Hi everyone,
So basically the title says it all, anyone know or seen any black friday Note 4 accessories deals?
I've basically waited forever (over a month) waiting for Samsung's official battery charging kit + protective case to come back in stock but it didn't happen. And I refuse to have my phone in naked no-case mode any longer since I fear I may drop it someday eventually. Also it's Black Friday.
Basically all I want is a nice case for a nice price THAT DOESN'T SCRATCH THE BEZEL METAL AREA (I had Spigen Ultra Capsule and returned it immediately after all those terrible reviews of scratches with pictures) AND FITS ON VERZION MODEL MIC SLOT (which is another big issues for Verizon model holders like me).
So any advice/suggestion/help? And aside from case, any other good accessories deal?

It's not the case that scratches, it's whatever gets caught in between the case and your phone that scratches the bare metal. Blame Samsung for their choice of materials. Doesn't matter if the case is silicone, TPU or polycarbonate. None of them will be scratch proof.

That's the point for MOST CASES but not Spigen Ultra Capsule. The material itself scratches the bezel metal. Other cases will do less. I'm just looking for recommendations for cases for Verizon model that won't naturally scratch from case material until something does get caught in between, and if there happens to be a sale on it, triple bonus points.

I Have had this case on since it first came out: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NP3K8Y2?ref_=pe_1196280_123950170
And haven't had one scratch as of yet!
I have been using the Ringke Slim on my Note4 and have not seen any scratches on my bezel. I remove the cover often to remove the batteries
I pull it off from the top by slightly pushing the heart rate sensor and it comes out easily
I'm using the Tech21 and it has not scratched mine at all. I have taken it off and on many times and no blemishes whatsoever.
The Black Friday deals that was and still is, XtremeGuardz providing 90% off their Military-Graded Screen Protectors and Full Body Skins (Includes Spartan Tempered Glass as well) with free shipping. This was for the Note 4. Also, MacMall was selling the Zagg Tempered Glass for the Note 4 ($20) and Zagg HDX ($15) for the Note 4.

Is that MacMall deal still going on? I wanted to grab a Zagg HDX but didn't want to pay $24.99 on Zagg's site. On Zagg's site they have a BOGO deal, but I don't need 2 of them.
MacMall shows Out of Stock, but you can still purchase and receive notification when it ships out. Didn't know Zagg had a BOGO sale going on. I should return the order I received yesterday and reorder two with the BOGO and sell one of them on eBay.

I would think the fact that MacMall is out of stock means you'd get the revised Zagg screen protector when they're back in stock. On the tempered glass screen protectors thread a forum member posted that they'd just received a revised glass Zagg Invisableshield and are waiting for their phone next week to apply it & post pictures. Oddly on the pictures of the packaging he posted Zagg doesn't state the hardness # but on their website they state 9.
Haha, I'm the forum member that made the Revised Zagg post. I'll be getting my device next week.
I believe the Zagg website has not updated the packaging on their site. The BOGO offer on Zagg is pretty legit, considering that if anything goes wrong with the order, Customer Service will be more than happy to send replacements free of charge without requiring further action on your end. MacMall is great, but the wait may be long as Zagg has dozens of orders to fulfill, including those from the last several weeks.

I'm very tempted to order the Zagg from MacMall for $20 even if it does take longer considering Zagg is charging $34.95. I'd really like to see pictures of the revised edition installed as I don't want to have to send back another protector because it doesn't fit properly or has a halo. Maybe you'll be able to post pictures of yours before MacMall's sale ends on Monday.
Hopefully, I'll be able to post pictures Monday evening, as long as the Brand New device I receive is in the condition I expect it to be.

And they are still overpriced. I never did and never will understand the obsession with Otterbox. But to each their own.
I honestly agree with what you're saying. These cases are still Made in China at the end of the day. You can purchase non-branded Otterbox cases (with similar function, design, quality, and integrity) for a lot cheap. The only downside is no warranty and long shipping times. In today's economy, every dollar counts.

The 25% Coupon is great for the Defender. Thanks!
I also have the spigen tough armor case and went back to my Otterbox. Reason being is that all the ports are covered and has nice grip. I know most will say their over priced, but somethings you get what you pay for IMO .

