[Q] Transferred Texts - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I switched over from an iPhone 4S and transferred over my old text messages, but now if I message any of those contacts, my incoming and outgoing messages appear in separate threads. This does not happen for new conversations, but I don't want to have to delete all my old messages for it to show up properly. Has anyone else had this issue?

I had an issue(Switching from my M8) Where my old texts got restored like they were new. It looked like New > Old > Newest in my texts.
Try using an app like sms backup and restore to backup > delete > and restore again

My SMS messages are automatically deleting

I am not sure what is going on. I am using the regular SMS with Windows 6.1. My text messages size keeps staying for contacts (I am using threaded messaging) at 0K. Whenever it gets past that it deletes older messages. But today I have seen my latest messages being deleted. What is going on? Thanks I really appreciate it.

[Q] Messages being split into incoming/outgoing threads

I replied to a post about this a while ago but haven't been able to find it since. I transferred from an iPhone and now when I sent messages to some contacts (some of which are iPhone users, some not) that I have transferred messages from, the incoming and outgoing messages appear in separate threads. This does not happen when I start new conversations with people I don't have any saved/transferred messages from (yet). Is there a way to fix this or merge them somehow?

Sent SMS sync issue

Hi, just bought a new ATT S7, running 6.01.
For years, i have run SMS Backup + to sync texts to my gmail account. Love it.
On my new S7, this app does not recognize/sync SMS texts sent from the phone. If i use Google now to dictate "send message to xxx saying yyy" ...that text composed that way gets sync'd. But one that is typed or dictated in the messaging app does NOT.
Sent SMS texts are NOT sync'd either using Exchange activesync. Recvd texts sync fine.
I also use MightyText and sent texts from the phone do not show up in the app. If i send a text from the MightyText web app, it usually will sync via SMS Backup +.
I have reached out to both vendors for assistance.
i have changed my keyboard from Samsung kybd to Google keyboard. no luck.
Anyone seeing anything like this?
I turned off "Advanced Messaging" and it seems to take longer to Send the SMS from the phone, and the message will intermittently sync with the various apps (Sms backup +, MightyText.) But not always.
make sure your apn info is correct for SMS / MMS

Keeping ADV messaging disabled seems to do the trick.

Old message notifications

I have a problem with my messaging app. I get text messages from my contacts, which I can reply to with no problems, but randomly, I'll get a notification for 99+ new messages. If I swipe down on the notifications, most of them are old messages, some new, and the majority are notifications from Amazon regarding something being shipped, from UPS, FedEx, Google Authentication, mostly messages that aren't from a phone number. For example, the notifications from Amazon are from +262966. Amazon, in particular has (55) next to the notification, which means I have 55 unread messages, but when I select any of them, it brings me to the messaging app, but none of them show up in the messaging app. I've selected the drop down menu next to the notification and selected "Mark as Read," but after an hour or so, they all come back. When I got the S8+, I selected to backup all my messages to the AT&T Messages Backup & Sync, so I could restore all my messages to my new S8+. After restoring them, I kept the AT&T Messages Backup & Sync enabled just in case something were to happen to my phone, and I was receiving all these new texts. Then I disabled it, but I still receive all these new texts. I'm wondering if there's a way to access these messages and delete them forever since I don't need them anymore. It's very frustrating to get 99+ notifications, but I can't view these messages anywhere and have no idea where they're coming from. Anyone have any suggestions?
It's probably from Samsung backup when you logged in

Queries & help regarding various sms apps(or am I missing something)

Hi,
I recently changed my phone & used sms backup & restore to restore the sms on my new phone.I found out that manufacturer sms app was unable to show all the sms(1000 to be precise) in a very long thread.I tried textra & yaata with same result. However next sms was able to correctly show it. After some troubleshooting I decided to install google/android messages & made it the default sms app after which it also correctly synced to show me the 1000 sms in that long thread. After again switching over to my manufacturer sms app(& then yaata) I found out that they also now successfully show this long thread but textra still doesn't.
Is this the normal behaviour of sms app where if there are such large threads/conversations with 1000+ sms(only text no mms) then one needs to first install android messages & after that only other sms app can correctly sync to show such large threads & next sms is just an exception?
Is there any issue with using handcent next sms(like some privacy/security concern) as I saw that it was suspended from playstore for some time a few years back? I am currently using it without login/tencent account & intend to keep using sms backup & restore to take backup of sms.
Is there any other sms app(free only) that can always display the total no. of sms in a thread(like yaata & next sms) in conversations list(textra also shows it but only on sliding the conversation to right which I don't want)?
Lastly,is there any sms app that can remember the sim/number on which sms was originally received(e.g.dual sim phone sms A & sms B received on sim 1 & sms C received on sim 2) & when taking backup/restoring on another phone with same 2 sims then after restore it still shows/remembers sms A & B received on sim 1 & sms C received on sim 2.
