Hello guys, I've a problem with my playstore, some apps I can't install from it because it says that is not compatible.... Maybe is the new dpi (380), but if is this problem how can I fix it? And if it isn't the problem what can I do?
Return to stock DPI
Thats the problem if you change the xml file manually... change back to stock dpi and clear playstore cache...
You can install Xposed and there is a module called app settings, that you can set the DPI per app, or there is another module called Play Store Fixes that will do just what you want, or else as mentioned before, go back to stock DPI, I personally use mine in 400 and haven't had any issues.

This is what I did
Used app settings module in xposed
Don't touch any other setting just type in 480 for DPI for Google play store and hit save
My DPI is at 400 app store is at 480 and I can use all apps ( I did a test with real racer 3 )
//edit
I made a mistake, my DPI for phone is 400 and my DPI for Google play store and others is also 400. See my post below for details. I also attached proof that it works

I used this app... Revert dpi to 480 but the same problem... For example I can't find cyanogen camera..

Using the xposed module I mentioned, change the DPI to 400 for the following:
Google play store
Google play services
Google play framework
Clear cache for all 3 in settings> apps
Reboot
Done
Not exactly sure if you must change DPI for all 3 or just some, but when I was googling around I saw ppl mention those ones so that's what I did too and it works fine
I made a mistake in my original post, I updated it
My phone and above app DPI is 400

If your phone dpi is set to 400 (which sets ALL system and user app to 400) why would u use xposed to set dpi to same 400 again ? I dont get it

I'm still playing around with it and haven't finalized it. I'm at 380 right now for example.
The point is you clearly don't have to have the stock DPI to get stuff from the Play Store. You said FIFA 15 wouldn't be found to another user, but it was indeed found using the method I said. It should solve the OP's question.

Just in case, FIFA will be found until Play Store updates or refreshes database or whatever it does. If I change dpi right now, everyrhing will work too, then will stop.
Play Store only works at 480, not 380 or 400
U still don't believe me even after I posted a screenshot?
OK I'll see what happens I guess in a week or so that should be enough for the play store to do "whatever it does"..

BTW, does Xposed work for lollipop or is there a fix for lollipop for this issue?
Not that I'm aware of yet since xposed doesn't work on android L as of yet. I sure hope they figure out how to make xposed work on ART by the time cm12s or something else officially is released lol
So, there isn't a way to solve?

I tried it on previous play store versions (and different phone) and it didnt work, perhups it works now, i havent tested yet. What i dont get is why you set Play Store to 400 when it clearly not working for anyone at anything but 480. If anything, you supposes to set all system to whatever you like and Play Store to 480.
It would be nice if someone else tried doing it your way etc since i dont have time to test it.

I googled around and read some posts that's why I chose 400 DPI for play store. It seems to work for me so that's good enough for me to find the things I'm interested in

I thought i would share that at lease the per app DPI was working on CleanROM 3.2.
I was able to change the playstore, Email, and Gmail to a 160 DPI with no ill effects, coming from a 240 DPI.
get the framework apps from here, http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/forums/xposed_framework_mods/ i am using the Xposed App Settings to change my dpi per app
Wonder if this will let me get FIFA, real racing 2 or nba jam?

This must take more work than I was expecting, first you install the expose, then a module.
Would you mind telling us what module you used for the play store?
Just realized the module was not on the OP in the other thread.
from here, http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/forums/xposed_framework_mods/ i downloaded Xposed App Settings
Yeah, from the Xposed app, choose Google Play Store (com.android.vending) set the DPI to 160, and check the tablet box, leave the resolution as default and save it, it will ask to kill the task let it. After that go back to the app selection and choose Google Services Framework (com.google.android.gsf) and give it the same settings, save it, let it kill the task.
Doing this wont change what is available on the Play Store.

You're absolutely right, but http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/threads/all-apps-in-play-store.5522/ may fix that IF the restriction is not country-based, but DPI-based. Might give it a try.
Is it possible to add a feature to change DPI setings, like Paranoid Android?

I'd like to see this too cause I like to play around, but to me it's low priority cause you can do it via the goo manager app too...
Say what? Goo manager changing dpi?

Yeah, I'd love to see that feature too, editing build.prop manually is a gargantuan effort.
This is something that we are planning to do and is on the list
Most OEMs (and Google) don't seem to manage to use the correct DPI for devices...
We'll put that right

Hello @pulser_g2,
Can you, or XplodWild add please also the option on Alarm that dismiss the alarm when the phone is flipped with the display down. This was a feature in CM10.2, see here: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/29894/.
I will appreciate if you can add this to alarm.
Thank you very much.

For the mean time, Andromizer works for me to change overall dpi setting.
I have not tried Xposed yet on OMNI, but on other ROM's i've used the app-settings module to set dpi per app.

I use Xposed and the app settings module and can confirm it works perfectly for the dpi settings on all apps I've tried. The immersive mode option in the app is still a little buggy, but using force full screen works and gives the same effect.
Use romtoolbox pro. it work for me.

No need for apps. Just edit build.prop.
And Xposed seems to hate ART as of now I'd note for other readers of this thread.

I know at this stage it's just on the to do list but could you elaborate on it. For example. would it just be changing the global DPI, or on a per app basis, or even better have it like Paranoid Android where you can change the DPI of certain things like navigation bar, status bar, lockscreen, phablet UI (No more tabletUI in Kitkat IIRC) etc.
Does anyone know how to fix the problem when you change the dpi on your phone, some apps wont show up because playstore thinks its not the right devoce for the app??
I usually set my dpi to 380-400... I like the smaller icons/fonts while having more screen space..
I tried setting the back to 480 and clearing cache from playstore and frame service and rebooted... But it didnt work... How long do I need to wait for the Playstore to update or is there another way around so I dont have to reset the dpi back to default..
Thanks

There is an xposed module called play store fixes for this very thing. Might be worth a shot but I don't know of it works in the new play store.

I have my OPO set to a custom DPI of 400, and I really like the size, and it looks great 90% of the time. Except when online using Chrome, with Chrome at the 400 DPI everything does look too tiny, and I would love to specifically set that to the to stock default 480 DPI, but keep the custom 400 DPI everywhere else on the phone.
Is that possible ?

404 on my Flex 2.
Use le dpi changer from play store and check"use wm shell" .
Works for any number of dpi , but lg apps will work only for dpi >400.
I am using 400 as the physical density of the screen is 403. LG got it wrong.

This is a bad idea, because changing DPI through "wm shell density" breaks quite a few apps.

A guide for changing a single line in build.prop?
Offtopic: I´d really like to meet that guy who decided that displaying less content on a 5,5" Flex 2 than on most 4,5" phones from other manufacturers is a good idea. If it weren´t possible to fix the DPI, I would have returned the phone the day I bought it.

Yeah, with dpi lower than 400 with texdroider dpi , they got smaller too. But with le dpi changer and dpi over 400 quicksetting icons got even bigger than default ones and text were misplaced.
My phone is on 400 dpi(changed with le dpi changer shell wm ) , everything is smaller and no text misplace (i m on gf2 mods 4.7)
Have you checked shell wm ?

What is the difference between using these apps and just modifying the build.prop? I did modify build.prop and am quite pleased with the results, even though in 2-3 apps the text placement is a little odd.
