Hello XDA developers!
I hope you can help me with a serieus problem on my Nexus5 Device!
Let's tell you my little adventure with my Nexus5 :
First my Nexus5 Device worked perfectly, but then the radiobaseband and the sensors magically dissapeared!
https://db.tt/cdZiSukZ i've tooked some screenshots of it on dropbox.
Then I Flashed the factory image for my device by following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701
And it started to work perfectly, till now........
after about a week i watched a unspecified video on Google Chrome and the screen freezed ( not literally )
So I hold the power button and turn it off, turn it back on and i got a infinity bootloop.
So I flash again the official factory image and it can't flash my system?
its look like this;
trying to flash system.img....
FAILED
the rest of the process flash succesfull until it reach system.img
and a friend of mine therinsem tried to add a custom recovery and it didn't work, so we flashed again the factory image and it still FAILED,
to flash system.img the rest of the process work until it reach system.img.
now it doesn't even boot? it's only going straight into fastboot-mode
and if i press in fastboot-mode recoverymode than it shows nothing? ( i think because we tried to flash a custom recovery )
- iv'e tried on a bunch of diffrent windows laptop's
- i can't access the internal storage of the device
- i can still '' side-load'' I think
so this is my problem with the nexus5, does anyone have a solution?:crying:
Download the factory image again and make sure the md5 checks. Then try again
There's another thread around here somewhere with pretty much the same issue. Sounds like bad memory. From fastboot try:
Code:
fasboot format system
If that succeeds reflash the factory image. If that fails your most likely looking at RMA.
I wouldn't really since google will charge you twice for tampering with the imei

Sometimes it happens that you lose your imei. Flashing the factor image can bring it back. Nothing nefarious going on

I've got the Canadian Virgin Mobile Moto G, and I recently unlocked the carrier. I am going to unlock to bootloader to flash a rom with more languages, specifically Portuguese.. What rom should I use, I'm looking for the original Moto G software.

Oh man, thank you for the link, I just might use that. Just a refresher, to flash It I would first unlock the bootloader, flash a new recovery, wipe, and then flash the new rom?

yep, but you don't need to flash a custom recovery for a Stock ROM.

Okay so I unlocked my bootloader for my Moto G, and when It rebooted it said android was updating apps and then all the processes stopped working. It booted into the android startup but I couldn't get any processes running so it wouldnt work. I tried to reboot and now android doesn't even boot up. Should I flash a custom recovery right now and then wipe??? I haven't done anything to the phone other than carrier unlock and bootloader unlock. please help
Should I try this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219 , or is it too risky right now? I'm planning to restore it to another stock firmware anyways.

First, don't panic.
Second, explain how do you unlock the bootloader, did you use this?
Third, what does the bootloader screen (Power+VolDown) says in the second to last line before the first break (LOCKED/UNLOCKED).
Fourth, if it says UNLOCKED, try to flash the ROM using this, otherwise try to unlock the bootloader again with the link i posted in the second point.
And don't worry as long as you can enter fastboot mode (bootloader) you can fix everything, and nothing of the things you are doing affects fastboot mode.
They all want money.

Can you elaborate?
You can add more languages without a custom ROM using MoreLocale 2.

I used that webstie to unlock the bootloader, and when I went to fastboot it did say UNLOCKED status code: 3.
I left it plugged into my PC last night because It wouldn't turn off, and I think it wasn't charging because now it's off and won't turn on. I'm going to plug it into a wall charger and wait a few to check if it's on.
After that, I'll try the method you said.
EDIT: Seems like charging doesn't work either, weird... because it said it was connecting to my PC last night in Fastboot

That's weird, doing the steps in that page don't make changes big enough in the phone to make something like that happen.
What does it says in the line below UNLOCKED, USB CONNECTED or CONNECT USB DATA CABLE while you had it connected to your pc/wall?
Why don't you try to use another cable?

I don't remember what it said.
I've tried a few different wall chargers and cables. They seem to charge my other phones but not this one. I'm going to wait an hour and then maybe put it in the freezer for a few minutes

That's a... unorthodox approach, but reading around it just might work.
I can only recommend you to put it in a sealed container and having a rice bag at hand afterwards, just in case.
Now if you can get it to fastboot mode, try to restore a backup (if you did one) or flash a ROM, im assuming that if you can connect a cable and send commands to fastboot it is charging the phone. BTW at this point if you can send commands and are tired trying to fix it, you can execute
Code:
fastboot oem lock
and you can claim the warranty, that behaviour is not normal, maybe something in the hardware side broke but until we test it more we can't be sure.
Now while we wait in for the phone to become a popsicle, can you detail how you unlocked it?

