ROM now available: Stock deodexed, !Knox, no CIQ (if exists) T-Mo Note Edge - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I do not know if/when we will see a T-Mobile Edge dedicated forum, but I think a great place to start is a rooted base ROM that is deodexed, Knox/CIQ removed. This will allow the theming and other mods to begin. At some point, I would like to see a lean kernel for it, but I'm not holding my breath.
For the ROM, I have been reading up on extracting the ROM from the device and the deodex process. I am posting this request in case someone who has done the extract/deodex/!Knox in the past and can get it done before I get around to it. Posting it in the Android Dev forum would be a big help to many I'm sure.
For laughs, I'll pledge $10 via PayPal to someone who posts a T-Mobile Edge ROM that is deodexed/!Knox/slightly tuned (sort of l like what Jovy23 does with his stock ROMs) by the EOD 12/04/14.
Update: Please see this post. I just uploaded the ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/development/rom-t-mobile-sm-915t-rooted-stock-t2959522

Update:
I managed to deodex the ROM. I am working on making it flashable (having some issues combining/extracting both CWM and TWRP files). Once I can resolve that issue, I will disable Knox and the "base" ROM should be good to go....

Update 2:
I now have a T-Mobile Note Edge NJL ROM that is deodexed and Knox free ready to upload. I am waiting for AndroidFileHost to approve my dev account so I can upload it. I've tested it on both TWRP and CWM.

Why wouldn't you be able to wipe cache? You can do that using TWRP or CWM. The download link is above.

Can you link me to the recovery your using the one I have says something about not mounting cache I used the recovery from the root tutorial

[Q] Which version of Clockworkmod to use?

I'm sure my phone is rooted with one-click as Rom Manager does not display a warning about not be rooted.
I've tried all the versions of CWM except ATT, etc., and none of them will allow me to do anything but reboot my phone.
What am I missing? I've read far and wide and can't find an answer regarding the correct CWM. Is it just not possible to do?
Thanks for any guidance. And again I appreciate the helpfulness of this forum.

Please pay some attention to the very forum you are posting in. As has been widely discussed, CWM is not out yet for the Sidekick 4g. It is being worked on in the post directly adjacent to yours:

Also, questions go in the general forum, not the development forum.

you should install cwm manually, it isn't very hard and the instructions are in the cwm thread

It works with a temp CWM. Not much more hassle than having a fully installed CWM, and it works. I used the steps in this thread:

This thread is old.
Try flashing the Bali or Platypus kernel and use red (voodoo) cwm.
Even on a stock rom, you should be using a third party kernel.
The dirty little secret around here is that switching out the kernel is the heart and soul of the every custom hosted here. The customs are basically rethemed touchwiz, with some apps switched out, and a few scripts. But, the real difference maker is the kernel.

Thank you. I posted in this thread because it seemed most relevant. Which kernel do you recommend?

Currently on UCLB3 2.3.6 - How do I flash a custom ROM or kernel?

I did do a lot of searching around but it's information-overload and 99% of what I've read is for folks who are on something older than UCLB3.
So every time I find something that looks like it works and spend time reading it, I discover it doesn't work for UCLB3. VERY frustrating!
I can't figure out how to root UCLB3. Looks like nobody knows how to yet.
How do I get a custom ROM & kernel on here? I'd like to use Entropy's DD and a rooted stock ROM or something reliable.
Just got the phone today and it has 2.3.6 UCLB3 on it.
I have Windows so I can't use the Heimdall approach which seems to be for Linux or Apple.
I am famliar with ODB though.
edit: Currently trying to figure out how to get CWM installed so I can flash an unsecured kernel. Which should then get me the ROM's I want.
Which seems to be a "gotcha" since it looks like you need root to install CWM or you need to odin old kernel on top of the new one, which I'm worried may brick things.
edit #2: Found out you can use the Windows version of Heimdall. Didn't know there was one. Then I used this (second half of first post) to install red CWM. It soft bricked my phone but I don't care since I'm flashing something else.

I'm going to be repeating a few things already offered here, so please bear with me... If your goal is a Samsung Infuse with rooted UCLB3 do the following:
1 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524081
1a - Since you are already on UCLB3, you can probably skip the first Heimdall and go right to post #2 - this will get you "red" CWM which will allow you to load unsigned CWM zip packages. (Main reason to do the first step is to lay down a good partition table, install a clean rom, and flash the gingerbread bootloaders).
2 - Copy rooted UCLB3 rom to your internal SD Card (not the external one). Create a folder called "!ROM!" so that it shows up first in CWM and then copy roms and other install packages there.
2a - Here's Dman's rooted, deodexed, zipaligned UCLB3 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1508619
2b - If you want the stock kernel, download and copy both files linked in the first post, otherwise just the first one.
2c - If you want to keep "red" CWM (recommended) and also have video and hdmi work, copy Entropy's latest kernel to your sdcard (PM me if you want a CWM package as there is no official CWM package as of yet). Otherwise, once rooted you will need to unzip the 7z linked here, copy zimage to your sdcard, download SGS Kernel Flasher from the market and use that app to flash the kernel. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24459243&postcount=448
3 - Next, power off phone and boot recovery using three finger technique (Vol+/Vol-/Power, release power when bottom lights go on, hold volume keys until you get red CWM).
3a - Do the following - wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, advanced-wipe dalvik cache, back to main..mounts-format system
3b - From main menu, install zip, choose zip, pick your rom and flash
3c - If you have the Entropy MHL kernel, flash this next.
3d - When done, go back and reboot
4 - Let the phone boot and then let sit for 5 min or so, then go through the initial setup process
4a - Open apps drawer, run SuperUser and update binaries - this will also confirm that you have root.
4b - Open Google market, upgrade to Play, download any utility apps you need
4c - If you are going back to the stock kernel, download SGS Kernel, copy zimage to your sdcard, and flash (note that if you do this you will lose the ability to flash other custom roms, and would have to redo qkster's CWM Heimdall)
5 - Reboot and enjoy.
If you want to explore further, here is a page with other roms listed (note that some of the info applies to froyo and some to non-ATT Infuses so read with care):

