I am having galaxy sl I9003 since 3 years and want to try a new ROM on it. I had tried rooting and flashing a new ROM when my phone was in warranty, but after flashing Clockwork mod I didn't got what happened. It started, opened up a home screen and again restarts. Then after showing in service centres they changed motherboard and after that I never tried installing other ROM.
My phone is having
firmware version 2.3.6
Baseband version I9003DDLE1
Kernel version 2.6.35.7 - 1236430 [email protected] 161 # 1 Mon Jun 3 19:08:45 KST 2013
Build number GINGERBREAD.DDMF1
Please help me in rooting and flashing on my Galaxy SL i9003 and suggest me a stable ROM(wherein after doing root and flashing, occurrence of errors are negligible) that would work all the functions of my device as it was working on Gingerbread firmware. Please provide me step by step procedure.
Thank you

Then don't use the ROM if you don't know what you are doing.
Pick a ROM with a good tutorial on how to install it, so you don't have to make a thread asking for help with your bricked device.

Hi, first of all, thank you all for the work you do here and so invaluable assistance to users like me.
My question is this:
I have a GT I9000 SGS GingerBread XWJVZ v2.3.6 Open EUR [kernel semaphore v2.1.1]
Can i upgrade the kernel version to 2.4.0 or is reserved to JW1?
From what I read in the post (in which I can not now ask this question) is reserved for GingerBread not for the particular version, but if you were kind enough to confirm I'd appreciate it.
Much improvement over the v2.1.1 with which I am very happy?
Thank you again.
Please..

Hi TamratAK, I'll post a link for a thread that will help you with that.

CM11 downgrade
Hi Guys,
I have question connected with that topic.
I had CM9 (20131005) with CWM 5.X.X.X (don't remember detailed number). And flashed SGS4G to CM11 (20140623) with TWRP.
How to swich back to any other ROM, I've tried to flash CM9 and CM10.
Both with same results - failed on begginig (after 2 sec).
I've tried Heimdall One-Click Collection to revert it back to stock, but here I also had a problem, everything goes OK till connection, phone is in download mode but cannot connect. I have the newest java 1.7.0_45 and VS2010
Any idea how to flash another rom?
Thank in advance!
Try the one click again except try with different USB ports or different USB cables.
I have one cable that will never flash for me and one that only works on certain ports. Find a usb cable and port combination that works for you and always use that.
Once you're on gingerbread with CWM5 you'll be able to flash back to CM9/10
Thank you FB!
Another computer, another cable and worked perfectly.
Now I'm on CM10.
It could be cable fault.
I was using cable bundled with my HOX.
Cable bundled with BB worked.
Technology is awesome when it works properly . I'm glad you're on a working setup now
