[Q] Which one will it be ? : LibertyROM(Sense 6) 4.4.2 or CyanogenMod CM11S 4.4.4 ? - HTC One S

I am nearly ready to wipe out the HTC Stock Android 4.1.1 from my phone . . . and all apps and user data.
Phone is HTC One S (S4) Stock HTC Android 4.1.1
Which one of these 2 ROMs shall I target to Install ?
Liberty(Sense 6) 4.4.2 or CyanogenMod CM-11S 4.4.4 ?
. . . I am looking for comfort and stability.
( Phone is SIM-unlocked, S-On, UnRooted, HBoot 2.15 )
At present I have voice service pay-per-use $100 card from VirginMobile.

I used Liberty and then switched to CM (OPO port) and in the end I'm gonna stay on CM cause in my case is way more stable. I'd suggest to try both and decide by yourself. Start from Liberty, if it works for you, I'd sure use it. Otherwise, go on with CM and you'll be fine. But sense 6 is sure worth a try.

I prefer stability ( rather than sense+6 extras ), so as you said, the CM11 is more stable.
BTW, did you mean CM11-original or CM11-S ? Also is your comment based on HTC One S(S4) ?.
I hope with CM11-S I will be able to do these:
Day-to-day functions, in a pleasant and stable fashion: Telephony, Internet-ing-WiFi, Sygic GPS, Playback Movies in HD, SKYPEvideo, DLNA-stream-out, Youtube, Netflix, USB-Host/OTG, etc...
I also would want to access the new andro 4.4.4 features: Miracast-stream-out, ART to gain App loading speed, enhanced UI & goodies, enhaced Bluetooth, USB-keyboard-Mouse connectivity.
I appreciate your comments.

I'm using CM11 based on OPO (One Plus One). I'm on One S s4. Unfortunately I'm not using all the features you mention, so I'm sorry I can't help... Day to day activities, wifi and GPS is working great on my device. Using disable service and greenify, battery has got an improvement from stock phone.
You should read the whole topic to see what's fit your needs...

a bit more detail as to CM version that you are using:

[Q] Is there any 100% stable Rom available for Desire S?

Is there any 100% stable rom available for Desire S? Ive been searching for it and found so many out there but everyone is complaining about every rom out there, complaining about wifi or camera or restarting issues are these roms meant to be unstable or they are supposed to be like stock one? can anyone please tell or guide regarding ICS or Jelly Bean rom i can get without getting in trouble as ive never ported my phone before, thanks!
There is nothing in the whole wide world nobody is complaining about.
To topic: there are roms that are way better than stock. Most people having issues don't know what they are doing.
I've used most roms and most stable 3 are cm7 ,virtuous unity and fallout
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
Fully stable ROMs that I've used and liked are:
Gingerbread (Android 2.3):
Endymion
Reaper
Cyanogenmod 7
Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0)
ICE_DS 4.3 (fully working!)
Fallout (not 100%, missing wifi tethering, but every single other thing works).
Hope this helps!
you mentioned ICE_DS 4.3 (fully working!) can you send me the link from where i can get the guide and download it? I've stock 2.3.5 on my Desire S with Sense 3.0, thanks!
i found this is this right:

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the following stable ROMs?:
Cyanogenmod 7
Endymion
Fallout
Reaper
Virtuous Unity
Alternatively, where can I find a straight forward comparison of them?

try it yourself.
Don't let other ppl's preference determine what suites you, if I ever did that then i would be stucked at rom A, and i wouldnt even bother to try rom B.
Even though i read that there were many issue with rom C i still tried it out, and the issues they mention didn't appear in my phone. So my current rom is now rom D.
So then rom B had an update, so i back-up my current rom then restore rom B then updated it. I didnt like it so i went on to try rom E which was one of the lattest developement.
Take ur time to try it all, because once u tried everything u will get bored as i am now and just waiting for the lastest update to come.

I'm pretty conservative when it comes to changing ROMs.
I know that CyanogenMod 7 comes with integrated OpenVPN and WiFi tethering if I recall correctly. I consider these two features as quite desirable. I assume that Endymion and Reaper have that too as they are based on CM7, right? Apparently, Reaper is not based on the stable CM 7.2 release but then, on the other hand, it has been advocated as very stable. So, why has the developer then promised a final release?
I'm scared of losing my apps and data when changing ROMs. What ways do you guys use to ensure that your can restore everything to working order after you've flashed your new ROM?

