i have deleted xbin folder in system/xbin path - General Topics

Please Help I have deleted xbin folder in system/xbin in my samsung gts5303 and now i want to again root my samsung gts5303 but it is not rooting now.Firstly i have rooted it with Root Master android app but now when i m trying to reroot it with Root Master app it shows Sucessfully Rooted and also installs supersu app but not installs binary becouse binary is installed in system/xbin folder and i have deleted it.
and an unknown folder sbin is added in /sbin. and it is empty i have no root acess but when i m deleting it it is sucessfully deleted but when i comeback to / path it is added again
Now i m requesting you to please solve this problem and give me any app by which i can add xbin folder again in system/ with out root.and with out pc because i have not any pc...
thanks in advnce...

I hope you have a nandroid back up, otherwise it is going to be really hard to do with out a PC handy.

You will not be able to add File or folder in system even 3rd party app will not be able to write on system folder without root permission so try to full unroot the phone then again try to root so there is a chance of reinstalling binary again anyway don't you have nandroid backup?

how can i do nandroid backup

com.google.process.gapps force close !?

Hello,
I have rooted my X10 and I have R2BA020 and I have removed some apps with Titanium, nothing like Mediascape or Timescape. I have removed Moxier, GTalk, Quadrapop and user manuals. Obviusly I have uninstalled something that I shouldnt ( me IDIOT didnt make backup of those apps in Titanium !! ). Now whenever I start my phone I get this message that it has failed to start and I must press Force close. I have found some solution that I delete data from Google Apps and Gmail in Settings -> Applications but it seems to work one time because when I entered my data again in Gmail I got it again when I boot my phone.
Please, can anybody help me ? Maybe give me GTalk and other app that was below it as .apk so I can install it ?
Tnx a lot !
Removing GTalk was a terrible idea.
I see that now I have found X10 dump and installed Talk.apk and gtalkservice.apk and I got GTalk icon but when I press it I get that message again. I dont get it when I go in Gmail or Market, they are working.
Any other help, please ?

You have to push them to /system/app, not just installed regularly
Ok, thanx. How do I do that ? I really have no idea how to do this, I have installed them only like any other .apk.
Thank you very much !
Assuming you put the two apks on your sdcard..
Code:
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtd2 /system
dd if=/sdcard/gtalkservice.apk of=/system/app/gtalkservice.apk
dd if=/sdcard/Talk.apk of=/system/app/Talk.apk
chmod 644 /system/app/Talk.apk
chmod 644 /system/app/gtalkservice.apk
reboot
I put them on root of SD card right ?
Only one last thing, how and where should I copy&paste those commands ? Can you please tell me step by step, I would really appreciate it because I dont want to flash my phone again. Connect the phone on my PC and then Start -> Run or how ? I can see that you are professional and it is very hard for me to understand how to do this.
Thank you SO MUCH !
Android terminal app, YOU NEED NOT WORRY ABOUT THE COMMANDS BUT CAN MANUALLY COPY THE INSTALLED APP FILE FROM sdcard/gtalkservice.apk TO SYSTEM/APP/ ENABLING R/W OPTION TOP LEFT IN ROOT EXPLORER.
I need terminal app on my phone or on my PC ? Here:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.android.term
Manually copy this Talk.apk and gtalk.apk file to system/app ? How can I do that ? I dont know how to enter system/app folder on my phone ? Also those read-write permissions, where do I change that ? Can I do it with Astro File Manager ?
Please explain me like to an idiot coz Im not far from that
And on the end, should I uninstall Talk.apk and other one first since I have installed them just like regular .apk app ?
Is this Root Explorer that I need:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer
Tnx a million !
I go in this Root Explorer and cannot copy Talk.apk from SDCard to system/app, it says that file system is read only. When I long press on Talk.apk in SDCard and go in Permissions there is no tick in User row, only in Group, then I tick Read and Write and OK but when I press ok ticks are gone again and I cannot copy that in system/app folder then.
Please guide me how to do it.

I have typed this in Better Terminal and apps have installed in system/app and they have permissions there but I still cannot get in GTalk on my phone, I get the sam error ? Is there any extra steps to make it work ? I have checked them in Root Explorer to see if they have R/W permissions.
Tnx a lot

They need to be signed with the same signature as the system afaik. You'll need GTalk and the other app from an x10 build.
I have downloaded Talk.apk and gtalkservice.apk from X10 dump. What do I need more ? I think I will have to flash the phone again since obviusly there is no solution for this...
Tnx
Hey,
I had the same pb and the code on the 1st page worked for me.
Put those 2 .apk files on the root folder of your sdcard.
Write the code on 1st page in Better Terminal. Reboot and you're done !
Good luck
Nope, I have tried it but nothing happened with those last 2 chmod commands and I have reflashed my firmware again and not touching GTalk app
Tnx for the info
Hey guys,
I just rooted my phone, and haven't removed ANY of the google apps and I'm getting this same error... Any ideas?
X
wouldn't hurt to try a re-root
I get also same error, even i've not removed Gtalk. Gtalk works properly
i found these apps so that the error is not repeated all the apps should moved to system/app folder using 644 permissions
i have attached the files at the end
Removed Gtalk
ok, so yesterday I was using Gtalk on my samsung captivate to chat with some friends, until i wanted to sign out and go onto another of my google accounts to chat with other people. but when i clicked sign out it simply closed the app then when i reopened it, it was still on my other account. well me being the impatient person that i am decided to use my root power and remove gtalk and try to reinstall it later.....WRONG.... now i keep getting an error... (com.google.process.gapps. has unexpectedly closed. well i though ill just factory reinstall getting rid of the error. so Now i cant download anything on android market to get the explorer back because i cant use 3rd party apps again because my settings.db was reset! so i need lots of help.. running Ubuntu 10.04 so that makes the process even harder for a noob like me -.- any help is appreciated in advance

Deleted Build.prop, now it copies to system root but wont show up !

