my rough guesstimate, you'll get about 4x your normal stock battery life from the pack, after you factor in losses from heat and from converting the pack's juice into your cell battery.

I own one before, it is really charge my HTC EVO 4G with bad result. I only use the device once before it basically melted. For reference, I used Sanyo Eneloop batteries in the charger and I used the retractable cable provided with the mini usb adapter. The charger did recharge my batteries, but it got so hot when charging my phone that the outer case warped from overheating. So I ask to replacement, however, the second one I received got the same problem. Also the charging speed is very slow.
I bought another RAVPower rp-pb03 external battery on Amazon one month ago. Since now the battery works very great. I love this device! Not only does it have a very handy flashlight, but it never leaves you guessing how much power is left. It works with my phone, my wife's phone and both of our tablets (all different brands!) The size is nice and compact, and I like the robust weight. It's easy to use, and compatible with everything I've tried! This is by far the BEST accessory I've bought for my electronics by far!
i am going on a travel abroad... will be using camera and camcorder a lot and wifi.... what do you recommend? a portable charger or extended battery? i want a cheap solution..preferably available from ebay

I've just come back from holiday and had a portable charger. It was useful, but I often found that the battery would hardly last the day and there wouldnt be any place to charge it (you don't really want to be back in your hotel when you could be out sight seeing). Rather than trying to find a socket, I'd just get an extended battery. You can just swap it over and continue your fun rather than rooting around for power.
if i buy an extended battery i need to also buy a seperate battery charger so that i can charge the 2 batteries at the same time

Normally charging the battary will last 1 hour.
again it depnds about the places you'll visit.
How many mAh are you planning on using per day? An extended battery will give you 3000mAh compared to the 1400mAh on the original battery. A decent portable charger will give you 5000mAh.
The only down side of using the portable charger is waiting for the battery to charge, most will do that at 500mAh so 3 hours to totally charge the normal desire battery from flat. However while the extended life battery has died the charger will still have about 1.5 charges left in it.
1 thing to point out unless you get a solar charger some portable charges will only charge from USB so make sure you have a way to charge that when out and about
I would get the potable charger (and remember to put it on charge when you have a spare min throughout the day) as when you replace your phone you cant really do much with the extended battery with your new phone, least the portable charger can be used over and over again.
i finally opted for a spare battery solution. I bought an oem battery for desire/nexus one. and i will buy a battery charger so that i can charge both batteries when i go to sleep so that they are both ready the next day
Get a portable charger instead. Taking the battery in and out can wear off the back lid easily.
Get a big battery, it's better than changing between batteries. As well you have to carry the portable charger when you travel. And you have to charge it, too.
So the extended battery should last one day (except you use GPS all time) and you can charge phone when you sleep.
I use a proporta turbocharger and I found it more usefull 'cause I can spare it with my friends with Desire HD, iPhone 4 and LG Optimus 7: with 2 of this we managed to stay all charged all day long and recharged both of them in hotel during the night.
For a trip is a Extended 3000mAh Li-Ion Battery a good solution. It comes with battery cover. Price about 25 $
For the daily use, its too big for me.

can aosp/sense kernel recognize bigger extended battery? afaik, there is a problem when charging bigger extended battery.
in my personal opinion, the standard battery (htc original) is much better than other and my desire remain slim. and if i travel, i prefer to use big portable charger to charge the handset when is not used. and charge them both when i sleep.

I'd go with an portable charger because you don't acutally need to restart your phone when plugin it in.

I use a car charger (not HTC) which gives 1000 mAh and even with the original cable that came with desire, charging is slow. If I get this right, it is fault of the cable, right?

I suppose, best is you try it yourself - maybe a mate got one. As you may know USB allows only 500 mAh, using that secial cables that don't comply with USB (as they only charge) the producer can avoid this restriction.