Does the free version of TB suffice?
Any recommendable TB beginners guides out there?
yes, perfectly good enough. You just won't have the batch function. But it's easy to use and has a simple ui. I will say this though, if your going to be flashing roms regularly then it is more than worth paying for the full app, I paid for tb and Rom manager on the day I unlocked my bootloader, and haven't once thought that maybe I shouldn't have

Virtuous Infinity
Virtuous Infinity v1.33.0 Alpha3 looks good with very few bugs and it offers full Sense 4.0 support I will try this tomorrow lets see how it goes, I hope it will turn out good!!

Well, in that case, stock Rom suits best for u. IMHO, the loveliest part of Rom developing is that someone found issues and someone trying to fix it. That's what Android Dev really is. And I enjoy using all kinds of Roms developed by those awesome HTC Saga developers. Every Rom has some bugs, and it doesn't matter if they don't affect your daily use. Enjoy them I'm currently using CM10 by nexx. Rant too much...:banghead:

Another Vote for Ice DS
Version 4.4 + the new tweaked kernel = a big improvement over 4.3.
As a based-on-stock rom I think it' the choice for you.

I don't agree with that.
I had to disable the SIM-code, because every couple of days, my HTC crashed and Restarted.
(if you don't know that, you don't get call's because of the simcard-code).
That was the reason I bought a new smartphone (xperia U).
Since the HTC was in my desk-drawer, I began to experiment with rooting/changing ROM
Now I have fall-out for 2 weeks now, and my phone hasn't crashed 1 time.
So for me, custom ROMS are more stable than the stock one. (and faster, smoother, ...)
It just feels like a whole new phone.
Anybody knows witch ROM is the best for Battery Life ?
It should be ICS and Sense 4.0 ... At the Moment i have the "Project X" installed
Try ice ds...I am getting on an average close to four hours of screen time on a full charge...that's the max I have ever gotten on any Rom ics or gb...

[Q] 4.0 RUU update isuues!

Hi! I updated my DS to 4.0 via RUU about a 8 days ago. Every thing is going fine except some minor issues. I would like someone to have a look at these and provide any possible solution. :good:
1) My DS is starting to lag. It's like that its been overburden with the processes.
2) The weather wigdet is not locating my location correctly. I tried WiFi, GPRS and GPS, but no use. Its says unable to get the location. Another app was not able to get my location.
3) The browser has also got slower. The internet browsing in the browser and Playstore has slowed down.
Any help would be appreciated.

As for the lag and speed I guess HTC stock ROM will never be that fast as custom one. For other issues have u tried to factory reset your phone? I remember this helped me time ago then i updated over OTA to GB and powerbutton didn't work.
There was a very good reason why HTC didn't release v4 as an OTA update - it's buggy and cr4p.
Go and do some reading about custom ROMs if you want something more stable.
If you want the latest Android version and speed, your only option is a custom ROM.
The only positives of the HTC decision to work on this RUU (or ICS update in general is more correct) was the latest firmware (which actually has no confirmed improvements) and the kernel source that actually has the great value, clearly not appreciated by our CM devs (this is not an insult, more a regret)

Roms that work with T-Mobile htc one s

I started this to see if anyone can list a few ROMs that work with T-Mobiles htc one s. Please help by listing the ROM you are on and by saying if the ROM has any issues; such as WiFi not working for example.

I'll be first
Cm10 nightly- works excellent but it takes WiFi about 5 mins to kick in after I toggle it. If any one knows how to fix it please reply to this post

I've been using $droyd$'s AOKP 4.2.2 ROM and the only issue is that as of right now, you can't record in 1080p. Other than that, its very smooth and fast.
Also if you were unaware before, wifi-calling doesn't work on any jelly bean rom.
Good luck!

