How did you get Viper for the Mini???

I think you have usb issues. You should either try working from a fresh install of Windows or Ubuntu from disc.
Here are instructions for booting to Ubuntu from disc:

Dude. You have to use files intended for the mini. Install a recovery for the mini from here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m4ul and then flash the Rom again

First, you can try wiping system and data partitions prior to installing (don't wipe sd card), but I think you need to update your firmware to install sense 6 Roms.
To do that you'll need to s-off first. Revone might work for you and rumrunner should work.
Or you can try installing this sense 5.5 rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50715903

Hello,
first of all, I have to say that Im a newbie.
I tried to install Cyanogenmod7 and think that I broke my phone,
but maybe u can help.
1. I installed the USB driver for Win7
2. I rooted my standard Desire GSM with unrevoked, using Clockworkmod recovery (I think it functioned)
3. Then I tried to install CM7, the installation was successful, but when I started my phone it hang in the bootscren with the blue androidguy and nothing went on.
4. A friend said that I have maybe to S-Off the Phone.. so I tried BUT: In step 3 of the Alpharev-software my Desire was frozen again.. I could not do anything and I knew that its maybe bricked. After 2 hours I decided to cut it off the computer.
Now it starts automatically in the Hboot 0.93 screen and i can use the Clockwork recover software. But when I try to install a ROM with the recoversoftware it doesnt function. I also tried to install that:
shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bravo/RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_T2_Radio_32.41.00.32U_4.08.00.09_release_137222_signed.exe
But it errors, too.
What shall I do? Is it broken?
Thanks for any help.

Okay, so I see that you used Unrevoked, however, did you also use unrevoked forever? If not, s-off hasnt been enabled. You must use Unrevoked Forever to allow custom ROM's.
After doing that, you can revert to stock by searching for "latest desire stock". Load that, then you can attempt ROM.
Unrevoked Forever installs like a .zip on the root of your card. Just go to the unrevoked site to grab the forever program. Place it in the root of the card, and then go into recovery and install.
Next, since you may not be able to access the phone, reboot and place the Cyanogenmod rom in the root of the sd card and go into recovery and install.
Let me know what happens.
Hi,

Okay,
I found the Bug from Alpharev:
*** Stuck on step 3 (phone is displaying progress) ***
There are several possibilities:
1. No output other than 'Normal/New NAND detected.' -> Nothing was flashed, restore your ROM and try again.
Please use AlphaRev using a stock ROM. No data2ext/whatever or other scripts that mount a SDext partition as /data.
Later versions than 1.8 will try to account for this. For now, use a stock ROM instead.

So I (foolishly) tried to root and flash the Android Revolution ROM onto my phone but as I should have expected, I failed.I have a plethora of problems, and I am not sure what my best course of action is:
so
1) I factory reset, so I have no recovery or ROM on my phone currently
2)My phone is in a bootloop (loads the HTC screen with a disclaimer saying "this build is for development... yadda yadda yadda" and then reboots
3)My phone will NOT powerdown, I have tried to power down my phone through bootloader, and it re"boots" and returns to bootloader once again.
4)I cannot flash any files from my PC to my phone, for example: When I try to flash boot_signed.img from the Rogers Evita Stock ROM, using
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img, I get an error message saying "FAILED <remote: signature verify fail>" and this occurs for all files I have tried to flash
5)I have tried using ARUWizard to try and get the stock ROM onto my phone with no avail. From reading the forums I believe it is because my phone is using version 1.94.631.3 but the ARUWizard can only update to previous versions which is not allowed? (I am still very confused about this) one alternative I found on the forums was to create something called a goldcard but that required a microSD card which my phone does not have capabilities for.
So this is my dilemma, I think I am thoroughly screwed... any help or advice would be appreciated
You should still have twrp recovery even if you factory reset. Reboot into twrp, mount sd, transfer over a Rom that will work, wipe all and flash

I go to recovery, and it just goes immediately back to bootloader :s
I suggest starting with this thread and see what results you get.
You flashed a ROM for a different device that has a different partition layout, and that ROM installer may have possibly wiped out your partitions and left the device unrecoverable except through a JTAG brick repair
Have you tried flashing twrp again?

