Hi just as the title says. i am trying to tether rooted Samsung Galaxy S4 to rooted shield tablet (wifi) via the OTG cable. i prefer to tether over USB than over WiFi. i have sprint so i couldn't get the shield table LTE. so is there a way this can be accomplished or am i out of luck. Thx in advance
Do you have tethering in your plan? If so, at least give the wifi tethering a shot. Make the phone a Hotspot then connect the tablet to that hotspot.

I just bought a used nexus s. It is from the telus network in canada. The phone came with 4.1.1. Bootloader was locked and phone was not rooted. When I tried to setup the wifi at home, the phone would only say connecting then say saved, secured wit WEP. It will not connect. I have iphone 4s htc evo 3d and four laptops and a samsung galaxy tablet and they all connect without issue. I have read hundreds of comments on this forum. I rooted and unlocked bootloader, tried different roms, reverted back to ics and then to 2.3.6. Every rom and version will not connect to wifi. The networks is visible in my wifi setting and has a good signal. Wifi appears to be working at least on some level. I am stuck and need help.

check your settings, especially password settings, some wifi uses WEP security, some others use the newer WPA or WPA2 security, make sure your settings are correct. also, press the menu button, select advanced, and tick off avoid poor connections. and this should fix your problem.
I recently purchased a Galaxy Note 3. When trying to watch videos from certain sites such as (xvideos) I am not allowed via network. It pauses briefly then an error 504 gateway timeout shows up. But I have no problem via wifi. Only certain adult sites have this issue. I also bought a LG G2 and I have no issues with that device. Any ideas??.... Thanks in advance

I'm having this same issue since I just bought my galaxy note3, now my s4 works fine and when I had my note 2 it wrk also but note on my note3 and I only have this issue with xvideos

Anyone else able to tether via usb and get Internet. I was able to do this with my galaxy s5 no problem, however, that crapped out so I upgraded to the S7 (SM-G930A) and now tethering for Internet is not possible. Anyone else having this problem.?
usb tethering is like the hotspot now it's part of a plan you have to pay for unfortunately. Some people said they uswd fox-fi to do it but I had no such luck.

So I received my answer to this the other day. The Samsung rep I spoke with at Best Buy thought I was asking to be able to have my computer see my phone, he insisted everything was fine, he even reflashed it for me. My AT&T rep had the answer, oddly enough. AT&T no longer allows computers to get Internet via no usb no phone tether. Now it's hi WiFi only. Looks like it's time to find the modem knit strings and fire up wvdial again!
So, if you're with AT&T and can't usb tether, you now know why!

Sorry, just noticed the model number. I'd be interested to know if the G935F or G935FD would have the same issue?
I was able to play around with the phone using wvdial, and it shows a modem present! However, said modem disappears as soon as USB tethering is enabled. Further, wvdialconf is able to determine the correct Init strings for the modem, and it even connects, however it drops the connection within 10 seconds with an error code stating the other side isn't responding. I'll see if I can work further on this and get it to go online.

Does anyone own both he unlocked HTC U11 and a Samsung S8 or S8+? If you do, would you be able to check which phone has a better dBm reading for data reception for AT&T.

Great. You can use an app called LTE Discovery or in the settings go to about phone and from there you can find the signal strength.

So as the title say i'm locked to 50mb/s download at my wifi home whilst i can go up to 80-90 mb/s on my pc deskop.
Is there something wrong?

No issue here. Is your desktop hardlined compared to your phone on wifi? Did you try resetting your router? Reset network settings on your phone? Reset entire phone? There is a lot of troubleshooting you could do to try resolving.
Thanks. I somehow managed to get my full Download speed by switching to the 5GHZ signal
Are you on 2.4ghz or 5ghz? Your speeds will come from 5ghz