WIFI issues are a nuance of this phone and the tmobile seems to be the most affected - it's different for each access point, user, phone, rom and firmware. In short you'll have to try it.
My tmobile worked with wifi on CM10 and CM10.1, it would not work with Viper until I downgraded my hboot (partial s-off enables some firmware write access) and flashed my wifi firmware. It get's interesting - I then put the old firmware back and the wifi still worked!!
Did you see the S-OFF thread? This will enable you to flash the radio firmware which will solve any problems.
Remember your WIFI channels - different countries use different range of channels and some access points 'helpfull' set the channel automaticlly. I have many devices that cannot cope with channel12.
Not trying to be a buzz kill here, but what's the purpose of this thread? I mean the Dev section is right over there, and the first page is flowing with fully working or close to fully working new ROMS.
Just saying.
I see what your saying. But honestly when you go through the a certain ROMs thread, they never say how WiFi doesn't work on T-Mobile phones. Or any of the problems Tmobiles users face. And who wants to go through a thread having to look for that one specific detail about a ROM whether or not to see if WiFi works. Also when looking through these ROM threads you find people that just like to say thank you (which there is nothing wrong with) that fill up the pages, making it harder to know if everything in that ROM is really going to work on your tmobile HTC one s, because people do search through comments to see what the users say. Therefore I made this thread for all T-Mobile users who want to post and say whether their ROM they are using works perfectly or if they are experiencing problems. And who wants to go through the process of flashing a new ROM without even knowing whether something like WiFi works. So yeah that's why i made this thread
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
I get that, ROM posts can be a little all over the place sometimes. I didn't understand at first; I'm one of the few T-Mo users with pretty much no problems. It also doesn't help that the ROM database that some guy did in the Dev section hasn't been updated for some time.
Thankyou

If you are S-ON and have high HBOOT and want a Sense-based ROM with working WiFi, you were looking at TrickDroid 7 (TMOUS based), Unknown Retribution, and I think one more (Energy Blue, IIRC) that were based on recent updates. Since they were all based on the TMOUS ROM, everything should work without doing anything super special, including WiFi-calling. Virtuous Ville+ also had working WiFi, but no WiFi-calling. Recent CM 10.1 nightlies are working really well. At least, those are the ROMs I've used.

Wait are you saying that Recent cm10.1 nightlies have wifi working on our device. and by wifi working i mean it automatically turns on, and not just hangs and turns on later .
I haven't had any WiFi hangs.
I just started using Liquid Smooth. Pretty nice IMO. The only issues I've notcied were a bluetooth hang that fixed after a reboot, and Voice search keeps crashing.

Right now I'm on Viper 2.1.0 with the full firmware from the 3.16 WWE OTA -- I only made that jump because S-OFF makes it easy to switch without having to downgrade HBOOT. So HBOOT is 2.15 and Radio is 1.11.50.05.28. But I've just started using that and can't give you much in the way of impressions on WiFi stability yet. Just flashed it last night and didn't have any WiFi problems downloading my apps last night or weather checks this morning.
Before that I was using a recent CM 10.1 nightly on the TMOUS 2.35.531.10 firmware. So HBOOT 1.14 and 1.11t. I ran that firmware combination from shortly after its release until flashing Viper. ROMs in use were either CM 10.1 nightlies or Unknown Retribution (TMOUS 2.35 based).

noob question- What do you mean by TMOUS 2.35 based. And how does that affect the cm10.1 nightly
I mean ROMs that were built using T-Mobile US's 2.35 ROM as a base. Other Sense-based ROMs, like Viper, start with different ROMs as a base. The different Sense bases are part of the reason people run into WiFi problems when using ROMs originally created for other regions.
CM 10.1 has an entirely different heritage so it has its own ways of dealing with those issues.

p.s. sorry for the slow reply
Gotta Tell you the Viper 2.1.0 rocks...its fast awesome battery life and its got working wifi...not wifi calling but just wifi in general...it honestly is the best sense ROM...I have tried CM 10, Virtuous Ville+, P.A.C Man and even the ICS ROMs and I gotta say the Venom team makes an awesome product...
"[rom][S4][15FEB]Updated_4.2.2_AOKP-Working-video" seems to work great with TMOUS hboot 1.14, added the new camera (in the post) with photosphere, The only little bug I found is the bluetooth doesn't list station info on my car stereo. I saw a tearing fix using bubba kernel, but I'm just living with it for now. Everything else seems to work great!
I just flashed the LiquidSmooth JB ROM from Droyd and this thing is amazing.. Coming from a rooted Stock Sense there really is no comparison, I might give Viper a try but this is clearly gonna be my daily driver

I think you can use RUU from HTC to downgrade without root/unlock BL/S-OFF, I'm not sure but should work. Remember it will clear your phone's data, backup first.
4.0.4 from HTC on One S is really great power life. 4.1.1 could achieve nearly same result but you will need rooted and buy greenify donate on playstore, uses it to freeze all those annoying no use background services/apps and remember to enable power saver mode in JB. By using custom kernel and rom, the battery actually can be just as great as 4.0.4.
4.2.2 on the other hand, it drains a little bit more battery because of Blinkfeed and other stuffs.
