[Q] Does edge have note 4 sun light features? - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My note 4 screen would get super bright when put in direct sunlight and I haven't seen my edge do this. Does anyone know if this feature is on the edge and how to enable it?

Yes mine does it, I always left it on auto

S6 Edge More Color Contrast

I was at Tmobile today and I was comparing the S6 edge and the S6. Both were on max brightness with adaptive color profile. The edge had more contrast richness than the non edge. How is this possible when they have the same specs? Are they different panels?
I doubt anything is different except the curve. I've had the same phone side by side a few times and they've never looked exactly the same.
I want to get the non edge because I like the feel better in my hand. However, it's bothers me that the edge screen color has more pop in it.
I believe there was actually an in-depth review put up that decided that the Edge's screen actually was mildly superior, though likely not noticeably so to most people.
Actually, I was at T Mobile again today to look at the phones. On second look, the non Edge had a better screen. It was sharper and didn't show some artifacts that I noticed on the edge. However, the edge still has more contrast. At this point I am considering the non edge because sharpness is important.
Specifically, I was focusing on the man's face. The photo doesn't show the significance of what I saw... But oh well here it is anyways

Note 5 vs S6 edge plus - Gear VR

Hi, wondering which one is best? Only concern is the s6 edge plus leaking light and also not using the whole screen because of the edges.
Thankyou all

How to unlock S7's true max brightness manually?

Hi,
I like a 500 nit screen, which all say the S7 has...it's just not available manually. You must be in sunlight.
How do I unlock this feature?
Reason is that the S7 screen is dim compared to iPhone at max brightness. I've looked at several S7s in store to confirm.
Thanks
I would also like to know if this is possible
it dim compared to the s6 as well. I got both phones and noticed this. probably why the battery last longer well one of the reasons

My galaxy s7 screen is brighter then my galaxy s6 screen. The s7 has also a nice white tint compared to s6. With the same color settings of course.
You can't and that's for a good reason as having the screen set to max brightness for too long will cause burn in and other damage to the screen. Just set it to auto because there is no need for anyone to use the sunlight setting in normal conditions.

My S7 is much brighter than my S6 too.
Does anyone know how to disable the max brightness? It bothers me as it keeps changing when I'm outside and the default max brightness is more then enough where I live.
Thanks.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Screen Sunlight visiblity test

Hello everyone! I want to show you my outdoor video of screen sunlight visibility comparison test between Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and other Galaxies. I hope you will enjoy my video!!!
Link for the video:

The S7e is the first phone I've owned that I don't have to struggle to see in daylight. Although it's still a challenge with sunglasses on.
I agree with you, the phone display is on sunlight (how can be see in video) really sharp and visible.
I noted that when I turn on the screen I a low light environment, it has a fade before the screen completely turn on, like a fade effect. I did some tries and this happen only in low light condition. Is this normal? Under sun light it is very clear and when I turn on the screen it is bright in no time, without any fade effect.
Sended from my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Gold Platinum
The s7 has a very bright screen u ... its a bit annoying in the dark even with having at the lowest settings but ok

S8 + screen brightness

Ok I tried a search first no results I remember my note 7 being extremely bright I could wear my sunglasses and being outside or in a dark tinted car with glasses on and being able to see the screen perfectly I don't think my s8 plus is as bright also my white color on the screen isnt bright white or as white as I remember on my note 7 . I did try adjusting the colors no luck. And adjusting the settings it's on adaptive which I like the best but not as good as I remember. Maybe it's my gpel screen protector? Or maybe it's software built in to help this larger screen with battery life ? I believe this isn't the same screen type as the note 7. Or I'm just crazy lol the bright screen was a huge selling point for me since I live in the sunniest place on earth

You live in Yuma AZ?
Dumb question, auto brightness enabled or disabled? Reason being, the auto allows a threshold of nit output higher than ever going to the slider to 100% yourself.
