[Completed] (Q) Where to ask for ROM porting? - XDA Assist

Hi, XDA forum;
i'd like to know if i can ask somewhere on XDA forums for ROM porting for specific device? Thank you, all, for kind answers.

Hello,
this is not something we typically ask of people out here. Porting a rom is not an easy process.
You can however take a look here and learn how development works and try for yourself
Thank you

Hey Guys i was wondering if some Dev's could help me get started on building my own roms or give me some pointers as to where i should start. I want to make roms to support us Australians as i don't see many going around.

Wrong place for the question maybe ?
Google search + XDA search are your best tools.
You want to take a look in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=611

[Completed] Htc desire 700 custom rom

i need a custom rom for my desire 700
my android version is low and i want to update it to 4.4
what i have to do? any help
Hi!
I see you've already posted about this in the thread I was going to link. Please be patient and discuss this in that existing thread.
There does not seem to be any ROMs on XDA for your device, so not much you can do at the moment.
Please see the Purpose of XDA Assist....here...

You seem to be finding your way around without our help. We don't do support in this section.
Thanks for understanding.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android
You can ask questions in the threads , or are your own thread... Though I would read lots before asking for help. ?

Hi
Darth, Thanks for your reply.
I searched a lot for Device tree for HTC desire V, but cant find them. Any one can please help me to get that file.
You need to ask for help in the section I linked. This is not the place for support or discussion. We're here to point the way only.
? Thanks, thread closed.

[Completed] [Q] Planning to start building my own ROM, a cry for help (Samsung G. Grand Prime VE)

Firstly, happy new year to everyone c:
As the title says, I'm considering making my own ROM for the SM-G731F.
I've lurked around XDA for quite a while now and I can't seem to find a guide that's able to clarify the process for me.
So I decided to make a post here,
The ROM I want to make should be something as close to AOSP as possible (for what I've seen, no Cyanogen or ROMs alike are available, so..), but my programming skills are lacking.
Even with guides about building or porting ROMs I haven't yet figured out where to start.
So here come a few questions:
1. Can I build a AOSP ROM for my Samsung device (AFAIK I need some base ROM right?)
2. Assuming that porting is not an option, is building a ROM from scratch a viable way to do this? (Even though my programming skills are close to none I've had some experience with C and I'm willing to put in the effort)
3. What will be the main challenges to this?
Cheers,

[Completed] ROM request for samsung galaxy j2 (sm-j200f)

Hey there,
Recently my phone started to become very laggy.
So i thought it would be great time to change my rom for good. But the problem is I couldn't find any ROM for this phone. So I thought of porting ROM in this phone.... Turns out, it's complicated. Can anyone please port cyanogenmod ROM for my phone?
P.S.-I am new to Xda, I don't know where to post ROM requests, so I thought it would be a better place to post in general discussion forum

Hi
Assist is not the place to request for rom ports
If you register an account, you can request for it here

Thanks and thread closed
