[Completed] [Q] Galaxy S4 S975L (StraightTalk) - Needs a thread! - XDA Assist

Walmart just (Dec 2014)had a nice deal on the Straight Talk Galaxy S4 - $249. Several folks bought one.
The model number is SM-S975L.
Along with a few others, I have been searching xda-developers for information about working with this phone. Some have posted questions in the
"xda-developers Samsung Galaxy S 4 i9500, i9505, i9505G, i9506"
thread, but it appears this phone is different from the "i95xx" ones and doesn't fit in that thread.
Question #1:
Where can we aggregate questions and comments and help for the S 4 S975L?
Could someone start a thread for it separate and parallel to the "Galaxy S 4 i9500, i9505, i9505G, i9506" one?
Question #2:
Is anyone with development experience looking into doing some work (e.g., Lollipop/CM12) on this phone? How do I find out?
Thanks a bunch--

You can request for a new device forum here
As for your second question, well if it gets it's own forum, then there will likely be some sort of development.
cross your fingers!

Why no separate section for Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001?

Hi All, especially moderators,
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001. When searching for the device on the search device text box, it does show S Plus, but then takes to S I9000 section.
The hardware of Samsung Galaxy S I9000 and Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001 are different.
Why XDA doesn't have a separate section for Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001?
Please help.

Second time i've found that section for somebody recently!
Same here! Thanks DirkGently.

forum for Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE (SGH-I757M)

I was not sure who to contact in this case so i decided to post here. Is it possible to create a new forum for the Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE (SGH-I757M). The reason i am asking is because there is actually no forum for this device. Just are a few posts scattered in the Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 > Galaxy S II General section which can be very misleading. I think it would be beneficial in this case as there are a few people already working on the CM9 and CM10 roms plus it has been visited by thousand. Yes i agree not near as many as some devices (Galaxy S3) but as you can see there are people visiting the few posts every day.
Sincerely Gentledroid
any ideas who i may need to contact?

How to report mis-spelled "Top Forum Discussions" link?

"Unofficial CM 13 for Samsung Galaxy S4 SD-600 Based Variants"
Links to a Galaxy s3 thread, not s4. Confused the <heck> outta me for a bit, why was this tab open? Huh?It Seems to be for my device, galaxy S4 with SD 610, but says s III? I'm a bit new to posting, so have no idea the proper place for this.

[Q] note 3 or s5

Dunno if this is in the right section but I have an opportunity to get a Samsung galaxy s5 or a Samsung galaxy note 3. I currently have the s5 on loan from my friend but want to know from your guys experience which phone you guys like better as I am in need of another used phone. (Long Story why I can't get a new one). This phone must last me a few years or more.
There's a dedicated thread for such questions here,

So I will close this one. :good:

[Completed] XDA is missing the Samsung Galaxy Tab A, 7.0, 8.0 and 9.7

Was planning on purchasing the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 tablet from either Swappa or T-Mobile. I wanted to research the rooting process and such before committing to the sale.
I've searched high and low and everywhere in between, there doesn't seem to be a forum for this device. The site also seems to be missing the Galaxy Tab E as well. I found the Tab , Tab 2, Tab 3, Tab 4, Pro, S, and S2.
Thanks
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA assist.
Yes there aren't any forums for the devices you have mentioned. However this may be because the device has been considered as a 'low-activity' device. This means you will have to use threads found in general forums like 'miscellaneous development'. We do understand the inconvenience of not having a organised forum compared to most devices, but this was a decision from the admins.