Dear All,
First thankyou so much for the great forum we have here, I am using Huawei Ideos u8150, the fone is network locked so I played around, being a total noob I started with installing sdk, and rooted my fone using z4root, rooting was successful
No when I try to copy a modified build.prop to the systems folder in root explorer, the file is copies but is not visible, also I have deleted the original build.prop & I am afraid to reboot the fone,
can restoring the fone to factory settings solve this ? also how come I copy the file to system folder, it gets copied and I still cant see it ?
I have tried pushing the file using ADB command line but the device refuses to mount (persmission denied)
I would really be thankful to anyone who can guide a noob like me, if you dont this forum has enough reasons to love it already,
cheers !

Moderators if by any chance I have placed this query in the wrong part of forum, please let me know in which part I should raise it, thanks !
In the top right hand corner or left it should be a r/o button. If you push that to r/w which is read/write you will be able to copy the bp correctly. Don't forget to mount as r/o which is read only before you exit RE. Then reboot. If you made a backup which you should have done before modding the bp you will be ok to reboot. If anything goes wrong just do a restore. Also you can Redownload the current rom your on to your cpu. Then extract it to a folder on your desktop. Then browse threw all the folders untill you see the stock build prop. Copy&paste it to your sd and that's your stock build prop. Hope this helps. Good luck

thanks for the kind help, I have tried doing that, I have rooted it, the I click on the r/o button and then I did copy the new built.prop to systems folder, the copying process completes, doesnt report any error but still there is no file visible by the name of built.prop, I just cant find it, is it hidden ? or is it not being copied in the first place ? & thanks I would try to extract the stock built.prop, and copy it to the folder but I will do it as a last option till I dont find something else,
thanks a million for the help, would apprciate if you can point it what I am doing wrong

[Q] Re-installation System application

Hello,
I uninstalled (inadvertently) the system application DMClient on my ASUS Transformer.
I would like to re-install. How to.
I have a backup of this System Application (com.asus.dm.apk) but it doesn't want to install.
What is the solution ?
Thank you for your responses
(Sorry for my english but i'm french)
adb push it to system/app
Thank's for the reply, but i'm newbie. Can you be a little more... explicit, please.
This thread will show hoe to set up ADB
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071584
Once done put the file (com.asus.dm.apk) in the platform-tools folder
and run command
Code:
adb push <application_name>.apk /system/app
you could also try manually moving the file with Root explorer or any file management with root access to system/app to see if that work
The file com.asus.dm.apk is already on system/app but the application DMClient doesn't appear ine the Application list
Try this, not sure if it will work or not.
Navigate to where you have the app (system/app in this case)
long press on it to bring up the menu
choose "permission" and set to rw,r,r if not already set to that
now tap on it again to install the app
also when you say it's not showing up in Application list.
Are you refering to the app drawer? Cause it will not show up there.
You can find it in Settings>Applications>Manage application>All (if it's installed correctly)
I'm rooted. I have uninstalled it with UltimateBackup.
DMClient is (was) a ROM application.
I have tried to restaure it with Titanium Backup, then with Ultimate Backup without success (the restore process begin but never end).
I'm very dispointed because without this application, i can't access to OTA Firmware updates.
if anybody have an idea !!!
Thank
Well if you have CWM you could flash the latest OTA update from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409584
Flashing with a new firmware seems to be an heavy solution for only one file missing.
In system/app, i have DMClient.ODEX and com.asus.dm.apk instead of having DMClient.ODEX and DMClient.apk

You have most probably messed the systemUI.apk which is located in /system/app or files associated with it. Did you remove any other apk's in which you weren't sure what it does?
In this case, Factory reset won't work because it just wipes user data and /system partition remains in tact. The nearest possible thing to do is to flash a stock ROM if exists or copy the deleted apk's borrowing from some one else's phone and place those apk's in /system/app partition setting the correct permission.
I remember exactly what I deleted. I I uninstalled Dhingana.com, Facebook and Rail yatra. I cannot start third party apps though I can install them. So I am not sure how to place the systemUI.apk in the directory /system/app. Can it be done through inbuilt file manager?

Nope, I guess not possible through default file manager. You have to use ES File Explorer File Manager or Root Explorer to place it in /system/app and change its permissions to rw-r-r.

Make sure you've mounted the /system partition as R/W before attempting to Copy or setting permissions.

Chinese Phone running Android 4.2 - Malware built in, cant delete despite root

It took me a while to figure out that the bast**ds had built in the malware in the firmware, with the launcher. Phone is rooted, and I have changed the launcher. But I can't delete the malware apks inside system/app.
They are named as com.google.hardware.ext0.apk, and another similarly named (android air, and measure too)..
Problem is, I can't delete them, I tried using ES File Explorer (yes, root is enabled. I can delete, change other files in system/app but for this) I am denied permission!!
Then I tried the terminal emulator.. after getting SU.. tried deleting them using RM and then 'busybox rm..' both failed. What to do? How to delete the f****ng malware files??
(If I switch on the WiFi, malware automatically downloads more crap, then I can't even switch off Wifi and Data! Hence I formatted the phone and have not entered any sim or wifi settings... but I can't delete the damn files!! Any suggestions please?? Going crazy here)
regards
If you could install a custom recovery to flash a zip that delete this app...
Try a Root System App Deleter or, boot in recovery mode and remove it via ADB
