??
I usually don't take screenshots on my stock roms, basicly because there is nothing new/fancy to show. It is stock and it'll look the same as when you buyed your phone, with the same default wallpaper and apps...
I take screenshots in my slim versions (wich I will start soon).
For some reason doing the Vol - and Power does the same wipe problem as in Messi's V1 of twrp for me. Am i doing something wrong?
Lgms210 custom roms
My name is red208 and I just want to know if there is a custom ROM for MetroPCS LG ms210 preferably like Resurrection Remix I also want to know if this stock
ROM right here is at all any different form the way metro does it? Im really trying to bypass the 8 gig hotspot restrictions that metro has so it can be a truly unlimited hotspot and i know the easiest way to do that is too just Flash a custom rom plz help me??!!?

You mean that you power off your device and the use the Volume Key and Power hit yes twice, right???
If that is the case you could try flashing DM-Verity or SuperSu again to avoid that little bootloop. Or you can just stick (like me) to do and ADB REBOOT RECOVERY.
Please notice that I never mentioned that the bug-fixed twrp was intended for this bootloop/reset issue, it just correct some asserts problems that block our devices from installing this rom and any other room with the right and original asserts.

Question 1: There is not at the moment, I will start with Leaneage OS after doing my slim version. I don't know how many time it will take as this is my second device and I am just playing around with it (my V20 give me more pleasure).
Question 2: Stock means Stock... Nothing new nor fancy, same setup, apps, etc.... I mention on the OP what this rom porpuse is.
Hotspot issue: not all the time depends on a custom rom, this is my first device with metropcs service, I don't know if they sync your hotspot usage with their servers. If they do you are not going to be able to bypass that. Any ways my slim version it would get rid of plenty of bloatware and it may work if they depend on the main app on the device.

The hotspot will be monitored regardless of if you're using a stock room or custom. The only difference being that on a custom rom, you won't receive a notification stating you went over 8 gigs. Once you hit the 8 gig limit, your hotspot speed will be slowed down.
Also, when you go over your 8 gigs of high-speed hotspot it won't reset at the beginning of your pay period, but exactly a month (to the day) after you went over.
So say your pay period is the 5th and you go over your limit on the 4th. You'd have to wait until the 4th of the following month before you get high speed back.

I was just about to ask if your slim rom would be a debloat, but now I know. So good look there.
Also, if and when you get down on lineage. I'll be more than happy to test, I had been working on it myself before I blew up my hard drive. So I'd rather help then be a sponge.
Im also willing to test.
Ufffff...
Ok guys... After several days testing / building the slim version I am getting really frustated and dissapointed...
Everytime something goes wrong there is no way to boot into recovery mode using hard keys, that only makes twrp wipe and reboot but not entering on the complete twrp options. So everytime that I flash the test .zip of the slim version and I get an error before actually booting completely into the normal system I have to go to Mocosoft (windows) and use LGUP to flash the .kdz and start from scratch all over.
I hate to have to reboot my laptop and use Mocosoft, I really hate not been able to reboot in recovery mode as in other LG devices with the hardkeys.
I guess is another limitation of the actuall twrp version that we have, maybe we will have to wait for an updated twrp version to avoid all this trauma.
Right now I feel like I'm done with this device, I have used LGUP around 15 times in 3-5 days just because I can no go into twrp.
If this is happening with a stock based slim version I don't want to think about building/testing lineageos.
If you know an option to go to twrp version after a corrupted/incomplete system tell me about please. I have used the followings procedure but not success:
1.- Hardkeys (just makes twrp wipe the system).
2.- Fastboot boot twrp.img (command fails).
3.- Flashing original twrp (from messi) and then the flashing back the bug-fixed twrp (forked from messi) and trying to reproduce the first boot taking out the battery and using hardkeys (no luck, still wipes the system and reboot by it self).
Sorry guys, I think I will stop for a few days... Maybe I need to go out and have a little fun and come back...

I hope you can success with lineage 14.1, i wasn't able to make it boot on the stylo 2 plus since ms210 and ms550 are almost the same if you managed to boot it then I'm sure it will work on the stylo too, good luck.
I know it's really late, but I was just gonna say build a version of your rom with the flags for Messi's twrp and just use that to flash.
Either way, I'm glad you managed to sort the shiz out and I'm wishing you the best of luck with development.

I don't get it?
You mean the asserts right?
I haven't test the new twrp version of messi (no free time), so you are telling me that the new version still have the wrong flags?
I usually don't remove the CORRECT flags from my roms (a Tmo user could flash the metropcs and cause a brick/softbrick for example) to avoid user's mistakes/misread...

The new version has the correct flags. I never said it didn't.
I'm saying that a twrp can be created with unified flags allowing a room to be shared between devices without having to build between the lv3 and the aristo. Sorta like what had been done with the LG Leon a couple years ago.
Instead of using the h or Ms flags relating to model number, you can use the consistent board config as the basis.
Either way, the only way someone could brick or soft brick from this method is if it were like the S4 situation where you have to flash the carrier specific kernel version for the device. Like using the At&t rom on the Verizon s4 will cause a soft brick until you flash the Verizon s4 kernel.
This is only just an idea in response to you having to go back and forth (before you got the updated twrp) on recovery versions during your tests
OP updated to link and point to the new and updated twrp version from messi.
You guys no longer need the bug-fixed twrp version as before.

