ROMS from similar devices - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just not got this device after buying the newest model TF103C and relizing that it didn't have any custom recovery or roms. I like the interface of it because it's kitkat. My question would be since we have kitkat roms for this tablet how come we don't have any ports from other devices. Like for example the Asus Stock Modded Odex/Deodexed ROM - 11.4.1.27 KK 4.4.2 rom for the asus transformer TF700 hhere's the link is there anyway it can be ported to our TF300 verison? Also is there any other way to install a custom recovery on this tablet without using a pc? Since I got this off of craglist it didn't come with the usb cable so i had to order one off ebay. I can't wait to try the custom roms for this.

The TF103C is an intel processor? That means different kernel which means harder port.

I have the TF300 version. Can the roms from TF700 be ported over to it?

Oh I misunderstood your first post
Some ROMs can be, but it takes a lot of work to port perfectly. That stock ROM you linked to looks a lot like the new Android L anyways, so if you can't wait you could try one of the Android L ROMs available for the TF300t. If you unlock your bootloader and root your tf300t, you can install a recovery from inside the tablet using Terminal Emulator, without the assistance of a tablet. Just make sure that the recovery you install is a KK compatible recovery. TWRP 2.8+ should be good.

[Q] HDMI output - which ROM?

Alright folks, first-time poster here.
Got a P5110 for my birthday. Rooted it and installed Cyanogen Mod 10, so I'm now running 4.2.1. However I've just realised that there is an HDMI adaptor available for the tablet, but it doesn't work on any CM ROMs.
On the developer forum there is a thread containing a link to the stock 4.0.4 ROM the tablet came with. Could someone tell me that if I flash my tablet with this 4.0.4 ROM it will remain rooted and the HDMI adaptor would then work?
Cheers for any help
It wont remain rooted , but you can root it again!

Ah right, so if I restore to stock 4.0.4 does that mean I've "unrooted" it, and it will be the same as it was when it came out of Tesco?

The same, sans a warranty. You'll have re-installed the stock rom and removed access to root.

GT-P5110 and GT-P5100 do not support HDMI output. However, US version GT-P5113 supports*.
So, is it possible to install GT-P5113 stock firmware to GT-5110 and GT-P5100? Has anyone tried? If yes, will it enable HDMI output support or is this hardware specific issue?
* I am new forum user so I cannot link reference to this, but googling "GT-P5113 When Using The HDMI Adapter I Dont See A Picture" will find GT-P5113 HDMI output troubleshooting article from Samsung's website.

Rooting? Stability? Unlocked Bootloader still possible?

I have a few questions...
I've been around xda for a bit rooting and flashing roms but this TF300 business sounds a bit more complicated so I have some questions.
Build# JOP40D.WW_epad-10.6.1.8-20130225
I have a TF300T running stock 4.2.1 rooted with a bunch of root mods to make things a bit smoother but it looks like custom rom would be still faster than this. Am I correct?
How stable are the custom roms in comparison to the stock rom? Will I be able to get OTA updates in the future if ASUS decides to release more?
Is my bootloader still unlockable if I'm running whatever came with the last stock update?
How hard it is to brick a TF300? I've had 3 phones that were pretty much unbrickable. (Assuming one does not flash the wrong files to the wrong phone)
Which tutorial should I be follow? Can I unlock the bootloader on 4.2.1's bootloader or do I have to downgrade?
Is this sub-forum not friendly enough to help out a new guy who has read through many topics to try and help himself first?

[Q] Does rooting alow for higher versions of android if you have the hardware?

My phone runs 4.2.1 and cannot be upgraded, not because of hardware limitations ( I've got a 1.2ghz quadcore and 2GB of ram ), but simply because of the provider, or huawei I don't even know. I'd like to have 4.4

Rooting doesn't give you a "Higher" Android version. A custom Rom Gives you a Higher android version, Rooting your phone will only unlock the ability to modify your phone E.G Flashing a Custom recovery CWM or TWRP and flashing a Custom rom.
But first there must be a Custom rom with android 4.4 released for your phone, since i don't know which phone you have i can't help you search for one.
You could search the google for a Custom rom but i recommend to search on XDA if possible since most of the roms here are safe.

[Q] Possible to flash stock honeycomb to tf300t

Hi, I have a Asus TF300t and unlocked the boot loader and installed CM11 M6.
I was hoping to know if anyone has flashed the official honeycomb operating system back on the tablet. Is it possible? It seems honeycomb is a bit faster. I wanted to try it out.
Thank you.

I don't think that it is possible, or at least I haven't heard of going back that far. People generally have trouble flashing back to ICS, which was what the device was released with. I don't think a Honeycomb ROM exists for the tf300t since it was before.

Is there a specific 4.3 rom for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 SM-T210(R)?

From what I understand 4.3 has color emojis for Samsung devices and that's mainly what I want from it or Kitkat

No, there is not an official 4.3 ROM. There is some 4.4.2 ROMs but they are still in development.

Thanks. I didn't think so but on the roms page it has all the Jelly Bean roms together so I didn't know if one happened to be 4.3. I am aware of the Kitkat roms still being under development and I hope one finally becomes completely stable or at least useable. Best case scenario is an official Kitkat update from Samsung but I have little doubt of that. It'd be nice even if they skipped Kitkat but gave us Android L but that's even less likely. I've tried the Kitkat roms here and they just didn't cut it for me. I am happy with a 4.2.2 rom that I found when I tried to find a stock rom. It said stock rom on it for the SM-T210 but it wasn't stock at least for the SM-T210, as it was running 4.2.2 compared to the real stock 4.1.2. The wifi didn't work but I found an easy fix

I tried that rom. It is a port of the stock firmware on another device. I wish the development had not been discontinued.

I am assuming you flashed stock on odin. When you flash back to stock, your tab will always use the recovery installed to flash what i think is the kernel. All you need to do is, make sure your tablet is off. (It may be trying to boot without any lights.) Once it is off, hold down power, volume down, and home. Wait 4 seconds and relese the power buton but keep holding volume down and home for 2 seconds. Then let go of all the buttons, press volume up and connect your tablet to your computer. You should now be able to use odin to flash stock firmware.