Well for the first, people get extra batteries so that when the first one dies(OEM Samsung battery that came with the phone) they can just pop in the new one by anker etc. And keep on chugging without charging. Hope that helps. Also, after so many charges the OEM battery loses some of its MaH amps so people will purchase a cheaper(anker tends to be about 10-20 bucks less) to replace it. Price is always a deciding factor to most consumers, especially phone owners.

From Note 2 experience, Anker OEM replacement battery performed and lasted longer than Samsung battery. Period! Plus, as some others pointed out, you can use external charger to juice it up, and just swap batteries on the go.
For external battery banks, Anker is also the way to go. Go to my Review Link in the signature where I have reviewed and posted detailed write up for close to a dozen of power banks. 6000 mAh is a thing from the past. Right now new power banks have 10,000 to 15,000 mAh of capacity in the same footprint as old one. Plus keep in mind, the actual capacity of external charger will be 30% due to usb port conversion (going from internal cell of power bank 3.8V to 5V usb port, and back to 3.8V on your phone through usb port - close to 30% loss due to efficiency).
Yes that 6000 mah power bank will give you only 1 full charge, and the charging speed is equivalent to USB. If you are doing NAV or some other heavy power draw, the external battery may not keep up.
And if I have to carry a spare, the internal battery is smaller and I know exactly what I am going to get in terms of performance
im finding that the anker 2600 batteries i bought are better than my two samsung batteries. i have two samsung batteries because 1 came with my phone and 1 came with the brand new insurance replacement after i smashed that phone. pretty happy with anker. no need to add bulk to the phone with an extended. just keep a spare battery when needed. i have 1 in my camera bag, 1 in my backpack i take to work, and 1 i can slide into my wallet if it's just me and the phone.
I bought Anker 2600 dual battery and external charger pack. Love it. Been using it and swapping batteries out every morning instead of being tied to a charger. Good for trips where I make heavy use of Cell phone to watch videos and such.
Had one issue. the internal connector that the pins that connect to the battery kinda broke on mine. The piece the pins are attached to fell inside the charger case. No problem though just opened it up and hot glued it back in place. All that keeps it there from the factory is glue and mine just came undone. Happened while traveling with charger in a bag with a battery in it, possible something pushed it hard.
Good to know that 2600 anker is better than actual battery... I was planning to get the 3k zero lemon but every one suggests is not doing much difference

After reading their description:
Wall charger is .6 amp stock is 2 amp. So it will definitely be slower to charge.
No nfc.
What is it, 3000mAh or 200mAh more than stock? They need to do their math. It's one or the other.
I'd like to see a side by side comparison by the numbers, I have been burned by aftermarket batteries before. May consider it but the fact there is no nfc may be a deal breaker.

Honestly, this is more of an overview than a review. I'd expect some actual statistics in the video such as overall battery time with stock vs zerolemon batteries (maybe running constant video or something), but all you say is whether or not it's a good battery. Sorry to be so negative, but this is really lacking actual "review" content.
I also purchased these batteries. NFC not being included didnt matter to me whatsoever. Anywho I would say im a heavy user: twitter, facebook, youtube, fun run etc.. and i easily get 16 hours out of one charge. Make sure you do the cycle for these batteries when you get them. The best cycle i had with the 3000 mah was 1 day and 8 hrs i believe.

Example, Batteries say charge for 8 hours prior to use. Card says 12. Card says kill to 1% before charging, the batteries dont.
Also the wallcharger....definitely isnt the worlds fastest. I can actually charge my phone while playing on it continuously while charging and it charges faster then the wall charger.
But hey, 2 extra quality batteries for 20 bucks. Still worth the 20

I bought the two 3000mAh batteries + wall charger as well. I have to say i'm disappointed with the charging speed of the wall charger. It kind of breaks the deal for me. I wanted the spare batteries with an external charger that would allow me to keep the batteries charged without having them on my phone itself. I guess i'm going to send my feedback to ZeroLemon, and see what they will do about it.
The batteries are good compared to the original Samsung 2600mAh one. Right off the bat when i used the ZeroLemon battery, with the same phone settings (brightness, mobile networks, etc), i could notice the battery draining a little slower.
I've read many online reviews on these 3000mAh batteries, and they were right about the battery being a bit bigger than the stock battery, although i couldn't really notice the size difference when i compared them side by side. The back cover will shut properly after some pressing on the sides. Nothing to be concerned about.
All in all, i love the batteries a lot, but it's just too bad the wall charger is practically useless as i'm going to be using the Samsung charger which is way faster.

