[Completed] [Q] S4 AOKP time changes when reboot or start - XDA Assist

Hi im currently using a Galaxy S4 running aokp_jflte_kitkat_nightly_2014-10-18, Android 4.4.4.
I have a problem that when i restart or turn on my phone the time and the date has changed from what it was when i turned it off, it usually changes a few years into the future.
I have tried every possible setting with time but i cant seem to fix it.
How do i fix it?
Please help!

Hi,
The best place to ask about this is in the thread you downloaded the rom from. Make sure you read the opening post or 2 carefully to see if its a known issue. And read the last few pages to see if anyone is talking about the issue or has a fix.
Good luck!

ehm
Thing is that i downlaoded it directly from aokp...

They likely have a thread here. But I'll need to know your version of S4 to find it.

It's a 9505

Here you go,
> Samsung Galaxy S 4 i9500, i9505, i9505G, i9506 > Galaxy S 4 i9505 Original Android Development > [ROM] AOKP [Nightlies]
Rom issues are always best asked about in the rom threads. But do read the opening post carefully, and the last several pages to see if the issue is being talked about and maybe even the fix. Then post your question if not.
And note, until you reach 10 constructive posts on XDA, your post will automatically be placed in a Q&A thread for that Rom in your devices Q&A section.
Good luck!

Hi there!
Well, there's a few different recoveries for your device.....and many roms as well.
The best thing I can do is give you the links to the sections that contain them....and you can do a little research and decide what recovery and ROMs are best for you.
There's 2 sections. Android Development and android original development. Most the recoveries will be found in original development. And ROMs are in both.
>*Samsung Galaxy S 4 i9500, i9505, i9505G, i9506*>*Galaxy S 4 i9500 Original Android Development
>*Samsung Galaxy S 4 i9500, i9505, i9505G, i9506*>*Galaxy S 4 i9500 Android Development
Please read read read...carefully. And be sure whatever you flash is indeed for your device. Follow instructions to the letter as well.
Good luck!

what's the difference between android development and original development?
which one better for my device? i mean the safe one.
thank you.
Original development is exactly that....original work. The regular development section is mostly ROMs made that are based on the original ROMs.... With some changes.
Whats stable is a question you need to discover yourself....by reading the ROM threads....usually the opening post or two for sure...then the last few pages. Or you can simply backup what you have in recovery and start flashing and find out what's good for your needs.
---------- Post added at 12:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:28 AM ----------
And everything we do here with our phones comes with risks. Always.
So read up and learn and understand..... Before you do anything.

thanks man,
so after i rooted my device, what's the best i should do now?
can I use custom rom now? or do i need to instal recovery first?
I just confused about the step.
Yes, recovery, then ROM. Again....read carefully before doing anything.
And any future questions about anything for your device can be posted here....

[Completed] Back after a long absence

Hi Guys, I'm back after a very long absence. I was originally here when it was all about the XDA. I'v had to have a new log in so cant really do much until i do 10 posts. Its nice to be back. I see that there are still some amazing developers on this forum.
I'm now a Mac user so am finding it hard to find flashing software without getting loads of spam pop ups/malware intrusions.
I'm trying to fix a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 at the moment that the user managed to brick after doing an official update. Its just stuck in a continuous boot loop...switch on and you get the samsung galaxy splash screen and goes no further.
Any of you wizards able to point me in the right direction?
Cheers in advance.
its great to be back
Hi,
They just changed the way the development sections work. If someone under 10 posts posts in a development thread... An automatic thread is created in the Q&A section. So feel free to post.
Also, for your issue, Here is where to ask for help,
> Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 > Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
Thank you. Thread closed.

[Completed] [Q] Cant find the link to the T999UVUEMJC Modem in [ROM][5.3.14] :StockMOD ROM: | Gal

In the thread created by saranhai it is stated that
YOU MUST FLASH THE T999UVUEMJ4 MODEM, T999UVUEMJC MODEM OR THE T999UVUENC2 MODEM FOR T-MOBILE GALAXY S III IN ORDER FOR DATA TO WORK; OTHERWISE YOU WILL NOT HAVE DATA
ALSO, IF YOU OWN A SGH-T999V AND HAVE UPDATED TO ANDROID 4.4.2 (VLFNF1), YOU CAN ONLY USE THE 4.4.2 MODEM!
AS USUAL, I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR DEVICE! ONE WRONG MOVE (Especially with the Modem) AND YOU COULD END UP WITH A VERY EXPENSIVE BRICK. PROCEED AT OWN RISK.
When you scroll down on the website you will find that there are 4 links to 4 things labeled
"
-StockMOD Custom ROM-
A ROM aimed at giving you the core features of TouchWiz, and much more!
-StockMOD ROM-
Completely based on Stock ROM, little to no changes.
-Community Section-
A place for all of the previously uploaded ROMs, the Mods Center, and Signature Banners!
-F.A.Q-
Answers to (Hopefully) all your questions
"
After clicking on "-StockMOD Custom ROM- A ROM aimed at giving you the core features of TouchWiz, and much more! " you will find that it will give you a link to the required modem. Unfortunately, when I click on "-StockMOD ROM- Completely based on Stock ROM, little to no changes. " it says under "prerequisites" that I need the T999UVUEMJC Modem but with no link given. I am having trouble finding this modem. In addition, I tried searching up T999UVUEMJC Modem on google in hope for finding the actual download, but I was not able to find anything (im unsure about some of the downloads)
Link for the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2501303
(THIS IS NOT THE LINK FOR THE MODEM IM LOOKING FOR. IT IS ONLY THE LINK TO THE THREAD I WAS REFERRING TO)
Hi,
Sorry for the late reply!
You can ask in the rom thread you linked in your second post. Because you have not reached 10 constructive posts yet, it will automatically post your question in your devices Q&A section. ?
If that doesn't help you, you can ask for help here,
> Samsung Galaxy S III I9300, I9305 > Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [HELP THREAD] Galaxy S3 Ask any question.
Good luck!
Thank you. Thread closed.

[Completed] [Q] How to install kitkat 4.4.4 on SGY GT-5360

As the title said. I was already saw it on youtube, some of replies says It doesn't work so I'm afraid to do it. Even if I try it I don't know how to do it. Cuz I'm new in this kinda knowledge-base So anyone who can help me? T.i.a. (Thanks in Advance)
btw(by the way) this is my first Thread. And btw Sorry bout my crappy English
Hi,
Here is your device section...
> Legacy & Low Activity Devices > Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360
It up to you to decide if kit Kat roms are for you. Read the kit Kat rom threads in the development sections and you'll read about bugs or issues they may have. Everything we do here is flash at your own risk , so it's our decision to flash or not. Read the threads and especially the opening posts and decide if you want to flash it.
Any questions going forward can be asked in the rom threads if rom related, or the Q&A section otherwise.
Good luck!
Thank you. Thread closed.
