[Q] Slow youtube???? HELP!

my youtube app is loading videos up but it takes TOOOOOO LONG!!! sometimes it wont even load it up itll just say error
this happened like a month
i was eb 2.3.5 v2.3 ( something like that but the data was fast on this rom) now im on miui and data is working fine for everything else like browsing or widgets etc.
now even on wifi or not my youtube videos wont even load up
the thumbnail and comments and everything else besides the video loads up fine
but now idk what to do
anyone????

Update your flash player, uninstall youtube app and re-install.

still the same thing

Mine plays fine just watched a few videos in HQ on cellular data, and tried on wi-fi no issues here...
using ultimate 2.2 rom

This really pisses me off. I watch YouTube like all the time. I have a G2 and that has no problems.
G2x just has issues and this YouTube debacle is like the final insult. Browser has stopped forced close on 174 but was forced to stop browser. Its is only two.issues affecting cm 2.3.7
Switched back to nightlies
also Netflix stopped working so went to a backup. No video just audio

miui is a cyan base rom
and the browser version works ok but the youtube app is giving loading issues

so y u just open youtube from browser?easy and same as youtube app
or u can uncheck option that force u to use mobile site
so u can open youtube as desktop site
much better really couse u have all feature of desktop site
full screen
like comments while watching
playlist etc

Yeah my YouTube app takes way to long to load. The browser works fine for me though

using youtube from the browser isnt really something i really want to do but i just want to fix this problem since i like to use youtube occasionally

Try using the latest cm nightly.

it's the rom.... i also had the issue and i still do even with EB 2.3.5 and as well as the cm7 stabled Gb version.... not only with the youtube app but on some of the websites had flash issues where videos were just green lines. so i switched back to EB 2.3.3 stock Gb version. Devs are working as to finding out the problem but still no luck.

I tried the latest nightly 174 and loaded videos instantly this morning.
Will keep trying the Nightly ROMs. Will report back if I encounter the issue again.
Prefer the Youtube app, just faster.

I am having these two issues first I noticed that phone is no more recognized by windows as usb and now this youtube issue of CM stable 7.1 , I was really liking this CM. If someone is there reading these and can help please help.

i really hope this gets fixed soon but was it ever stated as an issue before so others could become more aware and hopefully put it in more demand for a fix or something?

Youtube Slow issue found
What I did I uninstalled both adobe flash player and youtube app and using dolphin web browser for youtube. I tried all those videos again through dolphin and got the instant response on my almost 2mega Byte connection. So, I guess I have to live without youtube app.

ya i just started to pretty much use the browser for youtube but i really like the youtube app smh please work again

Works fine for me now with nightly 174. No longer delays video play with YouTube app.

Well I recently switched from LG Stock Rom to CM7.1 stable on my P990, and have the same issue. I'm glad that its not just me having slow loading of YouTube videos on the phone. Thanks for sharing the information that the nightly build of CM might help solve the issue. How many others have been successful with that build?

I can confirm that recent nightly builds are no longer causing slow loading of videos in YouTube app. I installed CM7.1 #204

[SOLVED] Youtube App can't watch videos

Hello,
in the youtube app i can't watch videos.
Error message is : Unable to connect to server Touch to retry
Downloading the videos works though and in the dolphin browser they play too
i am on CM7 - any ideas how to fix this?

i tried with JackpotClavin's latest ICS ROM and youtube
app is working there if u choose SD versions of video.
Seems to be an issue with CM7 then?

The YouTube app on CM7 with the stock kernel works perfectly for me, and it has for a pretty good while as well, so I don't think it's CM7's fault, or a version issue. Maybe you should try reflashing gapps (is youtube included among those)? Or clearing the app's data/cache on the app management settings menu, then try watching a video again.
Some other questions that might help: Is your internet connection definitely not the issue? Can you play any other streaming content available on the web reliably?

droidwall (media server, google stuff)
by the way it is not part of the gapps it has to be downloaded
from the android market

Can't Play Videos On YouTube App

I'm currently having a problem. The problem is simple ,
I can't play any youtube videos only on the official YouTube app and it always shows " there was a problem while playing, touch to retry" it doesn't matter how much I touched, it wouldn't load the video ,
the weird thing is this bug only happens in lollipop 5.1.1 and 5.02 sony based rom whether it's STOCK or A CUSTOM ROM and this problem DOES NOT happen in AOSP CM12 etc.
I thought this is caused by youtube adaway with xposed but the fact is it's not .
I've tried it without xposed and I've tried to wipe the phone and done a clean install and it still wouldn't play the videos. It could play a video on YouTube after a reboot but only for approximately about 5 minutes of playing YouTube videos .
After that the bug would come out again.
However I could play YouTube videos on OG YouTube with the xposed module and in chrome without any problems. I'm confused...

fix some lagg

hi everyone
so the past few months I discovered my phone was lagging a lot this is the 2 gb version.
most or the tile on apps like youtube and snapchat so found out a video on YouTube that helped me out.
you need to disable awesome player from the developers options on your phone then restart your device.
hope this helps others like me also out still not all lagg is fixed but at least snapchat and youtube are working better

Awesome Player is a legacy Android option, so disabling it on a recent version such as 5.1.1, it doesn't surprise me that makes your phone faster.

YouTube ads play on the official YouTube app, despite YouTube AdAway

Hey there, whenever I watch any video on the youtube app, I always see some mod edit ads, at a point of time, I saw so many mod edit ads, and was way too pissed off, so I decided to block them once and for all!
I tried this, and it worked for some time.

Now, as usual, I am using a rooted phone and flashed xposed, installed youtube AdAway, and.....................................
Whenever I play a video on the official YouTube app.............
NOTHING'S mod edit HAPPENING, THOSE IRRELEVANT mod edit ADS PLAY (WHETHER THE VIDEOS ON THE OFFICIAL YOUTUBE APP PLAYS PROPERLY OR NOT) DESPITE THE YOUTUBE ADAWAY APP INSTALLED (WHICH CLAIMS TO BLOCK ADS)

Every time you update the YouTube app ,you also have to reinstall YTadaway.

Actually, I noticed the same thing a few days ago, but I never updated YouTube or changed any of my settings for my rooted device. Not sure why the ads started appearing on their own without any software updates.

Sometimes certain modifications for applications only work for a specific update. Check if you have the same update version that supports Ad away.

I did it, I did as described on how to block YouTube ads, but still those horrible ads creep up, ads play whether the video plays or not.

Nowadays YouTube ads are annoying AF, I don't know why the YouTube Adaway app isn't blocking any ads