I have bought 9300mAh battery from Zerolemon for my Samsung Galaxy Note II. I think this battery is so awesome, It is longest than any brand in this class. $44 is worth getting this battery. Highly recommended.

Just got the Zerolemon 3000 mah batteries and wall charger off of Amazon. They are great. I also have a Hyperion 7500mah extended battery. I can get 2.5 days easily or of the extended battery, but due daily use i wanted something closer to stick size. The ZL 3000 batteries are perfect. I get about 5 hours more out of the Zerolemon over stock. 15 hours vs 21 hours. Enough juice you get me though the day. Will save the Hyperion for times when I may tether or be away from a charger for long periods of time.

It seems that you actually get at most about 75% of the stated capacity from a powerbank (see this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zz4arPh-ch8). Even if you only get 66% of usable capacity from a 5200mAh Powerbank (as the video suggests), that should give approximately 3400mAh which is enough to charge a Note 4 from 0% to 100% (battery capacity of a Note 4 is 3220mAh).
The Astro 5200 is very pocketable at 5 x 3.4 x 1.7 inches, comes with a net travel pouch, and a USB cable, but I bought one of these tiny USB cables to use with it: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131876034528
You need a powerbank that holds a larger charge than the battery of your device in order for it to get a complete charge. I'd suggest getting a power bank with at least 3500mAH capacity.

Much more pocketable and guaranteed one full charge is a spare battery! Only downsides are you can't be a good Samaritan and share and you can't use it on your next gadget

Yea, I have a spare battery too, and an external charger - I like to keep my options open, but it can be a bit of a nuisance removing my UAG case so sometimes a charger is handier.

OP is looking for something SMALLER than a 6000mah Deboch, so suggestions for units over that size won't do. I've received my 5200mah Anker Astro E1 (mentioned above) and can confirm that it fully charges my Note 4 with a little to spare. It has a 2A output so charges quite quickly. Very pocketable and highly recommended, probably the best size/capacity ratio for carrying in your pocket:

Having used a few Anker, revspec and kasmish. I know i spelled most of those wrong. But they are all in the 10k mah range.
All of them will easily charge your battery 2-3 times. However some claim 2A but just isn't as fast. I much spend a little more money on a Quick charge 2.0 certified one. Quick charge 3.0 is out for a handful of new phones but the note 4 doesn't support it and most are lik the $50+ range.
Get a QC2.0 small 10k and your covered til the end of the phone life. They will run you $15-30. They are roughly double the size of your note 4 in thickness and thats it. If you can pocket your note 4, you can pocket the battery. But i normally pocket the battery pack and hold the phone. I keep it in the bag tho.
This to me is the best and future proof method. A spare battery is the fastest to go from 0-100 but w/o a spare battery charger, it could be annoying as well as it only works on the note4.

Xiaomi 20 000 mah. It has fast charge
If that's just for your phone, get a spare battery or two. Preferably with an external charger.
If you got your Note4 when it came out and use it regularly, your battery is probably significantly degraded by now or is starting to do so. So buy that new battery.
If you intend to do so, stay away from those cheap "Samsung" batteries on Amazon or eBay. These are all likely to be fakes or rejects. Either buy real (expensive) ones in retail packaging or reputable third party brands.

Anker powercore+ 10050 has qualcomm quick charge and is the perfect size. Amazon has it in a package with the anker wall charger that charges extremely fast. I now have Anker chargers for everything electronic in my life. Anker for life