Ok, so I bought the phone and got it carrier unlocked, then yesterday I decided to flash a new rom to get the languages so I went to https://motorola-global-portal.cust...e/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a/action/auth. Unlocked the bootloader and when the phone was about to restart from cmd it said "FAILED" but rebooted anyways. It went into fastboot again and ti said it was Unlocked, when I selected Normal Reboot, it started up with the bootloader logo and continued on normally. It was then that it displayed the android startup page (Where you select language, sign into google, connect to wifi etc.) like I haven't used the phone before. Shortly after a popup came and said " Android is updating # of apps out of 137", once that was over every single process on the phone crashed.
Now I'm where I am now.
One more thing, I booted it into recovery before I unlocked the bootloader, accidently. Do you think it maybe could've wiped the original OS on the device?

As far as i know, you can't wipe the system with a stock recovery and with a "blank" OS your phone still connects to PC.
i forgotted this existed, at this point you can't lose anything in trying it. i dont recomend the bootloader bricker part for your case.

The phone isnt't being detected when I plug it in.
I've read that leaving the phone 24 hours untouched could also help the battery. I'm going to try that\

I am just nowhere, my phone just treason me when I needed it most, It is very hard Bricked, nothing working, contacted support and they told me it need Replace (but I can't send to service #close this question)
My Story:
Constant restart loop, on Motorola logo. It can go in Bootloader when press Vol Down and Power Button, but that's it, (actually when going in recovery it goes to Broken Android sign, but than restart again)... so how it happened?? I do not know as u do not, I am just normal user, never done anything to crash system, never Rooted, even not installed any kind Launcher, nothing, just some normal Apps and only two game, and lot of music listening, that's it that's all (also physically it's like new, never ever droped or water splashed even). and one day come home, plug in for charging in my PC as always and boom, some strange app crashes and it restarted for EVERRR, wtf is this just do not understand, WHYY?????? so disappointed and so bored...
Question:
so Can it be Helped? Unbricked? I do not care Contacts or any kind Data, just work again....And if it can please step by step I will follow, and do not redirect me to other thread, just help me out here please
And if it cant be Helped, just say frankly and I will capture video how I am splashing it on REAL BRICK wall and will post it on this thread...this will be closing and **** sending of Motorola
My Spec:
Moto G (16GB Global GSM, no SD card slot, single SIM) - KitKat 4.4.4 (it bricked so I cant see Falcon version or other spec, but I have original Box)
I searched everywhere and seen lot, but all of them are 4.4.2 or 3 and also US versions, strange languages and so on. also here on XDA but as I'm Noob I do not know if it will work for me, and before destroy it completely I wanted to know from people who knows much more then me, what can do and what not, so please be patient for my Noobety, Thanks and Sorry...

Ok, don't worry, just follow the tutorial to reflash stock firmware and it will work again.
You need this: http://www.filefactory.com/file/1dw..._4.4.4_KXB21.14-L1.40_36_cid7_CFC_1FF.xml.zip
The only thing to say is that when you reach:
Code:
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk1
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk2
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk3
you may have to try this instead if it doesn't work:
Code:
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
Let us know how it goes!

Oops, sorry, I forgot... It's up to you about unlocking bootloader. If you do, you can't send your phone back for them to sort out the problem. However, if you root your phone, you'll be able to install a custom recovery such as TWRP, sideload a rom, and hopefully all will work. But of course I can't guarantee that it will work, so it's a risk. If it were me, I would send it back as you haven't rooted it and really it shouldn't brick itself on its own for no reason.