Can you do me a solid, sorry if I'm turning into an annoyance. Add "lg aristo" into either the thread tags or into the thread name itself. It'll add the thread into the Aristo board for easier access and make this easier to find. I recommended your rom to another user who had no idea what I was even talking about. (So I shared the link if you don't mind me doing so)

HELP? If I provide stock MM tar could any1 make a ROM. I tried to no avail.

I have bled my heart out trying to make a ROM with SUPER R kitchen. Boot loop every time. I used stock MM tar. I want DeOdex/ZipAlign/Init.d support/deKNOX/SEpermissive. I'll debloat and Su/xposed on my own. I just for the life of me can not get a zip from Super R Kitchen to boot. Or even if no1 could make 1, but point me in the right direction, ID give hella thanks.
N915G
PS. My phone was purchased unlocked, so that's not the issue. Using TWRP 3.1.0 built for this model.
Here is my attempt at making my desired rom in zip format. It is not sogned (not enough ram). Its raw.img format. Doesnt include /data.
https://www.mediafire.com/download/aj33z92u189jvxp
Built with Super R Kitchen. All I got was bootloop no matter my set up, free linux version on Ubuntu.
Also, could i just turn off secure boot (dm-verity) via my build prop?
Is there a way to turn off knox without cooking a rom? I think i know how to get init.d activate via terminal .zip, seems to work for this phone. The test shows up in data but universal init.d apk still says my kernel doesnt support init.d.
Also could you change to SEpermissive using stock kernel?
If there is anyone, say something lol.
Here r screenshots of my phone info. Also will have link for stock .tar up in a few via Google Drive.
Stock Image (.tar format)

Edit: This is the wrong stock image for my phone, maybe thats where my issues came from lol ill have new stock image in new thread once i have a wotking rom lol.
I tried to use a stockish rom made by someone else but it would bootloop, inless youbused like mickey kernel or emotion kernel, and i lost my screen off edge detection when i used it last. So i was trying to make my own. Ill end up buying super R kitchen for windows see if it does any better on a note edge MM Rom. If there any other suggestions im open to them. Thanks

Ended up using a different kitchen/twrp.
Update: as of this morning I hard bricked my Note Edge, so until I can get the bootloader fixed, fingers crossed, this is on hold. I'm running a ZTE Zmax Pro ATM so...

I have a working ROM for N915G, it's not DeOdex, but has Su,BB,Xposed,Init.d,su.d,sqlite,Multi-user,Dark UI mod, and Debloat(I'll upload debloat file so you can see what I took out)

AT&T LG V20 H91020l Flashable Stock Roms

Flash with TWRP, choose one or the other.
H91020i_rooted.zip
You probably want this one. It is stock with the following modifications:
engineering bootloader (aboot)
TWRP 3.5.2_9-0 (recovery)
mk2000 kernel, Magisk v23.0 patched (boot)
hidden bootloader warning (raw_resources)
H91020i_stock.zip
Lose root, revert to stock. After installing, shut the phone off and then do a factory reset.
Lol, thanks for the package. It works just like h91020h, only slightly newer, but i don't have to do the kernel, twrp, or the fixed boot graphic. I can just install this, and debloat.
Works great, installed it with latest TWRP on nougat firmware (initially rooted using dirtysanta)
twrp-3.6.1_9-0-h910.img
H91020i_rooted.zip
Auto_Debloat 2.1
mk2000 2.3 beta 1 kernel
Magisk-v24.3 - Rename .apk to .zip or not, worked both ways in TWRP
Loving it, flashing other mods now like gps, high imp., quad dac mod, etc...

Howdy!
Sorry to be asking, but I'm trying this after having been on LOS for ages since I need VoLTE access. After flashing this, I get no service of any sort. Keeps trying to connect, never actually connects. My IMEI is still correct, I've sent my old modem files through fastboot, I've flashed 910 Oreo modem images, no dice.
Any ideas as to what I'm missing in this process? 910 on AT&T, USA, thanks much for your time!

I really appreciate the super comprehensive reply, thanks so much! It was on the carrier's end, it was just a strange case of timing, a worsening of the AT&T nonsense that got me to switch back to Oreo in the first place.
Thank you!
I flashed the rooted zip from this thread after fallowing this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...irtysanta-most-variants-noobfriendly.3722278/ now the phone only boots the Fastboot. Oddly it even goes to fast mode when I try to enter TWRP it even still makes you choose yes twice like normal but instead of twrp I get fastboot.
Anyone care to point me in the right direction?
Something went wrong, you need to verify you can go into download mode and flash stock kdz and start from there....
[ROOT] HOWTO: AT&T H910 up to v20g (FULLY TESTED)
***WARNING*** This is ONLY for the H910. If you flash H915 firmware on an H918 -- you WILL brick it. If you are currently on Oreo, you can root your phone, but you CAN NOT keep Oreo - for now. This will downgrade you back to Nougat, which is...

I formatted data/ and flashed H91020i_rooted.zip onto my H910 (rooted with DirtySanta and flashed to H91020h_Oreo_full_rooted.zip approximately 2.5 years ago). It appeared to work, but it looks like I lost root... whenever I try to do something that requires root, I get "Unfortunately, Magisk has stopped" as soon as the app tries to become root.
Any ideas what to try next?
so could this be used after the root procedure here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/root-howto-at-t-h910-up-to-v20g-fully-tested.3664500/ ? Because the full stock 910r package used there is no longer available