What case will you be getting, if any?
Post your $0.02, give a little review, discuss.
I'll start:
I ordered an otterbox commuter series case for the Desire HD, and am crossing my fingers that the Inspire and DHD are exactly the same. I feel like the commuter is the best balance between essential protection, without adding too much more bulk onto an already large device (to me, slimness is a deal breaking factor). When it comes in, and I have the phone on the 13th, I will test it out and report my findings. If it doesn't fit - I'm going to go with the case-mate 'barely there' case. The only reason I did not choose this case - strangely enough - is that it didn't cover the aluminum/glass seams on the front face of the phone.
Has anyone owned an otterbox before? Please comment on the quality, snugness, design etc - let me know what I should expect.
When I first got my Captivate I also ordered the Otterbox Commuter, however it was a bit too bulky for me since I like the aesthetics of the devices that I buy, and it hampered it too much.
With that said, I will first start out with a naked device, then I might move to a PhantomSkinz Chromatic skin. I love those things.
If I want a bit more protection, then I will definitely be getting a CaseMate Barely There too.
Heh, I also just ordered the OtterBox commuter case for DesireHD, it shipped out today. I'm hoping it fits ok, it should...
I love otterbox protection but hate the bulk. I will be going with a casemate gel skin and a gelaskin for the back along with an invisible shield for the screen

I am thinking it will fit perfectly - after doing more case research last night I found that Seidio is advertising cases for the Inspire/DHD. Unless they are purposely making a blanket case with some added "wiggle room", I believe they know for a fact the two devices share the same dimensions.
When did you order yours? I ordered mine last night (2/7/11, 11:30 pm) and have not received a shipping email yet.
Is the commuter really that bulky? I wonder how easy it is to return a case to them...
Edit: Just checked out their return policy. Seems pretty basic, except shipping costs are non refundable. If it turns out I don't like the case, I'll eat the charge for shipping it back to them (I used a coupon code that got 10% off/free shipping).
I will get the accessories package at the at&t store, but if that isn't enough, I may buy this: http://www.case-mate.com/HTC-Desire-HD/Case-Mate-HTC-Desire-HD-Clear-Armor.asp
What do you think?
Matt
I ordered mine on 2/07 at 2am, and got the shipping confirmation later the same day at 7pm... So that's about 17 hours, lol. I'm guessing that yours will probably ship out by 2/08 at some point? I'm pretty sure we'll get them by the end of the week. I used the same deal, 10% off with free shipping.
I have not seen the OtterBox Commuter cases in person, but they look a lot less bulky than the Defender cases! A friend has the Defender case for iPhone 4 and while it's nice, it's freakin' huge, haha. I think the Commuter series is supposed to be like a lighter version of the Defender, which is exactly what I want.
I always had the gel skin case made by boxwave. It's very easy take off and on. Feels good in your hand. It's doesn't add bulk. They also have one for desire hd which should fit the inspire. I am very excited about the release.

My experience with these cases are never good. While they seem great in theory, I have the way that without fail - dirt and lint get stuck on all of the edges of the plastic. Whether you keep it in your pocket or keep it in your hand, it has happened on every clear shield I have applied. Not to mention they are very tricky to apply to contoured surfaces. They protect from scratches, but don't drop it - your edge will still be exposed (which is probably what is going to hit the ground first)
I have only owned the zagg versions of these, so I don't know if the case mate ones are any different. The last one I owned was actually for an iPhone 4. While I was in the store, despite my previous experiences with them, I thought that it would be a good idea - since the front and back of the iphone 4 are completely flat. While it was a breeze to install, the plastic protector never quite took hold of the glass surface and when I would put it in my pocket, I would remove it to find the protector all disheveled over the phone. I eventually just ripped it off and found a slim hard case.