Does anyone know where I can get just the stock bootloader image to flash via TWRP?
Long story short I F'd up my bootloader and now Odin will not flash a stock BL file do to a version mismatch and to make matters worse I can't find a way to restore to stock baseband so my network isn't working. If someone can share a backup that'd be super
EDIT: Forgot to specify I need it from a TMobile variant (J700T) for firmware APK6 or APK3 (Odin doesn't seem to want to flash the stock BL from my Odin ROMs perhaps because there is a version mismatch in the phone?)

download latest stock rom at sammy..
Already tried. Looks like I am officially a victim of a partial brick (Odin wont flash BL because it thinks I'm downgrading and I have no Baseband/network) I'll try and see what I can do through TWRP since I can still flash that through Download mode. I made no backups myself but would restoring another TWRP backup solve it perhaps?

No dice my dude. However, I did find something else
Turns out when I check the bootloader version it reads J700T1UVU3AQC3. Sure enough there was a baseband update and security update a few days ago and my device must've installed it while I was asleep. This would explain why my baseband is broken AND why Odin doesn't want me to flash the APK6 Bootloader.
So there's good news and bad news. The good news is there is hope but the bad news is I am currently at the mercy of whenever someone decides to upload this firmware on the internet (if anyone does that is)

You are lucky because you at least have a functioning bootloader and a working TWRP. You are unlucky because AQC3 firmware is not available publicly yet. In any case, bootloader cannot be flashed in TWRP as far as I know. Your only option is to get your missing ACQ3 partitions from someone else's back up. IF you have messed up your EFS partition though you are out of luck.
So exactly what partitions do you need? I may be able to give you those partitions if I have a personal backup of those from the past. Right now I have modified so many things that a current copy of my partitions will probably do you more harm than good.

As far as I know I just need a main system.img backup
Edit; to specify, if I was flashing with Odin it would be what I would put in the AP slot
The phone in its current state is extremely slow and buggy. My intuition tells me that the older Android version does NOT like the new fiirmware (The bootloader is also where the firmware/device config info is stored IIRC)

I can give you a system image but you will have to flash it in TWRP.

Well lucky me Ive got a similar situation though I reflashed with a 3-part HOME file from sammobile to unroot/unTWRP, but did so not realizing the darn BL wasnt included. Lucky for me my build versions matched, so Odin flashed flawlessly, the device boots as if it were brand new, stock recovery and all, everything functions/boots as it should, splash, factory setup, TMobile network works fine etc - only problem is both SafetyNet tests fail, so Google wont let me use use Android Pay and every other payment app that hooks into their API shuts me out. I also noticed a lightning-fast error right before going into the bootloader if you boot from the stock recovery (its so fast I need to capture the log to see what it is).
Any suggestions on where to find a BL to go with my J700T & assuming I find one, any nuances I should be aware of when flashing so as to avoid a potential brick situation?
FYI I flashed with the below from sammobile (and yes I was already at AQF1).

The bootloader is always included with the firmware and is most certainly included with the firmware you posted.
Safetynet probably fails because you need to factory reset.
Hi guys
As you probably know by reading the title, i completely messed up. I was on the stock google factory image and decided to flash a custom kernel. I enabled usb debuging and oem unlock. after having unlocked the bootloader, I installed the twrp boot img and then flashed the kernel. All was well when i stupidly decided to lock my bootloader. Things crashed and now when i try to boot into my phone, the google logo appears and 1 seconds later crashes keeps doing it until i turn my phone off. My bootloader is locked and i think usb debuging and oem unlock are also disabled.
The same thing happens when i try to go to the recovery, it just crashes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated guys. thank you !!

I feel bad for you. However, you bricked your Pixel.
As I mentioned yesterday, contact Google for an RMA replacement.

I don't believe so since you're not the original owner. However, it doesn't hurt to try.
If you bl locked the phone w modified software ur boned. I believe that RMA availability is transferrable from owner to owner, however, I also believe that they will refuse to RMA a phone which technically broke because AVB is doing its job properly. You can try but I'd say your chances are slim. Sorry mate. Also future reference: if you don't have any reason in particular to relock your phone, just don't. You'll save yourself the hassle of having to do it again and it wiping the phone everytime any software thing goes wrong or anytime u want to upgrade custom ROM or kernel or anything of the sort. This goes for any phone not just those with android verified boot.

Yes they will know but they have proprietary software to forcefully unlock/reformat the phone properly if they so choose to actually accept the phone

If you are flashing the latest version of Oreo you don't need to oem unlock. What version of Android were you running before you bricked it?

It won't work because his bootloader is locked. I also tried the OTA file and that didn't work either. Do to have usb debugging on ?