If you're getting to the splash screen, you're not bricked. Don't start the unbricking stuff yet.
You need to get to bootloader and push a new recovery image. You probably screwed up your recovery partition when you flashed that Tegra 3 rom.
Once you've got recovery back, you just need to flash a correct rom.
If that doesn't work, try running a ruu from bootloader.

Before you do anything else, you should probably double check what phone you have.
Android Revolution HD (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562603) is NOT for the AT&T/Rogers One X or the Telstra One XL.
If you have an international One X, then you're in the wrong place. If you do have one of the phones listed above, then you need to go here and download one of those roms. Then flash using what The_Zodiac suggested.

Yessir, that'll work. (I've heard good things about that ROM, though I haven't tried it myself).
Just FYI, the One X on AT&T and Rogers is known internationally as the One XL, and as far as codenames go, is known as the Evita, as you pointed out. The international One X is the Endeavor, and ROMs are not cross-compatible. If you stay in the "AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL" sub-forums here, you should be alright.
What version of twrp are you using? Try rolling back to a 2.3.x version. 2.4.x seems to have some issues.

Okay, I think I am going to go to bed, and try to approach this problem tomorrow.
I am running TWRP 2.4.x so I may try and downgrade that tomorrow. I used adb to push the ROM to my phone and it is on my sdcard
However, when I try to install the ROM, it tells me that it failed... I tried clearing all caches etc but i keep getting the same errors. The weirdest part is that when I reboot my phone, the ROM disappears...

Your sdcard is indeed corrupted.

Walk through that guide using the files for the Evita on that page, it should fix your sdcard. After that you can go ahead and push the rom to the sdcard again and then reflash and see if that does the trick!

Hi guys,
My cousin from America came to visit yesterday, and he asked me if I could install CyanogenMod on his phone. It's an HTC One X from AT&T. So I set his CID to 111111, unlocked his bootloader with HTCDev, flashed TWRP 2.5.0.0 and then I rooted his phone. Afterwords, I did a backup via TWRP Recovery.
I looked for the CyanogenMod for this device and the stable build was cm-10.0.0-evita. I transfered it to the phone's TWRP folder, booted recovery and tried to install it but failed, the error message was: assert failed: getprop("ro.bootloader") == 2.1....and some more numbers and stuff
Stupid as I was, I thought "It's probably the stock ROM interfering with the installation, and I can always restore my backup" so I erased a couple of things from the phone: Dalvik Cache, Cache, Data, sdcard and System. Left Android Secure alone because I didn't know what it was or what it does.
Then it hit me. I formatted Data, my backup was gone! And so was the ROM I wanted to flash!
What do I do now? I don't have any operating system installed and can't boot into android! All I can do is boot into Recovery and Bootloader.
Here's what bootloader says:

It's ok, no need to panic
Download ROM to PC. Make doubly sure it's for this device, I think the error you experienced the first time was because you tried to flash an International One X ROM. Only get your ROMs from here, or here.
Boot into recovery.
Connect the phone to the PC.
Mount your sd/internal storage from your TWRP menu.
Copy ROM from PC to phone.
Wipe cache/dalvik/factory reset/system.
Flash ROM.
Reboot.
Enjoy.
Sent from my Evita
Alright, no problem, the error you got in TWRP was because you needed to have HBOOT 2.14 or above to install CM10.1 because of the kernel it uses. Never wipe /sdcard because it won't do you any good. Now, what you're gonna wanna do is, mount USB Storage in TWRP (under mount menu) when it's connected to your PC, download a ROM (not CM10.1 for now, we'll get to that soon enough) and make sure it's for this phone, drag and drop it to your phone from the PC, and flash it. Once you do that, if you still want to get CM10.1, we can help you with that too.
Edit: @timmaaa he won't be able to use CM10.1 because he's on hboot 1.09.
Your main problem, is that you are deleting/formatting things without having any clue what they are. This is an invitation for disaster. Your backups are deleted because your deleted the SD card, not because you deleted /data or /system.
/system = current ROM
/data = user data (phone storage), formatting is the same as factory reset
The only things that really need to be deleted when flashing a new ROM is /data (factory reset) and cache. Formatting /system is not necessary, as flashing a new ROM does this by default before installing the new ROM.
Connect the phone to your computer, mount USB in TWRP, and move the new ROM zip to the SD card, and flash from TWRP.
Its also a good idea to copy a backup to your computer or Dropbox. But that is probably not something that will help you at the moment. Just a bit of advice moving forward.
While in twrp, plug into your pc then go to mounts > mount usb storage. Then put whatever Rom on there. Make sure you get the right Rom for this device.
EDIT:
Oh wow just realized I was beat by like 3 people before I hit post lol