Case
This case has great reviews on an htc desire site. Its made from TPU which is a little harder and less "sticky" than a gel case. Same material as my iphone's iskin case which I've had for over a year. I've dropped it multiple times, and no damage to the phone or case. Prob the best material IMO. Probably similar to the Flexishield case I have on my Hero. If so, they are great.
Just ordered that case, $3.79 shipped on eBay.
I plan on getting the seidio innocase II case holster combo for the inspire when it ships
Cool, my OtterBox Commuter case (for Desire HD) came in today! Took 3 days total with (free) shipping via USPS Priority.
The case is NICE! Way better than I expected and really not too bulky looking at all. I'd say no thicker than any other normal case. I like the combination of the rubber + hard shell. The case also has a nice texture to it as well. Now I just hope it fits the Inspire ok, lol.
I pre-ordered from Radio Shack, guy told me they were getting the Inspires in "early" for the 10th, because they're trying to compete with Verizon iPhone (which launches on the 10th). I have no idea if he's right or not, but will call on Thurs afternoon to check, and maybe I'll have a nice surprise...
I preordered mine through radioshack as well i hope they call me earlier than the 13th to come pick it up. i'm paying retail for the phone so i wonder if I'll get the 30 accessorie gift card? Any suggestions?
So we can buy any desire hd case and it will fit the inspire?

I ordered 4 of them from the shack and was told I would get the $30 card for each phone. Also not sure if you did this or not, but on the bottom of your preorder receipt theres a survey link , tkaes about 3 minutes, and at the end you print out a coupon for $10 off your next $40 purchase (picking up the phone )
Clarivue (www.clarivue.com) have opened pre-orders for their line of Nexus 4 screen protectors (ETA 26 November). I have no connection with the company other than as a customer, but I thought I'd pass along the information.
They offer four varieties: clear, anti-glare, privacy, and mirror. The first two are $12.99 for a pair; the other two are sold as singles, $19.99 for the privacy and $15.99 for the mirror. These are pre-order prices and presumably will go up at some point. There's also a 10% off coupon, code "clarivue2012", good through 10 December. Shipping is free.
These are dry-application and cover the full flat surface of the screen (but not the curved shoulders, which I've seen a number of people here requesting).
I've been using the anti-glare version on my LG G2x for 18 months and have been happy with the performance: only very minor image degradation (and I imagine that will be even better on the Nexus 4, considering how close the pixels are to the screen surface) but very good diffusion of reflected images. I'm a Swype user, so the keypad area tends after a few months to get polished and more reflective; however, Clarivue has a lifetime replacement policy, and I had no hassle at all getting a free replacement protector. I really like the paper-like feel to the surface, as well; I find that a bare glass screen tends to be a bit "grabby" if my fingers are slightly damp from perspiration, and that's not a problem with the protector.
I've ordered a pair of the anti-glare protectors; I'll try to remember to post an update here when they arrive and I've applied one.

Love Clarievue, been using them for years (maybe 10) top notch product. and yes I am not assisted with them just a very happy customer.
These better then spi spigen? I'm looking for the best dry screen protector and I don't know which ones to go with. Both are rather expensive so I want to make sure I just the right ones.
I can't compare them, having never used spigen. Sorry.
Thanks for the heads up. I've always liked their product.

I've used both on several devices and haven't been disappointed with either. I also really like the Tech Armor ones (good quality and much cheaper) but they haven't announced one for the Nexus 4 yet.
Quick note: I just got email from Clarivue saying that the screen protectors will ship tomorrow. However, they have now added a back protector as well, so those who had preordered, like me, could opt either for a front-only package shipped tomorrow or a free upgrade to a front+back package shipping on 30 November. I don't know what the retail cost of the front+back package will be; it's not on their web site yet. I'm holding off for the front+back package.
I've used both SGP and Clarivue in the past and I love both.
Hmmm... I wish they let you purchase just the back protector. Maybe I should send them a message and see what they say.
Thinking about buying the anti-glare one today. 25% off with their Black Friday sale!
Just preordered a pack of 2 front and back protectors for $14,99 (12€). Nice catch!
I'm very happy with the SGP films for my Nexus S and Nexus 7, so if Clarivue is as good as those it should be a good deal.
I ordered the 2front + 2back as well with the 25% coupon. Let's see how they compare.
I only ordered the Front. I'm probably going to be putting it in a clear case so the back part isn't as important to me.
I just got an email from Clarivue saying that my order is shipping, so I should have it within a week (hopefully coinciding reasonably well with my receiving my replacement N4, the original being RMA'ed for a defective camera LED).
So I asked them is there a proximity sensor cut out for these protectors and this is the answer I got.
Hello,
Thank you for writing to us.
The first batch (for pre-order) may be missing the cut out for proximity sensor, but starting with our next batch, which will arrive before end of next week, they should include the cut out at top left corner.
If you have more questions or comments regarding our products and services, feel free to contact us.
Best Regards,