cz,
that was the whole heimdall 1click idea. post #1 - rom and restore if needed.
post #2: cwm recovery to flash custom rom.
if you want root stock, dman has made a uclb3 base, deoxdex, rooted and zipaligned. you would flash that in cwm and then flash entropy newest kernel to give you everything.
that is how you would have a rooted stock uclb3...but why would you when there is vagabond..

[ROOT] Straight Talk: Samsung Galaxy Centura

It's been successfully rooted with POOT.
It has also been rooted via CWM by Area51 Here for CWM and then Here for Root! I did find some ROM development going on at Area51 as well here. Area51's CWM does not appear to play nice with any phone rooted with Poot however so it's best to install CWM from Area51 first and then use their root method.

The root method used at A51 is out-of-date, and can't be updated. Therefore, you'll continuously receive an update notification and won't be able to stop it.

Not True! All you have to do is just not install the update when it boots you into CWM. This will be fixed when they complete the ROM they're working on. I don't get update reminders after accepting the first one and just not installing it once in recovery mode at the install screen!

You might want to wait for Area51 to complete their first ROM for the phone. Currently it has an annoying update that keeps trying to install over the rooted stock OS that will break root if you install it. Of course you can just keep clicking on accept and then selecting NO when you get to the install update screen in CWM like I do, but it's an annoyance.

So before starting let me clear who are new here, This ROM is leaked ROM from samsung and not officially released, yet it won't raise flash counter, But It is WIPE ROM, so flashing YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR DATA FROM DEVICE INCLUDING INT SD CARD.
Also to make clear no meaning to complaining about features not working and battery draining too much (actually it's better than MG1 in my point of view) ot this and that, I have injected Root + Busybox, rest of ROM is as it is as from what we have got. But of course friendly discussion are always welcome but NO Trolling please.
Don't expect any mod / to add mod in this thread as i earlier said this is simple prerooted ROM and no planning to add anything. of course if possible will try to make some mods, but really didn't get time to explore complete features yet, even since y'day it's on my device. But really after seeing @wanam 's Xposed module there is little we have remain to add.
Installation :
- Download and Extract to Prerooted.tar.md5 and Simply flash using Odin with PDA tab. Image for reference and text file along with Odin packed in zip.
File have tar.md5 and odin will check it by default f md5 is incorrect before flashing will start, no need to asking md5 check.
Download
N7100_N7100XXUEM16_N7100XXEM16_N7100XAEM16_Prerooted
For Deodexed ROM Look THIS
Recommendation :
- Make EFS backup before flashing and keep to safe place on PC/Cloud.
- If you want to use Mobile Odin, Don't select 'ever root' option
Creadits : As usual to @Chainfire for his SuperSU
@BSDgeek_Jake for his Host file

My all Prerooted ROMs are having only Root + Busybox + Samsung ROM as it is, nothing more or less.
Don't expect any modding in this ROM.

dr.ketan , system status shoud be official like it was in prerooted 4.1.2 with stock kernel and stock recovery ?
BTW dr. What do you recommend for flashing
Pc odin (3.07 is ok?) or mobile odin

@dr.ketan Just a question. I am currently stucked with Omega v16 because whenever I flashed a latest ROM the IMEI got corrupted and I can no longer use my note2 as a phone. So I ended up flashing a custom ROM this and that. Yes I have read your threads about this issues but my question is...flashing this leaked 4.3 ROM..is my device safe from getting the issue that I have described?

I recommend PC Odin
But If you use mobile odin, then don't select 'ever root' option otherwise chances are there you may lose root.

says there are compatibility issues. installation does not. I downloaded different versions, but it happens. I've got another Note2 4.1.2 installed but see it. There is no problem in it. 4.3 built by me rum, but does not see the leak.
Quick question dude: any news on downgrading to DMG1? Does it mess up efs or anything? I have an efs backup but I'd rather not have to restore it already as I've only had my note for 5 weeks now
Other than that glad to see you've got it pre rooted! If there arent downgrading issues I will flash this ASAP