Then mount usb storage from twrp
Copy Rom to sd card
Wipe cache and dalvik
If you're not s-off depending on hboot version the boot image will need to be flashed via fastboot.
Boot into rom.
Good luck.
Edit: just saw your on 1.09 no need to flash boot image first.

Wow, thanks for the quick responses!
First of all, I can't mount SD card from TWRP. I can mount cache, data and System, but the checkbox nextto sdcard can't be clicked, stays unchecked. I can mount USB Storage but my computer says it needs to format the drive to use it, and I'm using Windows not Linux.
Secondly, whenever i try to flash openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.0-evita.img with adb fastboot it says "The filename, directory name, or volume syntax is incorrect".
What do I do? :S
Also, after I've done this, what ROM do you suggest I download to flash, given my bootloader and situation?

You must have done a factory reset from bootloader, which has corrupted your storage. So, mount usb storage then format it using Windows to fat32 format.
The error you're encountering while trying to flash recovery is most likely because you're giving adb incorrect or mistyped command. To make it easier on yourself, rename the recovery zip file on your pc to something simple like "twrp.img" then issue the following command exactly:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

You can flash pretty much any Sense ROM, and most aosp ROMs (just not the ones with the 3.4 kernel).

I did :S Thought it would help...

Thanks, it worked! I can mount sdcard now!
What's the next step?

Now you can flash any ROM you want as long as it isn't AOSP with 3.4 kernel. Unless you really want the 3.4 ROM, but then you'd first have to s-off and then run the RUU to 3.18.
The next step after what? What exactly have you achieved so far?

Would this work? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230754
Or can you link me any ROM that would work for me, please?

Yeah, that would work. It's a little outdated, but it should work just fine.

Well, I can now access the sdcard/internal storage on my PC when I connect the cable in TWRP Recovery. I just need a ROM.
i have a tmobile htc sensation 4g.. i have been trying to get to where i can flash custom roms
i have successfully got the hboot to say unlocked
the hboot is 1.27
i have been trying to get it to s-off.. i was following hansoons all in one kit and successfully got twrp installed.. but no s-off and i can't flash a custom rom.. i have found all kinds of different guides for this.. somehow i may have messed up my stock rom.. because it would boot back to the android os but i could only see the status bar at the top nothing else..
i have adb correctly set up on my computer.. i'm running windows 7
i was trying to flash back to stock rom so i could continue the controlbear part of the set up with virtualbox and ubuntu
i was able to flash the stock rom with twrp AND hboot fastboot via the cmd line in windows.. but each time it will not full load.. just shows the status bar.. i have no idea what to do.. i'm still s-on also.. and haven't been able to get 4ext or clockwork installed either.. just twrp..
i need someone to help walk me through this correctly. any and all help always appreciated
edit:: i found the kgs utility.. and it seems to have installed clockwork somewhow, and i tried to reflash the stock rom with it.. same results.. so i went back to bootloader and continued kgs utility and it directed me to controlbear website to get the windows ics zip.. but i can't find the zip on the website.. i'm still s-on