So I would wait on these before I order them.
Gee, that's disappointing -- thanks for the info. Guess I'll be doing a bit of surgery on the ones that are currently in the mail, sigh...
Anyone received their screen protectors yet? I preordered, but nothing yet.
Thanks for sharing.
I have been looking for a anti-glare dry back protector for sometimes, emailed SGP about it but they didn't reply my email. I'm going to order it from Clarivue now.

I preordered, but when they emailed me on Nov. 22 giving me a choice between immediately shipping just the screen protectors or waiting a week for a free upgrade to front+back protectors, I opted to wait. I got a notice from them on Nov. 27 that my order had shipped, with expected delivery in 5-10 business days, so I imagine they will arrive sometime next week.
Just got mine in the mail today and there is no proximity sensor cutout. Awesome. I already emailed them and will update with their response.
I also got mine today and installed it on my sisters phone. Even though it has no cutout for the sensor it doesn't affect the phone when on a call or rotating the phone. Overall I like the quality of the protector.

How does it handle the curved edge and what does it feel like? Assuming they next batch has the cut out, I may be interested, but only if it doesn't feel rubbery (really hoping it has a glass like feel).
Last year, I pre-odered the Spigen Glass screen protector about a month before the Note 3 came out. Thanks to Spigen's AWEFUL customer service and absolutely no support what soever, i got my glass tr about a month and a half after I got the note3. Spigen have great products but there is no way i'm dealing with them again because of their lack of respect for paying customers.
About 2 months ago i had to replace my Note 3 and thus lost my glass protector and i bought a protector from a seller on ebay that offered me a very high quality product, which was to my knowledge as good as spigens products and 5 times less expensive. Now, that seller has ready for shipping the protector for the S5, so if like me, you've already pre-ordered it and want to have the protector ready for application on april 11th, then you can go buy it now for a ridiculous $7.60 with free shipping.

I have had better luck with SPIGEN - in fact I ordered the New Nano Glass Screen Protector in anticipation of getting the S5 (I Preordered on teh 24th) and the Spigen glass screen protector has already shipped (according to UPS) what is amazing to me is that they have the Screen protectors ready to ship even before the phones have hit the streets.
I admit - it seems too good to be true - so I will be very interested to check the box when it arrives to make sure it is the right screen protector - it seems like Spigen has it figured out pretty well this time....I will report back when I get the shipment later this week.

Ya, mine was also "shipped" but in fact only the tracking number was generated, it was never actually shipped. Until you actually see the first checkpoint that say it has been accepted at the shipping facility, i wouldnt cont on it. Maybe they learned from their mistake, but ignoring all my emails and support tickets will make me not be their client, ever again, at least not with them directly, possibly with a reseller like amazon.
In any case, i got my screen protector, and it's legit, it nice, smooth and look almost identical to spigen's. Also, this guy didnt make me pay an extra 5$ for rounded corners. I'm happy with my purchase, and it just proves that paying 40$ for a piece of glass isnt worth it when a chinese version makes me as happy

well - here is what I see when I click on the tracking number they sent me:
Package Status:In Transit
Fontana, CA, United States 04/01/2014 3:50 A.M. Package transferred to destination UPS Mail Innovations facility
So - It is definately in transit - I sure wish the S5 was - lol
(I have purchsed the chinese versions that are cheaper and I can say first hand that you get what you pay for) but at the end of the day, if the inexpensive screen protector works for you - that's great - I have had good luck with Spigen and that works for me -better than the others do - and it is in shipment - should be here in a few days
I had spigen glass tr on all my previous phones, and i can tell you you picked the wrong chinese seller. I dont see any difference except the price

Evolution Labs has heard our concerns about both the bumper case and screen protector! They are sending out new and improved products to customers who purchased them at no extra cost (expect shipping). In addition, they will give an extra 15% off a product that you add. If you haven't received the email yet, I attached a copy of mine for you to read! They say attach at least two images of the products. Well my protector is in the garbage for obvious reasons so hopefully they still send one. Just email support with the required information and you are set!
Already ordered. Its a shame that the screen protector is still not fully adhesive - only edges like in previous one (I asked support about that).

Yeah. I wasn't expecting much out of the screen protector. The bumper case is the one I'm more worried about!

I'm just curious why they haven't made it fully adhesive if they cut off the edges anyway. Well, I'll when I'll get it. But hopefully it will be a decent protector this time. The previous one was horrible. And I have no complaints about the bumper - for me it sits quite well.
What is changed with the bumper?

With a case on, it seems to "take away" from the small bezels, and the beautiful screen, on the other hand, I don't want anything to happen "just in case" What do all of you prefer?
I use skin on the back and glass screen protector on the front. This way the phone is almost as slim as naked but at the same time very well protected.
Been no case since day 1 with no issues. Several waist height drops with no breakage just a ding or 2.
No case. Takes away from beauty and in-hand feel.
I'm thinking a clear Skinomi full skin might do it, but I've never had a full body one from them, only screen protectors
I've just been using a skin and screen protector at home. Put a slim case on when I go out for some drop protection.

I'd get the IQ Shield over Skinomi. Tried both and IQ Shield looks and feels better. Still have the screen protector on. Feels almost as smooth as glass.

I dropped the phone from my shirt pocket. Display broke.

i can vouch for the skinomi full kit. i use it on both my ph-1's. fitment is great and works under my tudia case ( to provent scratches to bezel )
I dropped mine today getting out of my truck and cracked the screen in the bottom left. Most frustrating thing is I finally ordered a case days ago but won't be here until tomorrow...so of course on the day before I drop it like this.
Don't go naked... For Sprint it's a $200 deductable to repair or replace. iFixit gives this phone a score of 1/10 in repairability on your own.
Poetic Guardian. Excellent style and protection so far.

I went with Square Trade. Cheaper deductible.
At $200 you can go directly to Essential for replacement. That's the street price.

I like the way is feels without a case, but I also am not ready for a reeks phone.
I may look at the Guardian.
I wish they made the Affinity for the Ph-1. The Poetic Affinity is the case I've had on three previous phones.
I have one on my work iPhone 6. Had it on my LG G6 and my Nexus 6P.
Best case ever. IMHO

Doesn't the screen protector on that one lower touch sensitivity? Can you remove the screen protector without ruining the case?

I personally have not noticed any more touch issues than the phone already had. It may be possible to remove the screen protector from the front portion of the case but I wouldn't bother doing it. The front peice of the case is what the phone fits into initially and its pretty snug.
There is some rainbow effect where the screen protector touches the screen but it is ONLY noticeable when the screen is off and you look at it from an angle.
Still running naked since the first day of deliveries with no regrets.

How long have you had the phone? About to get one and would prefer using it without a case and screen protector. All my previous phones have had cases, but none ever had screen protection. Never had a screen break or scratch. Have dinged the corners on occasion. I'm thinking of going "naked" and then adding a case, if necessary, to cover any damage down the line. I don't see a point in hiding the beauty of this slab so that someone else gets the pleasure of an unblemished phone if I decide to sell it. BTW, I've never sold any of my 10+ old phones. No value once I'm done with them. Opinion?

I've had mine since release day. I agree, this phone is just too pretty to cover up. I've had a few drops and still not a scratch, ding , or crack to be found.
Case it Pls. I dropped my black moon face down and cracked the screen. I had tgsp but it also flew out from the impact.
Amazon was nice to allow me to have a full refund on a 1 time basis. Ordered my halo gray with a case. Lol
I got this one in few days after getting my phone:
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B078PCCKYL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
pretty good quality and price. feels solid.

Same here, since September last year. Fell to the ground once in London, not a scratch. My phone has been everywhere and I don't regret the lack of a case. About to order the copper black just because and would be a crime to case that one!

Hey, I about to hit buy on this case too, do you find it awkward to hold when it's open? How about the fingerprint scanner, does the case make it harder to use?
Thanks!