thank you for your reply.
ok, i was able to get the windows version of control bear but when i copy it to the kgs utility/tools folder and run the s-off part of the program i get a md5 mismatch or no file found error..
also the link to the rumrunner program gave a list of devices.. the sensation 4g was not in the list.. however i tried anyway as it is stated as being a 'universal' program.. but it wants me to be in android with usb debugging enabled.. i cannot get into android . it just shows the status bar.. nothing else..i can however get into hboot and use fastboot usb
EDIT::: I ran rumrunner from android where it was showing just the status bar.. i thought maybe usb debugging would still be selected (since i couldn't get to it) .. and it was apparently because the program worked, and i am now in hboot with s-off.. so rumrunner was the cure all.. and the simplest..
now, apparently my recovery is still just twrp.. how can i go about flashing clockwork or preferrably, 4ext (i have both of the img files for these on my hdd), so that i can flash ordroid rom
EDIT::: I was able to get 4ext properly flashed with kgs utility at this point. i was also able to update my firmware to 3.33 from 3.32. i was not able to install OrDroid 50 (1 gig?) with 4ext. I get: E: Can't open /sdcard/OrdDroid_50.1.0.zip (bad) Installation aborted. No idea why. I ran the fix permissions and the check file system and formatted the sdcard and toggled usb storage (in 4ext) and recopied ordroid.. no change. do i need to put the sdcard in a micro card reader and copy it that way?
EDIT::: I removed the sdcard and copied the rom via an sdcard reader.. same result.. i also tried the latest cyanogen 11 rom.. it didn't work either.. not sure what to do next any help would be appreciated.
update 4ext recovery to the latest version
http://www.4shared.com/zip/WnSyLWMaba/4EXT_Recovery_Touch_v1006_RC3_.html
extract the recovery.img and flash it via fastboot command
the command is fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
after that fastboot reboot bootloader
then try to flash the rom again
by the way it was showing you the status bar because you were still running temproot.bat file for the S-OFF procedure
that's why you couldn't boot to the android OS
thank you
how do you 'get out' of temproot.bat?
i did what you said and the cm 11 rom installed (without any setup questions?) and the gapps zip .. but i got the same message on ordroid 50.. i will post in that thread for that. thank you for your help.

hey, i took your advice and started verifying checksums.. (i really didn't know what it was before, but it took like 2 minutes to find out what it was and how to do it. anyways, the ordroid checksum verified successfully.. so no telling what caused the "(bad)" installation. not a big deal... because when i checked out your specs in your signature i discovered the venom viper rom.. WOW! .. so, i'm definitely using that now.. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!! AND THANKS FOR PUTTING THE VIPER ROM IN YOUR SIGNATURE SO I COULD FIND IT~! my thing is customizing what i have.. and this seems to be designed just for that... so THANK YOU!!! :cyclops::cyclops::cyclops:

That thread said you need linux, I have a Surface Pro and can't dual boot, so not sure how to run a linux distro? I have made some progress, I was able to pull rom.zip from an RUU and rename that to 2PQ9IMG.zip and put it on the root of my sdcard. When I rebooted into download mode much to my surprise the RUU ran and was successful. So I reinstalled twrp, but it STILL will not let me wipe data to remove encryption. My /data is unmountable, and every time I try to do a wipe in twrp it returns the error "unable to mount storage". Twrp is also still giving me the "No OS Installed" message when I go to reboot. Is there another way to remove encryption without using linux? Or a way I can setup linux on my Surface? I just need to get root so I can s-off...

Boot patcher failed, like just about everything I try, and returned with an "unable to mount storage" error. I'm stumped. I think it's weird that an official RUU fails with "os-version in Android-file is missing or invalid" error but rom.zip pulled from an official RUU goes through just fine.
If want get root , device boot into twrp "Wipe/Format Data" then back to "Reboot/recovery" install root.zip.
Sorry my bad english!!

There was a bug in twrp 3.0.0. The last release is: Current Stable Version: 3.0.0-1
Install the last release and then try in twrp :Wipe/Format Data. Hope it will work for you...
